I actually quite like the grunginess of the poorer areas in China. Despite being poor though it comes with none of the connotations that you have in the West. Seems quite safe.
Mostly just the Americas, and mostly just in places where there are a lot of hobos and drug addicts. As someone who lives in the US, many areas have become increasingly more into trash holes.
Have you seen morgue photos from China? There is evil everywhere, no place is without evil. America is showing its evil more and more, as the country accepts wrong for right and right for wrong we will continue to morally disintegrate.
China is such a fascinating country with such rich history and culture. I love videos like this because we see history in motion. As countries continue to advance and develop we often leave behind certain customs and traditions for the sake of modernity, but here we see a sort of gritty reality; the life of the common person as it is and always has been. There is pride to be had here as I see people - ordinary people - living their day to day lives. It's not glamorous, it's not fancy, but it is what the regular everyday person can relate to.
China is massive, and every region has its own culture and dialects. People from different areas even look and sound different, and their customs vary so much that sometimes it feels like they’re from different countries. Mandarin is the one language everyone can use to communicate, but even then, jokes and humor don’t always land the same way - a Northerner’s joke might go over a Southerner’s head. Living in Shenzhen, I get to experience this mix every day; people from all over the country are here, making it one of the most interesting places to be.
I like China's first-tier cities, but I'm grateful that they often show the appearance of ordinary people like this. Wtf are you talking about its everywhere! Lmao
Trash is everywhere
the trash is walking around
I like it! thank you!
Life in China is fascinating . .
one of you're best videos!
Thank you!❤
Looks to be a solid place for an adventure... would love to go....
I see a lot of European cars, especially from Germany and some from France.
As an introvert, this video makes me anxious, it's so dense.
Too many people crammed into the space. I can't live there.
@@ranjittyagi9354asian countries are crowded but since the asians are extremely polite and careful to not run into people walking there doesn't feel nearly as uncomfortable as in western metropoles.
China has 1.4 billion people, most of whom live in cities, so overcrowding is inevitable
Fascinating! To see how ordinary people live is much more interesting than films of the rich and fashionable. Thank you.
Those are some old districts and they are actually disappearing.
@@rog4464 it's good that Wang is documenting them for posterity. But where will all these people go, I wonder...
@@channelPOG Get compensation and move to wherever they desire.
I was told that some are now officially classified as historically important and are now actively protected by law people get grants to live and maintain the it 🧐
@@channelPOG Most residents of the old town expect the government to demolish their houses, as this way they can get one or two new apartments and compensation of hundreds of thousands of dollars in the government's newly built buildings. And due to government policies, when their houses are demolished and new houses are not built, the government will pay them an additional amount of money every year as rent. So in China, if your house is to be demolished, it means you are going to become wealthy.
Hello 🙋♂️.
This neighbourhood reminds me
of England - back in the Dickensian era,
with fictional characters from the
famous Charles Dickens novels
👀 lurking from dark dingy 🚪 door
ways !!
All that was missing was Fagin and
Oliver Twist !!
I hope the Chinese government
eventually pulls these neighbourhoods
down and gives the people a taste of
a better life with new houses 🏠 ect ect.
Everyone in China 🇨🇳 should enjoy
a taste of the wealth the China 🇨🇳
government has created for ALL its
people.
No graffiti, no homeless, no fighting,
no drugs, no garbage, just a town
full of people trying to get by in daily
life !!
Thanks 🙏
James 🫶✌️
Yes, I agree, altho the place looks kinda shady to my eyes, but it won me over bc it got no graffiti, no homeless, no violent act, no loud music, no drugs, no garbage littering. I truly value the above traits, bc LA has all of them in our downtown, esp during the nighttime and in the bad areas. I am from LA btw.
Some of these places are actually preserved, outside looking dingy and dark but inside always clean and comfortable,, and people get grants to live there, as it's classified as historically important
In fact, if this area is planned as a city, the people here will receive hundreds of thousands of dollars and a house from the government
Some of these homes have long histories that generations lived through, not everyone will want to destroy their ancestral homes
Thanks a lot for video, happy life ,busy life.
Such a relaxing video. I simply loved the tour.
They seem very polite and respectful. I like what I see although it is living with basic necessities.
Perfect game scene!
The first 1 minuto looked like a Brazilian Favela but the way better than a favela very beautiful village

@@DogShamen Well done ,keep going. We need more people like you who are arrogant and always believe only what you want to believe.😂 Western countries should underestimate China more and give us more opportunities for unimpeded development, instead of imposing sanctions on companies such as Huawei and increasing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.😢
we usually call places like this downtown village. but in last 15 years, this kind of place is disappearing, i guess now every city has one or two
Thank you. It's great to see other countries that I will never get to. It looks very hilly, is it difficult for the elderly walking up those streets?
This is a common problem for those old people, they would like to stay at home to avoid clamb the stairs
@简贝贝 I know the feeling.
That crazy wiring overhead would make me very nervous about an electrical fire.
it probably looks like that in your town
just out of sight
@@hindugoat2302 In Canada we have strict regulations and safety checks frequently.
@@modtomodern Yes in Canada the fire alarm always beep when I cook chinese 😭
@@modtomodernu have all the fancy things and strict regulations doesn't mean u have less fire. It's like Canada is a wealthy country doesn't mean it has a lower crime rate and safer place than China lol. PS u should visit Thailand see how much exposed wires they have on the side of the streets, it will blow your mind but they never catch on fire.
Most of the wires in China are thick wires, while most of the wires shown in the video are thin. These are mostly fiber optic cables, because there were no fiber optic plans in old residential areas at that time, so there were so many thin wires pulled horizontally.
Small parts of that were a fairly upscale level of shabby. All of it was enjoyable though, and a very good idea for a video.

Man how did you walk in those tight walkways between the houses. In case of an emergency it would be impossible to get out of there.
Thank You for your velog.
