I can't believe your video came up & you did a valve cover video!
It's like YT can read minds since I was going to send you an email on my one-off idea on doing a Retro Custom Look on valve covers & matching TPI !🤔 I was also going to send you an email on some stuff you'd be interested in, & my idea to do these really nice, custom valve covers & custom painted & are really custom pieces that Chip Foose & Dave Kindig & other builders use on builds, however, no TPI Vette owner ever did what I'm thinking of. It would make an incredible video. If my health wasn't screwed up for years now, its what I'm hoping to do someday to my 87 in storage for 25yrs.
I'll send you details instead of posting here & for suspense to your viewers if you decide on this Retro-Upgrade & other stuff I came up with! I even have GM NOS Valve Covers in storage since 1993. Ehhhh, my idea will blow GM designers away!

It took me several weeks to mirror finish / polish a set of these, center bolt version, then nickel plated (don't look as they should but maybe the protection works, then I swapped the engine and needed perimeter style with the new cylinder heads :) I'm thinking about buying a new set and restore them, but not sure if they will clear the full roller rockers.
nice restoration, they look like 'factory'
noticed the headers... how did you wrap the. BTW I've used fiberglass to wrap the pre converters, while finishing swapping the engines I touched that which sent tiny gass needles flying through the air right into my eyes,..wont even come out. I would never use that stuff ever again. Stainless or aluminum are much better options

How much time did you wait between the different types of paint? I went with the 30 minute drying time on the can and just had both coats flake off when i went to see if the texture coat was dry.

I believe i only waited 25 30 minutes in between coats.

@etwasbauen6615 that makes sense. I was trying to do the same but I might have gone heavy/not moved fast enough with the texture coat

What colour did you use for the textured paint? the link just takes you to brown

Any color works, you are using the silver on top of it.

Most of the time, I see people using hand tools vs power tools. Isn't there more of chance of stripping something with the the impact?
