Far cry actually has a subtle problem on windows vista and up. The water reflects things like trees, but it doesn't reflect the ground so you'll see floating trees in the reflections. The reason for this is apparently an issue with a very obscure part of the dx9 api that wasn't ported correctly from xp to vista. Also the loading thing happened to me on first startup as well on my xp machine, I thought it was just the slow single core cpu, 1gb of ram or hard drive that caused it but it seems the game just does that.
@Oskar Kasprzyk Its because they think that it reduces latency even on monitors that can't display over 60Hz. They swear by it because it "feels" smoother to them.
@Oskar Kasprzyk I guess if you're one of the few people who already have a 360 Hz monitor there's a point in wanting to run games at that framerate. I'll stick to the 100 fps my monitor can handle for now^^
@Ghost PL dont cap your fps. Its produces input delay. Set max fps to 0 to get the best response time although there might be screen tearing but its not severe
@Ghost PL there will be a little screen tearing ( the upper half of screen doesnt match to the lower half for like 1 second). Are you sure you dont have any kind of gsync or freesync because that can cause lag. I dont know why your game would lag at higher fps
@Ghost PL no thats not how fps works. The more the fps you have the less frame time will be which means less delay. (watch this video to understand "th-cam.com/video/uzp8z1i5-Hc/w-d-xo.html") the thing with games like gta sanandreas is that those games are ported from consoles like ps2 which ran at 30fps capped. While my CPU is kept busy with rosetta@home, that also deals out corona work units!
I'm also folding since yesterday cuz of LinusTechTips xD

It's weird that GUN's logic is capped at 30FPS, considering its engine is based off the Tony Hawk engine which was built for running at 60FPS on 6th gen consoles.
An issue with morrowind that you didnt mention is that it wont use more than a single core/thread, which forces it to run waaaaay slower than it actually ran on your pc.
