As our genration enters the autumn of our lives soon to be just memories our granchildren will stumble across this and they will say wow you were cool.
i watched the documentary about them how their manager ripped them off then they left him for another manager who ripped them off. they also wasnt given much musical freedom until later on in their career. they was also persuaded not to tour america they could have achieved far more had they had the right backing
@@jamielogan5057 I know they were ripped off. The great rock and roll swindle. However…they were just the best. I would ride my scooter that was fully liveried and would be singing at the top of my voice any song by the small faces.
@@kevinbird9194 I was born in the late 70s but got into the faces about 20 years after listening to itchy coo park which had a unique sound even by today's standards the hollow drum sound which probably would have been difficult to create then but this is my favourite song of theirs followed by tin soldier
@@themancaveclubvery true my friend demons are sometimes very hard to beat and he didn't deserve the death especially so young but rest assured he will never be forgotten r.i.p Steve xx
Don‘t worry Hilary. My Dad would be celebrating his 78th Birthday next week, he unfortunately died in 2016, but he always wanted me to hear this great music since I was born. Great music will never die!
I was fourteen when this great song came out,my favorite group from the 60s,i remember buying one of those combs with a razor blade attached trying to copy Stevies haircut, disaster, got no hair at all now, seen him few years later when he was in Humble Pie with the great Peter Frampton, went to young,RIP,
It really is amazing the talent that came out in the 60's, just one band after another, the Small Faces were brilliant along with the Spencer Davis Group, The Kinks the list goes on and on
That brought me back to the sixties. Hipsters, desert boots , sea dog bell bottomed jeans, mods and rockers, the brilliance of George Best, the Vietnam war, Woodstock....... the list could go on and on suffice to say, there'll never be another decade like it!!
There was nothing simple about Small Faces music. So well written and performed. Yes they should've been bigger, but they could never be more important to the evolution of rock and roll. Their music was so diverse. They left their mark on the music world.
I was crazy about the Small Faces and saw them perform many times. They were as good live as on record. Even when they appeared in relatively quet settings, such as on the piers at Blackpool they always gave their all.
Started being interested in popular music with Cliff& Shads aged 10 restricted to tv and a little radio or ( the wireless ) as we called it then.! Then Beatles nearly home grown as I lived in north Wales, A move to Sth East London in 1964 let me grow into a teenager in the still mod scene. I saw this band 10 times at least,Great musicians then and still to day. Ronnie Lane particularly
As our genration enters the autumn of our lives soon to be just memories our granchildren will stumble across this and they will say wow you were cool.
There are no words to describe just how good this band were and how fantastic they still sound now.
“How good the band ‘was’ vs. were 😉 and all this time I thought UFO wrote this song…doh 😏

You're so true Kevin Bird
Those of us who lived in this generation were truly blessed. We didn't know it then but this was as good as it would ever be.
Marriott had it all - voice, style, showmanship - a powerhouse. Greatest voice of them all.
UNIQUE TALENT, NOT MANY ABOUT THEN, OR NOW.
@@andymatthews7617😂
Yes and the poor sod died skint because of agents ripping him off
@@CorinthiaBlade1889 typical of money grabbing agents, disgusting.
Steve Marriott was an earth- shatteringly amazing artist!! He was outstanding in Small Faces and Humble Pie as well!! RIP STEVE
Still is - compared to the second-rate stuff around now
Yeah, he was amazing for sure. He died too young, only 44. It seems he had some demons he was dealing with.
Wow such a beautiful comment and so true proper genius legend and inspiration gone too soon Steve r.i.p love forever x

@@LeaCoad Such a unique artist and we certainly will not see another human like him on this planet.
One of the greatest bands of their day, however, very underrated, yet so talented.
underexposed in North America , NOT underrated
I'm of that generation I'm 77 now and soon it will be gone and just a memory and what music have my grandchildren got?
Yea ride on Hilary I presume from Bromley??? How true your words are Steve was the best vocalist ever such power in his voice.
Don’t worry Hilary, truly great music will live forever
Don't worry mate, I'm 37 and I get my kids to listen

I used to see Steve Marriott at the Torrington in North Finchley. Brilliant venue now a coffee shop. So many of my haunts have gone now...

Not many 12 year old love the small face KTF they were an absolute fantastic band ❤
Nice to see youngsters appreciating arguably the best era of music 60's and 70's.
Same here mate!
For how little he was, his voice was so, Earth shattering and so bold!! Just loved them!😊
One best songs ever what a voice
So sind wir aufgewachsen , einfach Geile Musik , Danke .
Bloody brilliant. These bands had soul and understood what music was. Well before all the gimmicks and auto dubbing.
It really is amazing the talent that came out in the 60's, just one band after another, the Small Faces were brilliant along with the Spencer Davis Group, The Kinks the list goes on and on
Yep little Steve Winwood and little Steve Marriott both were known for their incredible vocals in the 60s…….. and even now.
Heute nicht mehr erreichbar.
Yes we really were the lucky generation. We will never see their like again

Thank you. Beautiful boys, wonderful music. Please keep them coming. will never forget them, listen to them daily.
Great era 74 now can still dance along with these songs ❤😂xxx

The stones couldn't touch them for style, sound, and energy, ,Steve Marriott's voice was out of this word.
That Steve Marriott had sick vocals was a slick producer, arranger and guitarist. Much missed. Even the Queen has to tip her hat to the Faces
So sad they've all left us now. Saw them live back in the 60s - brilliant. Never forgotten.
The tribute band - The Small Fakers - very good. Would recommend 👍
@@janicelee9709Thanks. I'll look them up.😊
What a brlliant performance
I look back and see just how lucky we were the faces , hollies , searchers ,stones and of caurse the Beatles kids today you know nothing.
My generation fantastic times fantastic music 🎶
ABSOLUTELY, WE WERE LUCKY TO BE PART OF THAT SCENE, SO SAD IT HAD TO END.
WE GOT OLDER 😢BUT STILL LOVE THE MUSIC AND MEMORIES ❤

Great video, from one of my favorite groups. Favorite because their music will be in my brain forever. Thank you.
Saw them in the mid 60s. I was going out with the drummer in the support band at the time. They sounded good back then.

I really wish these guys got the recognition they deserve. I'm just getting into them at 46. They inspire more than words could express
They never toured in the US…may have changed things (or not), either way, I agree!
My favourite Small Faces tune. My anthem of Love, life, truth, compassion.
toll meine jugend erinnerung 1970
Loved it then, love it now; I’ll love it always and ever

first class band
Are there creative experts from the Small Faces group here? I need to get answers to some rather complex questions.
An iconic band quite unique and Marriott eclipsed Jagger by a country mile IMO Think of the Stones with him as lead vocalist!
