La voz mas hermosa de la opera....brillante interpretación!!!
I love Bergonzi. The “thumbs down” people probably just don’t know his prime singing and so this late performance could be a bit of a shock. We all know that as he got older it sometimes took a second for him to vibrate the dead center of the higher pitches in his voice. He sometimes glossed over pitches without centering them at all. What remained to the very end of his career was the buoyancy and beauty of his timbre. His voice remained steady as a rock in the middle and only got sluggish at the extreme top. It’s never fair to compare an older singer with his younger self, but his performance of this aria on the complete Verdi Requiem with Nilsson under Leinsdorf is definitive. There could be very few thumbs down for that performance. So many of his performances, both studio and live, are definitive.

I totally agree with you, he shouldn´t be judged by his later years when it sometimes took a little longer to center the higher pitches or when he sang some high notes without centering them at all. He was a wonderful singer, with a total control of his breath support and a lovely legato. I heard him many times towards the last decade of his long career and his phrasing was a pleasure to listen. He sometimes even changed it from performance to performance.
...CB is one of the icons of tenor singing every current protagonist should listen every day. He had no successor so far.

Per la signora di Verona, Bergonzi non.è per lei. Per riempire il suo orecchio così fine deve ascoltare il tenore Jose Cura. Sentirà che melodia.

Concordo con Lei, Bergonzi oltre ad essere stato un immenso Tenore Verdiano è stato un immenso interprete di Puccini, Ponchielli, Giordano ecc. Meraviglioso è dir poco. Voce non potentissima, ma che voce. Non vedo il perché offendere così gratuitamente un cantante. Se non piace non piace, ognuno ha i suoi gusti, però basta insultare. Tutti i più grandi direttori d' orchestra, i più grandi colleghi, più grandi critici di musica internazionale, hanno detto, Bergonzi è stato uno dei più grandi tenori di sempre se non il più grande. Quindi cari signori detrattori per invidia, mettete il cuore in pace. Amen.
@@rinobrandolini8636 Il piu grande di sempre: ça ne veut rien dire pour moi. Il est merveilleux et basta cosi. Pavarotti tout jeune à La Scala, porté par Karajan. Un autre moment de pure merveille.
Par curiosité j'ai écouté Pavarotti, si jeune avec Karajan, Carreras, Vickers, Kaufmann deux fois et bien sur Bergonzi. Je ne vous dirai pas qui j'ai préféré mais certaines critiques m'étonnent et je m'insurge contre cette idée d'affirmer que Bergonzi est le meilleur "ever". Ou de mettre en lumière certains de ses défauts évidents. Et ce n'est pas un sacrilège de les relever.
Peut-être parce que vous écoutez trop de disques^^ tous les ténors que vous citez, j'ai eu la chance de les voir et les entendre sur scène... Pavarotti, Carreras & co, pas dans le requiem de Verdi, mais^^ Bergonzi reste à ce jour le Prince des ténors, classe,, projection (!!!), musicalité, c'était juste inouïe. Je précise que j'ai adoré tous les autres (Kaufmann vu hélas que 2 fois et pas particulièrement à son avantage les 2 soirs, voix trop petite, peut-être dans le futur dans un théâtre à l'italienne idéal pour sa magnifique voix ?
Tanti suoni strascicati , ogni nota è un portamento altrimenti non riesce a intonarla al primo colpo , il primo sib dire che è "indietro" è fare un complimento , ...e per terminare la grande lezione di canto e di stile : in parte dextraPP !

ma non è questione di cattiveria,solo che non si può dire che questa esecuzione dell'Ingemisco sia una lezione di canto.Troppi fiati che spezzano la frase,il Lab tenuto così tanto(non è scritto) da costringerlo a respirare,poi sul Sib alla fine ci è arrivato tirato ed è sceso immediatamente.Questa è la verità,non è cattiveria gratuita
