    This is the video I’ve been looking for. I grew up fishing Clark’s Hill lake in SC (I refuse to call it Lake Thurmond) and married a gal who eventually inherited her family place so for 30 years I knew all the spots. Life change at 55, and I now live on Lake Hartwell and have just gotten into long lining here. You provided many tips I’ll use for sure. God Bless!

    Excellent video. I am recently retired and live near Dale Hollow Lake in TN. I plan to start crappie fishing. I have been surfing TH-cam on the subject of spider fishing... and... Yours is the most informative and helpful video I have found. Thank you so much. Truly, thank you.

    You have to love that Mr Crappie high vis line. There are a lot of bright green line on the market but for me it’s just better. Smooth as silk and never seems to set a coil on the reel. And a good value for the money

    Good info one thing that changed my fishing was a remote control GPS trolling motor.

    enjoyed watching your video, hope you do great with your channel, i grew up crappie fishing at night using minnows under lights, thats all i knew, fishing buddy of mine asked me to go crappie fishing with him and i said sure, got my minnow bucket and rod, he ask me why did i bring a minnow bucket , he did stop at the bait store and let me buy some minnows, but he used crappie jigs, i could not believe how many fish he caught on jigs, i have not bought any more minnows, trolling jigs is a fun way to fish, it does not cost an arm and a leg to do it and it is a great way to catch em year round

    I fish a kayak with no fish finder and between 2 to 4 rods. Another tactic is adding bobbers to your line when trolling. You can troll slow, troll shallow, or troll deep but maintain your baits shallow if you want.

    I too am a pastor in North Carolina. I fish High Rock some. It is a a two hour drive for me from Crouse. I also troll. Any recommendations as to where to troll on High Rock, it is a large lake.

      It really depends on the time of year. In the spring you want to troll the creeks but in fall and winter, lots of times the main channel is good

    You should look into Stren high viz gold original 4 # line. That's what I troll with. Excellent line. Also, instead of Road Runner heads, look up Grenada Lake Tackle.

    What time of the year is best for long line trolling? Are certain weather conditions more favorable?

    • @brilliantfishingnc
      @brilliantfishingnc  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could ll troll anytime, but I would say spring is best, followed by fall and winter. Summer, in my opinion is not very productive. At least on my home lakes, in summer, fish go deep on brush which makes trolling hard.
