    I popped this video on thinking it would be good background noise. I’ve been having issues with moisture but I was convinced that the ladies in my local AFV groups taught me everything I needed. And yet! The sphagnum moss method would have been so useful to know for my two Macs scorching sun that I killed 😭

    Love your videos. They have been very helpful. I have an intergeneric orchid. Not doing so well. Yellow spots on leaves, pale in color and black spots, also it has not bloomed for me in 2 seasons. I know black spots are not uncommon, however, I repotted it using your combo with charcoal. Just 3 weeks and I am seeing big changes. Darker leaves and a more vigorous new growth. No blooms yet, but it is looking hopeful. Thank you so much and keep the good info coming!!

      +Philip Gan thank you for watching. If you leave the flowers in your plant the flowers will take all its energy and the plant will focus on keeping those flowers, instead of focusing in rooting. They need to root first and later they will bloom again.

    thanks, I just ran into the same problem. Watered all my violets the same way but some all of sudden had floppy bottom leaves. Had no idea what could cause it. Your videos are very informative. But can you tell my what you use as a wick> I tried the wick method but my wicks always rotted. Thanks..

    • @EmaansGarden
      @EmaansGarden  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those floppy bottom leaves will never come back. It is a sign of root rot. If you don’t have the same violet in your collection you need to propagate some leaves from it before you loose the whole plant.
      For the wick I use knitting thread ( wool + polyester) . I found it best. I tried women’s tights also, but it didn’t work. . The best and easy way to put on the plate sphagnum moss and place your pot on top of the moss. Now I am using that method. But no time to make a video and share it with you guys . You are always welcome.

    • @haleybrown2836
      @haleybrown2836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmaansGarden Thank you for your response. You are ever so correct. After watching the video I took the violets out of the pot and examined the main stem. All demonstrated signs of rot. Your videos are the best. I have become one of your latest subscribers and intend to recommend your site to others. Suggestion/question, have you run across a problem with leave yellowing, specifically baby violet leave yellowing. I bought some leaves from Bloomlovers. All gave me babies but I have a dickens of a time to get them to maturity. None of my regular stock does this. I have tried everything I found on line but nothing helps. The problem persists. Perhaps you can tell me what to do about it, or perhaps you have already made a video on this. Thank you ever so much again.

      +knokhol you are welcome. You have to check the soil. If it is old soil you will see the build up salt on top of the soil. If the soil is fresh but no blooms then the pot is too big. The pot has to be 3 times smaller than the plant. And if the soil and the pot are ok but no blooms still,then I have to show you in my video what to do . Most of people are asking this question.
