Great video man! I've been considering the Mac mini as my main work desktop as I can't have a MacBook Air, but then I thought for portability are looking into getting the iPad mini. I'm not fully ready to meet the switch just yet, but this video has been a great eye-opener. I want something that I can just import footage on using the iPad mini whilst on the shoot and then do simple cuts on and sometimes even use the iPad mini as a monitor when I have to. One quick question I have for you though is have you ever tried using an adapter or dongle of some sort where you can import footage from a mirrorless camera and at the same time, use an external SSD via the iPad to import the files onto the drive rather than the iPad itself (if that makes sense). Funny enough, I have the same SSD as you in that video. Mine is 4 tb. As minimalist, this is a god send and I got such a good deal on it. £180 here in UK. Anyways, you have me subscribed and followed on social! Keep up the fantastic work! 👊🏻
Thank you for this. I wanted to upgrade from my ipad air 4 64gb to mini 7 or air 6, and I'm also torn between 128 or 256gb of storage. This video is a sign for me to get the mini.
Yeah I think you’ll appreciate the upgrade. As far as storage just really take in your usage habits. Since I’ll mainly be using mine for editing which I’ll be utilizing ssd’s I knew I could get away with 128gb. But if you plan to store a lot of photos or use it for gaming, having that 256gb cushion could make a big difference.
Yup! I should have pointed it out in the video but you can tell FCP is working off the drive because there’s a little SSD icon next to the project name in the main project menu.
@ I plan to get a mini to study for my post grad degree. I will be using it mainly for note taking, media consumption, light gaming. Do you think I can live by with 128GB for the next 2-3 years (until a new mini comes out)
Thanks for this
You should start making lot more videos. You have a great presenting skill.
Really appreciate that! Working to upload more consistently on here

I have the iPad Pro 1st generation was thinking on getting the new mini just for the size and portability is that a good idea🤔
If more portability is was you’re looking for then absolutely. It’s nice and compact and can run more pro apps thanks to the upgraded chip

Did you edit the project directly from the SSD right ???
