- The start of something magical. A jet Jon, or mini jet boat, or jon ski, or cheap ghetto jet stream whatever you wanna call it it’s gonna be cool. This is part one of the build taking a stx12f jet ski and putting the motor in a 12ft Jon boat

Always clean alloy afore you weld it😊 and only for example on use that wire brush for alloy and you will get much better weld 😊

It was nice watching you experiment without a spool gun. You may already know this but aluminum is extremely sensitive about how much prep you do. Make sure you use the right abrasives for aluminum. You can have the best spool gun in the world but you will still have poor welds with a dirty surface.

clean clean clean with SS wire brush if you have it wipe down with isopropanol just before welding and that's 3/4 of welding ally..chew out your start and stops with tungsten blade before welding also for good penetration. And if you can't see the weld hump coming through on the other side it's not hot enough. hope this helps you folks

Na.. it was pretty much all gone by the time I was done with the build.
Put stringers in one on each side under where your motor mounts are

Bolt it to the aluminum and use submersible adhesive/calk to seal it

Flex tape it will float
Just clean your joints before you weld .. use a stainless brush that is specific to this job .. coming from a youtube jockey who hasn’t welded aluminum.. so do check this fyi

It was wrecked, sank, and no title.. after I got all the water out of everything it ran fine
