- We spent 3 nights exploring Manila in the Philippines and seeing what the city has to offer. We’d heard so many negative things about Manila and lots of people had told us it’s not safe for tourists but we absolutely LOVED it! Staying in central Metro Manila and then moving to the affluent area of Makati for one night allowed us explore different areas and make our own minds up 🏙️
To enter the Philippines and be granted a 30 day visa, you must show proof of ‘onward travel’ to prove that you won’t be outstaying your welcome. This is a huge obstacle for backpackers as we don’t know what we are doing in 2 days time let alone a whole month away so keep watching to find out how we overcame this and what you can do to make sure you are granted entry to this BEAUTIFUL country 🇵🇭
During our stay in Manila, we explored the old city of Intramuros with the legendary Dale Philip’s tour guide who saw us with a camera and offered us a tour. Intramuros is so interesting and beautiful in equal measure and we’d definitely recommend adding this to your Manila itinerary if you are visiting.

LOL. FYI. We're VERY INVOLVED in WW2. Manila was the most devastated city after Warsaw, Poland. That's why almost all the mansions, churches and Spanish influenced buildings were hardly to see. The war destroyed Intramuros as well. The only city that still had many old buildings is Vigan City, in the northern part of Luzon Island. Because the Japanese General fell in love with a local girl so he refused to bomb it.
We had NO idea about all of this, we felt slightly ignorant/unaware about the Philippines involvement/destruction in WW2. Thanks for watching and passing on this interesting information.

Philippines was actually at the center of WWII, at least in Asia. The whole of Manila was leveled during the war, and a number of cities in the Philippines from north to south of the country were bombed by the Japanese from the onset of the attack in the Pacific.
We did NOT know any of this, I think we grew up in the UK watching films about WW2 and in these films they always focused on the European/American side of the war. We have never come across many films or tv series based on the experiences in this side of the world (apart from the tv series “The Pacific”) we think there should be more. Thanks for watching ❤

the best part of Manila is Makati CBD (around Greenbelt/Ayala/Salcedo area, not to be confused with Poblacion, which is redlight Makati) and BGC- which is like Makati CBD but way newer
We really enjoyed Makati, We stayed stayed there for 2 nights at the end of our week in Manila. Lots of cool restaurants and coffee shops there!

I think people should start speaking about the scammers at fort bonifacio. Those people posing as tourist guides have victimized so many vloggers already. They will at start present a very cheap deal. After the tour, they will charge you exhorbitant fares like overtime pays, or there are two of you so double the fee. These scammers will end up charging you by the thousands of pesos when the original deal is just a few hundreds
Luckily we weren’t victim to this and the money understanding was completely our fault! But definitely good for others to know that this can happen. Thanks so much for watching 🇵🇭❤️
Blame goes to the current do nothing Mayor Lacuna of Manila. She needs to be eyes and ears to what is going on around her jurisdiction, stepping out of her cushy throne in the city hall every now and then instead of laying eggs or warming her seat all day. The former Mayor would not have allowed these scammers to proliferate during his tenure. Get busy Manila mayor!
Philippines was super rich during Pre-War. Richer than China, Korea, and second to Japan, Korea was behind 50x than the Philippines, but now we were behind 100x in economy lol. After the world war and poor leadership the Philippines economy drop. We were colony of Spain for 300 years and Philippines was part of USA for 50 years and thennnn Boooom poor Philippines after world war.

You should also visit Greenhills the fake brand capital of the world. The old Manila is best for museums the oldest Chinatown in the world island hopping in corregidor and Camaya and of course the Manila bay sunset.

For a travel vlogger, I’m surprised that you don’t know that you have to know the entry requirements of the country you are entering. That information is readily available and you should have researched it before starting your travel. It’s your responsibility to do that.
You said you didn’t know about the onward ticket requirement. Why is that in place? Citizens of certain countries can stay in the Philippines for 30 days without a visa. I believe you fall in that category. To ensure that you don’t overstay, onward ticket is required. Just because you are a backpacker, it does not entitle you to special treatment.
We did research the travel requirements for entering the Philippines but onward travel wasn’t mentioned as it depends on the airline you fly with and isn’t always compulsory. Everyone in the queue at the airport had the same problem as us as we weren’t made aware. The customs declaration can also only be done at the airport but wasn’t a problem at all for us. We know about onward travel BUT we have never been asked for it in the 12+ years of flying as “responsible” adults! We understand onward travel as a whole, but do believe Air Asia could do a lot more to let people know about it beforehand in emails, ESPECIALLY the thousands of backpackers who use their services daily.
I think if you want kore subscriber and view you should stay here atleast 3months thats what other vloggers doing

Actually you guys don't need a tour guide it's already in English which saves you money! Used your cellphone goggle maps much easier.

Its much safer in the Philippines.... Guns are regulated unlike in the US... The banks and malls have guards with their guns and rarely used it...
Coming from the UK we rarely see guns and when we do it’s normally within airports. So we were shocked when seeing security with guns in pharmacies & malls etc. Saying that it’s very good to hear the regulations taken by the Philippines 🇵🇭 ❤️

it was that chinese pirate who established camp in panggasinan in the northern luzon and taught filipinos up there to eat dog that is why most dog eaters are in the northern luzon.
