Technically its a scooter, a moped is a motorcycle with pedals but we say whatever we feel like in America

yes, I have the same problem. just bought a second-handed sense and it's NOT blue! Which one did you end up cutting?

I tried this on my '99 and it made no difference on the stand or on the road. It was certainly worth a try though. Perhaps the CDI's programming were changed at some point.

Thanks, no problem! Do you happen to have any info on how to remove the variator to get to the starter gear? Mine seems to be stuck on and I'm at a loss for how to remove the (front) variator!

@@evilAshTheDog I havent had to do that with mine. My advice would be start by taking the plastics off, that way you can see how everything comes apart

Thanks... I'm way past that. I'm at the "tug on the variator, use a gear puller on the variator, shout names at the variator" stage.

all that wire does is keep the engine from revving higher

@@bethmears4399 im better with cars than small engines but id take a look at the carb/throtlle. sounds like the throttle may be stuck open.
