Larry is not only one of the best photographers on earth, but a wonderful human as well. I'll never forget him inviting me to my first drift event in 2011 (drove up in my MX-5) and him passing us on the highway, hanging out the window to shoot a photo of us driving, right in front of California Highway Patrol. Legend.
I've been watching Larry on autofocus, as well, as the hoonigan channel. I could tell he was big news but i didn't realise he was quite this well known! Its cool seeing all my favourite car channels collaborating!
Larry Chen is the premiere car culture photographer globally , i have yet to see anyone else in over 30 yrs as a race fan capture moments like Larry can, he is someone that young car culture photographers can aspire to 👍

The dedication Larry puts in to the car scene is unreal. Every day I learn more about how deep his roots actually go, he’s basically helped shape the car community into what we have today
Been a fan of Larry's since the early SpeedHunters days, and his photos always stuck out to me the most. They still do. It's only fitting he's become the most prolific and respected automotive photographer in the world, his work ethic and talent are second to none.
Until now I didn't know who he was now I'm kinda hyped to look through all his work. I'm late getting into cars but the more I find out the more I'm seeing what a fantastic worldwide culture it is!
Thanks to speedhunters !!! Larry is the boss , since larry left speedhunters I stop visiting the page as frequent, only Dino has me there still. He is one of the reasons why I took motorsports photography seriously and pushed myself to the limit. i can't be like larry cause I'm not Larry but I can be the best me thanks to larry .Love auto focus, stories and cars , being praying for 5 years that larry makes a yearly magazine of the entire year with the top stories n cars of that year , reading material and photos. cause when content gets deleted of the internet a physical book can still be around. Larry and triple zero magazine production I see in the future
This year i've promised myself i'd do everything i can to try and take off with photography. I've received amazing feedback even though i dont own to top notch gear, these videos inspire me, knowing Larry has the same level of education as me gives me hope. I'm sacrifising every weekend and night i have to go and shoot races and meets to try and make a name for myself. I just need to work hard and make sacrifices. Thank you for the video
This was a very, very good video celebrating an incredible man. I've followed his work for as long as I can remember and have long considered him to be one of the hardest working people I have ever known of, and yet it is super rare to see him without a smile on his face. He is an inspiration. I especially loved the clip around 10:00 where he is deep in conversation with that young lad about his camera in the middle of an event without so much as a hint of elitism or arrogance, we could all learn a lot from his eagerness to share his knowledge and experience. The part where he was commenting on the costs and compromises of his work to his health and home life really hit me too, its something all too easy to overlook from both sides of the fence. I hope he finds the time to slow down a bit soon! Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching this video again - well done Carfection! And Larry - you're a legend.

So prior to FD Seattle this year I knew little to nothing about him and FD so I bought a ticket snd the photography experience. In the hour or so I shot with him on track I learned SO much about what I was doing wrong and learned so much about what kind of shot to be looking for. Not to mention his high energy was great to help with the stigma that ya know it was Larry Chen standing there in front of us
As someone who has been following his work on Speedhunters all the way back to 2008, he has opened my eyes to all the incredible and amazing things the automotive world has to offer. His insights and ability to tell a story through pictures, articles and now videos has influenced my love for cars, and motorsports specifically. I am so grateful for all the work he has put out, and couldn't be more ecstatic to see the love and attention he has been getting .
You know when it's said your gift will make way for you, this is a perfect example of someone who is so naturally inclined to do something as simple as taking a photo...but will go above and beyond anyone else ever will, because of passion. And that passion is what attracts everyone

I got into photography (specifically automotive) recently and I dream to be where you are one day Larry , long road ahead but I’m happy with how well my pictures are turning out after just a month or 2 of shooting , gotta learn rollers next

My favourite Larry Chen photo is the headline image in the Speedhunters' "Magnus Opus" article. Magnus Walker leaning against his 964 at dusk with the lights of LA in the background. It's a very honest shot, most of the image done in camera, little (if any) editing in Photoshop. Edit: it's in this video at 15:27

When I need to go out and take photos I often look at Larry's or watch him on TH-cam to get the positive creative vibes flowing.
