    You got it upside down, tensioner should be under the whole chain set up

      as I explained I had it set up like that and it keep getting tangled in the drive sprocket. right or wrong I have had it on like this for over 2 years now and not had any problems at all.......

    I would give the camera to the little girl and let her record it.

    I think that those dangerous tensioner thing is crap I rode over 40 miles on a very worn build on those stock tensioners and never had a problem to prove myself I rode 60 mph with one of those tensioners and still didn’t have a problem

    I got a 24in motorized bike and I'm having a problem with the chain hitting the motor mount bracket on the backside there anything I can do to fix

    i got an idea how about we just shorten the chain and never worry about a stupid ass tensioner shorten the chain and u can adjust it by moving ur back wheel...anyone who has tensioner problems...just shorten the chain

  • @hgboone3

    I'm surprised at that is working I would think it would be problematic.. The thing is when the chain pulls it pulls on the spring downward ultimately you want your sprocket chained to be wrapped around the sprocket teeth as much as possible. My industry standards this would be improper mounting of a chain. Ultimately if you go uphill the bottom portion of the chain which does not have any tension on it will drop and it the situation that I can get into is that it is to feed back into the back wheel sprocket in this state of looseness it may fall off. Yet you you have a backup system with your pedal foot powder on the opposite side of the wheel. In closing I just mentioned this so you will not be so much surprised I hope it does not Jam.

      as I stated in the video, with the chain tensioner on the bottom side it allowed the slack to be on the top side and it would jam around the drive sprocket. I had it to jam up several times, ended up pushing it home. after I have installed this modification I have driven over 100 miles with no problems... ps I have seen several youtube videos with people having the same problems... thanks for your comments

    You got the chain tensioner plate mounted upside down flip it around . Oh and also size your change correctly so you don't have so much slack. AKA take some links out. You don't want the chain tensioner on the top of the chain you want it on the bottom where there is no drive forces and won't get tight.

      Thanks for you comments, that chain tensioner has been like that for 2 years and works great. I am not using a spring now but a turnbuckle, super easy to adjust

    thanks for all
    of the comments I have received and questioned this retrofit, I have had this on for over 2 years now and over 200 miles and it still works great and without any problem at all, the only differences is I took the spring off and installed a turnbuckle to hold and adjust the sprocket

      This video quite literally changed my life. I use my bike to get to work and I've always had tension issues. I never thought to install the tensioner the way you did. So I did it and my bike has way more power. I also don't get those hiccups in the motor while I'm not giving it any gas. Anyways....thank you. Really. This was extremely helpful

  • @DudeWithALude97
    @DudeWithALude97 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe it didn’t work properly for you and that’s why you flipped it but that chain tensioner is supposed to be tensioning the the bottom chain. It’s just supposed to feed your chain into the bottom of the sprocket.
