Greetings from California! This is one of my favorite of your walks. The trees that cover the street at any point in this video are especially my favorite.
I have watched a lot of videos of Chongqing, which have convinced me to make Chongqing my next destination in China. But this video shows a completely different side of it, which is interesting in its own way. (and it seems like I'll be burning 10.000 calories per day walking up & down stairs, so all good) Thanks for a great walking tour. 谢谢。 Thomas
@@test-ol9iy rural folks? Because these people cannot find proper housing, are looked down upon and have less rights than chinese people born in the cities
I had the privilege to live in China for almost 2 years.. not a long time but the Best Time of my Life in every way. It is an amazing, beautiful country and people and it changed me forever. I still plan to return to the place I fell in love with.
This just shows how much an abundance of big healthy trees can add to a city's charm. I notice how shaded and calm it feels throughout the streets. In the West, many municipalities act as though they hate trees, and try to chop them down for any reason. They'll usually use excuses, like saying the trees are too old, or have some sort of blight.
That’s not true in Australia. Trees abound, cities must have lots of green space and parks are everywhere and well maintained. Even n the poorest of suburbs. Not sure what west you live in. Trees are protected. You’re not allowed to cut them down without permission which is mostly granted on genuine safety.
If I were to visit China, I’d totally check out Chongqing. The city’s crazy terrain would give someone from the flatlands like me a whole new vibe. Plus, I’d hit up the Cyberpunk 2077 filming spots for some cool pics!
This walking tour through Chongqing’s Yuzhong District is absolutely captivating! From the historic charm of Caijiashibao to the bustling vibe of Xinglong Street, the quiet yet lively Pipashan Back Street, and the nostalgic Republic-era feel of Zhongshan Fourth Road-every stop felt like stepping into a time-traveling journey. The mountain city’s unique charm and cultural essence are beautifully captured. Can’t wait to see more walks like this! 🍃🏞
This city seems so... cool! It's chaotic, it's dystopic but also so full of life and with splashes of green and nature everywhere. It seems to be the kind of city where its flaws only add to its character and charm. It's got its own vibe. Hope I'll get to visit one day, this was an awesome walk.
Congratulations on the excellent video, Chongqing is a wonderful city I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on TH-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug!!!🙂
You may visit it one day. Be sure to put oil on your knee like the locals. If you rotate your arm quickly you will make wind. Everything is inside the package.
I feel nostalgic somehow, It was in my dream when I saw a place like this, I went to some buildings and they served noodles and every time I wake up from a dream like that, I always think that maybe I live a piece of my life there and until I die, I wake up from this life to another one.
China is a relatively safe country . Very often, you will see small delivery trucks parked on the street with a lot of small parcels inside, unattended (check 1:13:56 ).
Sorry, I didn't notice in the video, but ... Are there common yards in cities in China? By 'yard,' I mean a large common area (usually square or rectangular) between residential buildings where drying racks for clothes (pipes and ropes) might be located, children's playgrounds, and calisthenics facilities for everyone. These areas are usually unfenced, but sometimes residents might erect fences around the perimeter of the buildings. Does anyone know?
based on what i see in china virtual tour videos, common ground is pretty commonly available especially in relatively new residential area (maybe 1990ish and above). in the old community there is a yard but often converted to parking area. so depend on which side in the city.
Thank you for watching! As far as I know, new residential areas have public courtyards inside, which are often not open to the outside and not on the street. Old communities are often narrow and rarely have public courtyards.
The people who designed this place are geniuses. No country in the West can do this kind of thing. Our new-build developments are always laid out in the most basic way possible, with bland architecture and without any real attempt to incorporate retail space or commercial business spaces that average people can actually own and run.
Western countries are capable of everything but they bit unlucky with blaxx population who love to destroy everything. Just watch the Pruitt-Igoe public housing documentary.
Really? How come? I think Japan is much better than China, much cleaner and less stressful. People are not pugnacious and minding their own business. In China, it is almost like US and England where you will most likely encounter a problematic person in your walks, at a restaurant, at a theater, going on their political or insane rants.
Sim, porém sem lixo rs, Isso é o que me impressiona, Chongqing é umas das cidades mais populosas da China e do mundo, e quase não se vê sujeira, tudo muito organizado e funcional...
i never imagined some other parts of the World looking soo different from what i know. Very Fascinating

but don't go in summer
For such a large population & big city, it is so clean.. Wonderful!

So many lovely trees

incredible, everything very organized, clean and tree-lined.

west hates nature
It's not just that. There are trees that are very unaesthetic. The Chong Ching vegetation is objectively just as beautiful as the city.

the heavy breathing of the cameraman on the climbs😂😅 Congratulations on the video!!🎉🎉🎉
wtf i had no clue china was this nice... ABSOLUTE BEAUTY
even if it's "old" it looks amazing to me. I wish I lived there

Looks incredibly similar to Istanbul streets. Incredibly dense people population in both

Agreed, and it's a shame. You see it in all sorts of non-western countries as well.

Western countries you mean USA and Canada.

I guess in your mind there are only 2 countries in the world, mighty china and some unrecognised "west". Good luck with your chinese education

Erasing the dashed line or drawing it as a solid line requires additional expenses
