The way that this man went from a pushy jerk to the best-written character in the game is absolutely nuts.

i love how arven sounds so happy, he went on a big adventure, made new friends, and got his best friend back from deaths door, honestly love how happy he sounds while singing

I think we all can agree that Arven has the absolute best story and character development in all of Pokémon.

I don't really like Arven tbh. The only part I like about him is how funny some out of context quotes of his are. (Unpopular opinion, I know.)
Arven has to be the biggest 180 I've done on a character once I learned more about them. He deserves his dog to be alive, all the hugs in the world and a *very* good therapist.
The delivery is really fun with this cover, from the softer, emotional falsetto/belting(?) as Arven briefly recounts his fears and worries throughout the journey to his more triumphant, celebratory singing as he turns his thoughts back to the present. Also, I caught that "seasoned traveller" line - that was a clever one!

Funfact: His original (japanese) name is Pepper. (Which they also used in other translations like the german and french one)
Not only do Arven’s new teammates all reflect his cooking expertise, they’re also decent choices for the respective Titans he brings them out against.
Shellder/Cloyster: a shellfish and a Water-Type, which helps to weather the cracks in Klawf’s rocky shell.
Nacli/Garganacl: A rock-salt golem to “cure” the massive Bombirdier, hurting it even as it might fly away.
Toedscool/Toedscruel: A walking fungus that turns the steely Orthwurm’s burrowing ground and weight against it.
Scovillain: A pair of pernicious peppers with plant and pyre powers - respective good against Great Tusk or Iron Treads.
Skwovet/Greedent - stores food and has a great defense, basic consideration when the next trial might or might not... _drag on._

I love it when you just sing with your normal voice. You actually have really good vocals and can make any range sound good. I love your voice acting too but you can’t always hit those notes and make it sound as great when you’re petraying some quirky character.

I’m absolutely tickled pink to hear this track as a lovely contrast to the sinister tones of the Magolor collection! Arven is filled with the positivity and growth that takes us along his journey with him, as our best friend.

This line alone cements him as one of my favorite stories so for a rival so far. You captured this feeling so well in this song

The thing about Arven is that he has such a good team too. He’s got quite a lot of coverage!

I remember fighting Arven, fot a guy who says he's more of a cook than a trainer, his pokemon were higher levels than mine! 😅. To add insult to injury I had 3 ghost types, 2 grass types, and Spidops on my team at the time. Great lyrics, really fits him!

I'll never forget the noble match I had against Arven. His Scovillain vs my Scovillain. He was also one of two difficult battles in the main game due to his Mabosstiff. The other being Eri due to her Revaroom setting up to demolish me. Arven's a pretty cool character, and I'm glad his fight was as tough as it was for my Playthrough of Violet.

There’s something small that I find kinda funny and ironic about Arven. I’ve been playing Pokemon Scarlet in Spanish instead of English, and his name is changed to “Damian” in the Spanish version. Recognize that name? It’s the same as Charmander’s original trainer! A character who is willing to bend over backwards to save the life of his beloved partner Pokemon has the same name as someone who left a Pokemon to die in the rain for being too weak!

I really hope Pokémon keeps it up with having actually well written and likable reoccurring characters in future games. I was so prepared for Arven to be just another Bede (who I don’t hate but he’s far from interesting) then by the end of things I was tearing up by how touching his story was.
I hope we get to hear this again when we send them to the Blueberry Club after we beat the Epilogue that releases in a couple of weeks.
Can we all ignore the bugs and performance issues for once and take a moment to appreciate what Scarlet & Violet's characters and the stories has to offer.
