I just made a dan bing for myself! With some kimchi(from Korea), ZOTT cheeze(from Germany), pancake skin(Handmade form market lady) and Chenyuanho soy sauce paste(from Yunling Xiluo). Also mesona tea with ice! Fresh and yummy!! Welcome to Taiwan again!! BTW, you can make Dan Bing at home!

Nice and informative
My dad is Taiwanese & Samoan. His father was Taiwanese and mother Samoan.
My siblings and I were often mistaken as Filipinos but recently learned of that Tai blood so it kind of made sense haha.
Want to learn more about Taiwanese culture even though my dad’s father was not present for a number of reasons. But some part of me still wants to honour that blood and legacy that still flows through our veins. Love coming across these videos! Really makes you feel at home and part of the experience.

I went to Taipei in April but it was too short. I want to go back. We spent most of our time in Seoul, Korea. My favorite in Taipei was the shave ice. There’s emerging Taiwan restaurants in Hawaii. I’m from Hawaii.

How easy is it for foreigners to order with out being able to read Chinese characters.? I see some menus with photos but mostly I see signboards with a number at the bottom.

Can you actually bring those dried fruit back in aussie?
I went there at the start of the year and I’ve been trying to find the sauce they put on the green onion pancakes, I thought it was like an oyster sauce but you are saying their soy sauce is different to ones you can find in Australia? I tried googling but it would just come up with a dipping sauce. What should I look for in an Asian grocery store in Australia?

Love the vid. I’d be curious to know why so much dairy is used in Taiwan? I’m assuming there’s the same lactose problems as rest of Asia. Is it the American influence?
I would say most people consume soy milk here. I’ve noticed that apart from milk, a lot of dairy products are imported.

I am in USA but I am a permanent resident in Taiwan. I miss it. USA sucks 😅. Huzhou bing, sanbeijee, steamed whole fish are all great. Plus you can drink beer or alcohol anywhere and the police aren't thugs.

Roasted duck, cha siu, bbq pork, pineapple bun are Cantonese. Those are Cantonese food in Taiwan, not taiwanese food lol
Taiwan is a dangerous place if you want to watch your weight XD
should look into the vegetarian culture of Taiwan as well
Please learn basic mandarin or taiwanese language, at least, before all these shootings, dude. Gutted to see someone from an English-based country talking to local citizens who do not speak Westernised English. You won't do this if it is in Paris or Tokyo, but why in Taipei?
