Can't believe I see so many crappie fisherman who haven't trolled for crappies. You don't have to use Bandits like Mike Baker who gets a semi load wants a month. Number 5 Flicker shads, Rapala shad raps, Arkies work great. Use braid with 3ft floral leader. That way if you get snagged you can pull it out most the time. Troll to you find them then work the area. Once you get on to it you won't go back to a bobber. By the way nice video.
Definitely love trolling for them. We love trolling flickers too. But the bandits were killing it on this lake so we stuck with it. We just finished a trolling vs livescope video. Thanks for watching
Thats Avocado Splatter Back not Citrus Shad. Great job fellows ! Simple setup all it takes, cranks most expensive part of it especially when u break off several
hope you do another on trolling, need all the info and help i can get i am not having any luck trolling trying to learn, how much line did you have out and will arkie cranks work as good as bandit?
No problem happy to help. In the video we we basically just make a good long cast with 10 lb braided line and that’s good enough to get those bandit 300’s down 13feet or so. I haven’t tried the Arkie cranks but I’m sure they would work. What would you like to see in another trolling video? Thanks for watching!
You can definitely troll with a big motor! That’s how I started trolling. Just try and troll it 1-2 mph max. It will work just fine if you get your bait down there!
Just follow the channel, and look for thermocline. Maybe some of the creek arms and their channels on bull shoals too. You might not use high vis braid like we do at bulk shoals. May go straight fluorocarbon
We don’t have trout in our lakes around here so we don’t have to worry about that. I doubt there is a technique problem. Crappie suspend so it’s just a matter of getting it in front of them
@@ThatsAGoodFish yes it is. We usually catch a lot of fish trolling. Sometimes we even find a good spring bite and catch 4 or 5 different species in one day.
Super successful method of fishing, but not my pint of beer... Awesome for hanging out, chilling with the friends, but not interactive enough for me...(although I do sit on a bank with a rod holder and crawler on the bottom... 🤦)
Yeah I hear ya, I like casting and more active fishing too. But sometimes on a super hot day, this is a good way to catch a ton of fish. But I get what you’re saying for sure!
Definitely does, and in the summer around here for white bass, hybrids, crappie, walleye it can be the most effective way to get em. I also know lots of people LOVE to do it, so I wanted to make a video showing some tips and tricks for sho.
It doesn’t in our experience. Often times we use high visibility braid but most of our lakes in the Midwest have some color and aren’t super clear. If they are super clear I might run fluorocarbon leader
@KamperFish we are mostly Kansas Missouri Oklahoma Arkansas. K-9 yellow is good. Power pro braid is good, I’m not that picky when it comes to high vis braid honestly.
Hey that’s my Algebra teacher!!
🔥🔥

Perfect! I didn’t know the name! Thanks!
That a good video! Love the hat, TY for the mention! #BudsBait
Always rep Bud’s bait!
I fish a little bit if stained water in the late spring/summer so I have a couple of few of the crazy crappie specific colors as well
Color can be a big deal sometimes!
Bandits? Check shad raps! Check? Flicker shads? Check. Trolling box approved 👍
Don’t need anything else!
"For me it was probably age 30. I started getting old, out of shape..." I'm dead from this lmao
Truth from a true troller!
I like it fellers !! if it's crappie count me in 👍
Thanks for watching
i like that soundstrack
White bass taste Amazing!
They aren’t bad that’s for sure!
Just like crappie if you take out the red meat. And way more fun to catch.
They aren’t bad, taking the red meat out helps a ton.
What a day!
Was incredible, tons of bites! Can’t beat it
Great video as always! - Hilarious intro, I definitely need to start trolling!!!
Thanks a lot, appreciate it guys. It’s a good way to catch a ton of suspended fish quickly for sure.
Total Slabfest 💪
Yes it was, thanks for watching bro

Nice job boys. Thank you for the tips
No problem! We have a new video out where we are shooting docks and fishing brush piles for crappie!
@@ThatsAGoodFish Awesome brother I will check it out!
Thanks for checking out our channel!
Sounds good thanks for checking out our channel!
Fish on Fish on 😂
It can be that quick!
Good video. Just subscribed to the channel. Thanks for the tips
Thanks a lot! We Plan on doing another one on trolling vs. livescope
Good video. Thanks.
Thanks a lot Mike! Look forward to seeing more of yours!
Can u troll with the two stroke or does that spook em? I dont have a remote on my trolling motor
You can definitely troll with a big motor! That’s how I started trolling. Just try and troll it 1-2 mph max. It will work just fine if you get your bait down there!
@@ThatsAGoodFish Appreciate all the help!!
do you have to reel in to turn around with that many lines out or can you make wide enough sweep?
Super wide turns and you’re good
Great video. Me & my son are gonna give it a try. Where should we start? In creeks? Main lake?
Main lake. Look for the channel and just start there, follow the channel and look for swings in the channel.
Thanks. I will give that a try. We fish Bull Shoals and it is so deep. I was thinking it might be too deep
Just follow the channel, and look for thermocline. Maybe some of the creek arms and their channels on bull shoals too. You might not use high vis braid like we do at bulk shoals. May go straight fluorocarbon
Black back silver belly my favorite do you ever try that color
Haven’t tried it yet but I’ll give it a go!
Good video.
Thanks a lot! Makes you wanna troll huh?
BOOM 💥
Thanks for watching bro!
What lake, it was beautiful!?
Would pulling cranks post spawn be good? Like a 10ft flat
Absolutely. Trolling is great post spawn. We usually do best relating to the channel but if there is bait around the flat maybe so
I’m a crappie fisherman and have been all my life but y’all are missing out, those white bass are good eaters too
They aren’t bad, but we mostly stick to crappie! But sure love catching the white bass! They are fun!
I notice I pretty much only pick up trout when I pull cranks. Is there a technique I’m missing or is this just a me and my lake problem?
We don’t have trout in our lakes around here so we don’t have to worry about that. I doubt there is a technique problem. Crappie suspend so it’s just a matter of getting it in front of them
Nice video. Next time be sure to add. 9 times out of ten. If the fish comes to the surface immediately. It is a crappie
You’re probably right about that! Definitely seems like that now that I think about it. Thanks for watching man
What rod holders are those?
Made by Millennium I believe
Just curious, what speed were you trolling?
Trolling 1.5 mph most of the day.
Thank you! Great video. I subscribed!!
I appreciate it, tried to be as detailed as possible!
Yup, I'm to old to Bass fish all day. So me and my fishing buddy do a lot of trolling.
Nothing wrong with that! It’s a great way to catch a ton of fish
@@ThatsAGoodFish yes it is. We usually catch a lot of fish trolling.

@@ThatsAGoodFish believe me, I definitely get it. The whole point is to put fins in bins, and trolling gets fins for sure!!!

That's legit, Paden.
What length rod were you using?
Mainly just 6.5’ spinning combos. I’ve done it with 10 ft rods as well and those work. Actually better sometimes to keep lines away from each other.
What size fishing line?
Always use 10 lb braid
Does color of braid matter?
It doesn’t in our experience. Often times we use high visibility braid but most of our lakes in the Midwest have some color and aren’t super clear. If they are super clear I might run fluorocarbon leader

Huh?
@@ThatsAGoodFish sorry 'bout that.....What lake was that?
