Ive been aware of the story of Brushy Bill since the 80s. I saw his story on Americas most wanted as a kid and i absolutely fascinated. After years of looking into this Im 100% Convinced Brushy Bill really was Billy the Kid.

You are probably aware of the couple things that I offer for your consideration.-------- Pat Garett's daughter said "my dad did not kill Billy " Governor Mabre and Walter Noble Burns were related, Geniva Pitman said " Olie P roberts " was not Billy the KID, Martel Able when meeting Brushy many years after July 14 asked him--- "we had a converstation that last night Billy was in Fort Sumner. Tell me about that converstation. Brushy reiterated the converstation and she said you are Billy. The other side says that when with the Governor Brushy couldn't remember much of anything and he didn't have a stroke or they would have called a doctor. Well Brushy was taken to a doctor by the name of DR. Stan Lloyd. Thanks again Daniel
Thanks for posting. I do believe he was the kid, but regardless, it is good to see honest reviews and takes on this subject as i have run into more than one that accuse Roberts of lying and so on. I would never call someone a lier without nowing for sure. And lets face it, we will never probably know one way or another. Keep it respectful, Amen.
Some claim the Ft. Sumner grave was washed away in a flood decades ago. Do you think anyone knows for sure, or even where the original grave was? I heard tell even the men who buried the body later couldn’t agree on its location.
I like the deep digging on Morrisey,Brushy Bill....i have wondered why 'Historians' dont talk much about them except to dismiss them. Nor do the Morrissey/Brushy detractors explain in depth why they dismiss them..they have the 'cuz i said so syndrome' Thank you Dan for going Hard against a narrative

Thank you, Daniel. I got that, about mixing today with the past. I was watching a Paul Harvey video and commented that maybe he wasn't the trusted man, I thought. But, the narrator told me that they didn't have our technology back then. It's easy to make the mistake.
It has been done a half a dozen times and more often than not its a match. The times it was less of a match they modified the photo before comparison, throwing the result so that is not true at all.
Did Brushy Bill move back to Hico after he lived in Hamilton for awhile? They have a spot there that marks the place that he died while walking from his home to the post office. I believe I found his house on Google Earth, based on one of the pictures of him standing in front of it.
I think this is a really really great question. The problem I think was that Billy was only 20 years old or so when he was the Kid and 70 years had passed. No wonder they had to get Severo who was 14 when Billy escaped. Everyone else was pretty much dead. One person that would be interesting was Al Jennings, the train robber. I think Morrison did the best he could in 1950. Things were way slower then. I think my focus in hindsight would be getting more corroboration on events and people, like when he was a Marshal. What aliases he used and when, the story behind Joe Hines, his genealogy, stuff like that. There are pictures with a "D.W. McCooK' or something like that who said they were Marshals with him. I'd like an affidavit from that guy and more details. I know firsthand how hard it is to get stuff in the moment. I've interviewed two of the last survivors from Alcatraz and I wish I could think of everything I want to ask while they are still with us. One passed away already. Maybe more people from Hico. Affidavits from people saying he DIDN'T go around saying he was the Kid before he came out, but who would think of that back then? Great question.
After studying this for half a century myself, I believe that Roberts was a fraud, but I gave you a "like" because unlike many Brushy Bill defenders, you stick to reality and are respectful. And even the stuff that doesn't "fit" whichever side doesn't make the saga any less fascinating.

Dig em up and get some DNA enough is enough. That's the only way , find Billy's moms grave , fort Sumner grave and the Hico grave and run the DBA

Steve Sederwall has stated that the grave can be reclaimed using existing information in conjunction with modern tools/instruments.@@SumDumGy

Brushy bill face recognition was done and it did not match The Kid Brushy was not Billy the Kid. I don’t see how people believe that.

I believe I saw some info about Billy and Brushy having the same Dental and Medical Records. A Tooth Extraction. Scars. Etc
