    think about tome of the beacon. Lightbringers got a massive buff are battle mages and critically the hero skill you get now turns your hero faithful so even more wrath of the righteous plus makes you vassals pump mana. the new rally makes vassals really good

      Also made variation with them:
      zeal -> cryo(don't like going cryo first, since we spawn in artica(also a reminder, that you can not pick ANY adaptation trait together with primal) -> lots of enemies with cold res)
      Beacon(another good thing about this version is that ligthbringers are repeated aa units -> primal culture makes them waaay more scarier even with mind control on cd) -> kind of a flex tome? can fit any t1-2 tomes here, that help us adapt to current oponents. Tho when I tested build myself, I just slapped artificing here for a better shield unit, that also costs gold instead of mana(unlike almost all other units)
      Cold dark -> again, no specific hard sinergy to chase(unless we do get 3 extra chaos affinity, tottaly agree with the pandemonium pick), we can flex from here. Buut, I feel like the default for me here would be one of the t3 order tomes(depending on whether we want more toughness or offensive(btw I think you should tryout the Bulwark trait with primals, helps their frontline pretty good, since t1 shields want to tank in defense mode anyway, and it driving their def from 0 to 4 is a huuge change, also ofc our t3 enters def mode after jump(and heavy charge is mostly gone from the game). Didn't have too many problems with cultural frontline dying too much with this trait(outside of cases where I have to clear some t4+ important spots in the early(before t2 tome) game, and the possibility to lose t1 shield(maybe 2, if really unlucky) is a cheap price to pay in such cases imho), even tho I don't usually run lots of additional healing for them, works very good for me ^^
      And yeah, t4 for me is Exaltion(maybe supremacy here, if we still don't have good shields), together with Oblivion(get 1 affinity from social trait/ruler and we are golden(once again, I want to point out that our culture mechanic makes fogs very scary, since they ignore res with aa...) into t5 order, which doesn't ask us to be undead x)

      ​@73490kanel I would've taken elephant mounts as well. Because otherwise all units are too squishy especially the front line.

    How about an evolution primal build? Ive noticed that slithers count as animals and with that and the tome of beasts it can get a little nutty when you start getting young dragons on the field. Throw the fey tome in there and no one really wants to invade you

      Pretty much trying exactly this on the Crocodile dudes right now. Tome Of Beast + Evo for maximum animal funsies.

      @@thegrizzly6804 Yeah me too. I can totally envision similar concepts for the existing old factions too though, to add more versatility to them as well. I'd love if that'd be on the table for somewhere up the future. Cause I can easily make up several "specialization" ideas for each existing old faction. Specific Houses for the High Culture, specific Deities for the Dark Culture, specific Crowns/Dynasties for the Feudals etc.
      There's some MASSIVE potential in the stuff Primal Fury added. I keep being impressed by Triumph Studios. I'm not used to such quality in fancy looking games anymore lol.

      @@Ic0nGaming it's unfortunately rare. I want more games that are just like:"oh you want this theme for your character or team. Here's a bunch of stuff, it's all powerful so make whatever you can imagine". I'm hyped for the next dlc I heard it's gonna work on the underground.

    Question about tomes...
    Do you think picking up 3 tier 1 tomes is a bad idea? I also am obsessed with ice but I want Cryomancy, Necromancy and the Evolution tomes... I suspect having undead + summons is not necessary but it just sounds like a lot of fun.
    Question about hero skills:
    Do you have a video that goes into depth about how heroes level, how skill selection works, max level plus highest level you can expect a hero to see even if not max level (plenty of games will have max level of 50 but you finish the game before hitting 30), any skills that are just avoid at all cost while which are must haves?

      Usually there's some good pick in the higher tier tomes up until you hit Tier 4. Not saying that it's always like that, but most of the time I cycle back downwards it's earliest after my first T3 Tome when I somehow don't like all the other options or wanna unlock some extra affinity for another high Tier tome elsewhere.
      Hero Skills:
      Not done anything yet, but I definitely seem to have missed a spot in my guides so far, thanks for mentioning =)

      @@Ic0nGamingI try to not focus too much on what other people have done. So me mentioning the hero skills isn't really me trying to find like optimal builds or anything. It's just sometimes I'm looking at the hero level up skill and I'm thinking "is +2 defense better or worse than +10 hp" or "Do I want to pick up an ability that lets my hero use a range attack every 2 turns or do I want to give all my units +2 xp per round?"
      Also I'm not fully understanding cooldowns of spells/abilities. I've seen ones that claim cooldown of 1 but never seen to become available again while others with a 4 seem to be available quickly.
