because it doesn't have much of a hull its a low deadrise boat. So hiting waves in a lake is a little rough to say the least. its designed for rivers primarily

Outstanding boat! What is the approximate top speed? Can I use it in salt water?

Top speed is about 47mph. You could use this boat in saltwater, just would want to be extra diligent on cleaning and maintenance to prevent corrosion.

They still work well on lakes, a jet drive will just never be as good as a prop in rough water as they are more prone to cavitation and the hulls usually are designed with a flatter deadrise resulting in a rougher ride.
