Great video. Thanks for the tip about the zip ties on the wheels. I’m always hesitant about doing the white lettering on the tires. I gotta start doing it more. It gives the buggy that “finishing touch”.
I remember when it was about 160-175 USD back when it first came out I purchased my first tamiya Blackfoot on layaway 125 USD from coliseum hobby the avante and hotshot were next to each other as the more advanced kits the original bruiser was there as well for about 200.00 dollars lol🎉🎊🎋🎊🎉🎊. Love your channel Tamiya forever
Glenn, bad luck with the diff, but that happens. Sounds like you need a replacement. Your work on the buggy shows the immense joy that you receive from them. I’m glad to have found your excellent channel. Btw, I decided not to open the Kyosho and am going to make a rere out of a new Blizzard. I can’t wait to see your work on a Tamiya tank!
Assuming youre using ball diff grease it should feel smooth but slightly gritty (there is grit in the ball diff grease to prevent slippage) . If it feel notchy or crunchy either one or more balls is messed up or one a race face is damaged. Chances are if any one part is messed up they all will be. You can try flipping the races but many times the other side will have already been used. If you aren't using ball diff grease on the actual diff balls the diff will never run right (it will be smooth though). Most of the time they will have to be way to tight to prevent slipping and won't work correctly.
Another awesome and informative video my friend quick question I need some Shocks and springs for my Tamiya Cosworth it's the plastic split chassis version where the chassis comes in 2 half's I need some softer Springs as it bounces everywhere could you point me in the right direction are give me any information on them if you don't mind😎👍🇬🇧😊
Leons rc hobbys I’d always recommend Tony’s Tamiya parts buddy, if you’re on Facebook or eBay. He is one of the most knowledgeable Tamiya experts out there 🤓👊🏻
Looks like you used some white ceramic grease. You should really use ball diff grease. The Avante center diff is not the ajustable kind. It should be fully tightened, otherwise it won't fit properly (overall length) and the meshing with the other conical gear will be all wrong. It should be hard to turn by hand. By the sound of it, your rings and/or balls might be damaged. You can try to use the other side of the rings if you've not tried it yet.
@@TAMIYALegends I don't understand, why Tamiya refuse to upgrade all their plastic part, using fiber reinforced for greater durability, especially the old vintage model

I’m looking forward to your build buddy, although I’ve had lots of them I’ve never built one from scratch 😞
Its such a rewarding build. I do hope you enjoy it, I've built three of them, two 2011, and on B.S. Awesome cars.
Love that car, I'm very jealous . Great vids

Hi, again that notchiness could be down to tiny dents in the plates where the bearings run?. Steve UK.
Stephen Stott
Yeah that’s a good point Stephen,, thanks for watching buddy 👊🏻
Great work man, every time I see you work on it I want one more n more. Is the black edtion the same kit minus the colors?
ZERO'S HOBBIES
Yes pretty much buddy, it does come with the Racing steering set as standard though 😊👊🏻
If ball diffs feel gritty, its usually time to change balls and plates. Also change the thrust bearing. The diff should feel smooth.
Matt Gregg
Yep you’re were right buddy, I ended up stripping it again and as you said it was all worn 😞
Did you use proper ball diff grease
Lee Hurst
No I didn’t 😬🔫
I’d actually finished with the car and was getting it ready to move on. Bad mistake I know 😬
Great Video Bro... I love it... Can you make video for Tamiya Nitro Thunder NDF-01. Thanks Bro..
Ronald Rosales
Yeah hopefully I’ll do that in the future 👊🏻

Hi, there "e-clips" not circlips, I was going to tell you about Tony's rc parts I didn't because the P&P might of been huge?!,. Steve UK.

I use Tony’s Tamiya parts a lot buddy 👊🏻
That diff sounds like the balls and washer surfaces are damaged. But I will always keep away from cars with ball diffs.
Bas Boy RC
Yeah I don’t seem to have much look with them at all 😞
@@TAMIYALegends I think gear diffs with AWG are the best solution as it makes the diff limited.
