Wonderful video, thanks. I bought an inkjet printer after watching your video. Now I have to make boxes for all my loose games xD The tool you are using has many names, one of which is Embossing Stylus. It is sold also under the name burin (which is more generic), and it's used for embossing, engraving, sculpting clay, etc.
Aloha ! Congrats on your new printer ! A-ha.... an embossing stylus. It loks more like this thing than an binding awl. The awls has no ball on the end 🙂 Cheeeeeeeeeers Jecepede
Hello mate! Great video here! If you don't mind, I have some questions since I'm a newbie in repro-boxes world and I would like to do my own stuff. Essentially: - Inkjet or laser printers? I have found some opinions online, but I can't find some real reasons to choose one or another. Or better, do you have some specific printer brands to suggest? - Which kind of paper do you use or reccomend? I'm interested more in doing repros of Game Boy/Color/Advance's games' boxes. Thank you in advance!
Aloha ! Hmmm An inkjet or laser printer, that is an interesting question. I had the same when I started reproducing my boxes. I think it all boils down on availability and/or budget. For me, I already have an inkjet printer so I'll stick to that. The MarioKart was printed with an Inkjet and it is pretty good if I may say so. For me personally, I would recommend the thicker paper. The thicker the better (with the exception of the labels). It makes for really sturdy boxes and inlays. What also you also an do (not mentioned in the vid) is printing a 'cardboard pattern' on one side of the paper and the cover on the other side. It can give a slightly more authentic feeling to the inside of your box. Just look at the finished Blobette box. You can see it in the vid. Cheeeeeeeeeeers Jecepede
Aloha ! I had two printers at my disposal. A Canon Pixma MP270 inkjet and A Xerox from my work. Can't remember the type though. Seeing the results, I think any mid- or highrange inkjet will do just fine so no need to buy a US $ 12.000 Xerox ;-) Cheeeeeeeers, Jecepde
Aloha ! I just downloadede cover : KonamiGBCollectionVol2_GBC-Box_EUR(DMG-AF6P-EUR).zip But the only thing I see is they replaced the barcode for their logo. That is easy to get rid of. I bet you can simply create your own barcode and simply place it over the mark. In fact, I did just that with all my covers in the video. Check out 24:50 where I compare the Tomb Raider with the original box. Cheeeeeeeers Jecepede

Just click on "Games by consoles" there you will find a section called "Miscellaneous files" . Underneath you can click on "Inner trays"... Cheeeeeeeers Jecepede

For the other two, Tomb Raider and Zen, I used the thiner paper printed in the laser printer. For me personally, the thicker the better. Putting this here for when your become a famous youtuber.
You did a great job with this video.
Nintendo: don’t move! Don’t frickin move!
It was pretty good, they do look nicer as display pieces in the box.
Know I’m late to the video. You should use the scribe tool on the inside of the box. You won’t scratch the inked outside.
That is a very good tip. Thank you very much.
this was one awesome video, thank you!
Hey great video! This really helped me out :) You did have me nervous when you reassembled the GB game over the sink!!
Very nice video, like it a lot, both the editing and the content, well done

Really sweet video man, nice and straight forward. I decided to make my own box design for my copy of Starwing, so finding this video was really neat!
Great video! How did you print the little labels for the gameboy cartridge? Do you go to a website and print it from there like the box art?
