I totally forgot to mention that the tablet doesn't have any customizable buttons on it :P But that's because my Cintiq doesn't either - I just use the expresskey remote or keyboard shortcuts. Honestly, I've never been able to get on-tablet buttons into my workflow, so I prefer the clean design and more room to draw without buttons in the way of being accidentally pressed. I pretty much think of this as a budget-friendly cintiq with the wacom software & drivers, half the pressure sensitivity, a different pen - at half the price. If it's not for you, no worries! But I've bought my share of tablets since my first one back in 2007, and for me personally, I think this one is definitely worth the price :)
The main issue is that you can't switch between monitors without these buttons, and the only option you have is to set ONE ONLY button on your pen.... or spend another 100 USD just to have this basic functionality. No thanks Wacom, Huion Kamvas 13 is a much better option for now.
Do you know if this tablet is supported by toon boom harmony? The website says they support wacom bamboo, intuos and cintiq, but other sources say they support all wacom tablets.
thanks for making this! I’m trying to teach myself different types of animation and invested in a good laptop but didn’t know what to do hand drawing wise. I really didn’t wanna buy an ipad if I didn’t HAVE to, so this video was incredibly helpful! Can’t wait to get this.
Been using a 22 HD Cintiq for 6 years. Love it. But when I travel my speed goes down considerably using the Intuos tablet. This Wacom One might be the solution for working on the go.
I've been using a small basic Wacom Intuos for years now and upgraded it to the Intuos Pro S in college. Been needing an upgrade for a while and this video convinced me to finally get the Wacom One. Amazing review!!
I've had a Wacom intuos comic since 2016 and decided to buy a new tablet, got a huion medium tablet and the cable is terrible although it's USB-C, on top of that the surface scratches easily, I've had to replace the pen nib every week. Not so happy with Huion, that's why I still use my old trusty Wacom, and I have just replaced the pen nib after 5 years. Durability really plays a major role in these devices. And I'm so glad that Wacom finally released a more budget friendly display tablet. I'm saving money to buy this tablet to up my production quality. Great video as always!!! Very helpful
I've always wanted to get a cintiq. So I always thought it would be my go-to-tablet the day I think I need to upgrade from my Intuos Pro. Drawing on a display seems a lot nicer than drawing on a regular graphics tablet. XP-Pen looks like a fine contender for only $350 (Artist 13.3 Pro) , as well as the Huion for a bit less. I heard the Artist 12 Pro was really good!
Thank you so much for this review. I was undecided, definitely needed something to boost my artwork to that next level. Think I am now ready to try this one out.
Was getting wacom one since it was on sale for like half its price, but was worried i was half assing my decision by going cheaper, but this sounds much better than any pc tablet ive drawn well with in the past. Thanks for your review and now feel more confident :D
Wow, thanks so much for showcasing Clip Studio! I don't have a single artistic bone in my body, and so I rely on 3D modeling/tools/software algorithms to do all the heavy lifting. Lately I've had to get into drawing characters and so I was thinking there's got to be something out there that has skeletal posing and meshes to trace over. And sure enough, you showcase exactly what I was hoping to find and it blew my mind. There are other tablets out there at the same price point with more hardware features, but this software makes the Wacom tablet a huge steal on its own.
problem is the extra deep space they made that holding cable plug to get inside that in another way. if that was simple on the side no deep then it would b normal
Definitely one of the best reviews I've seen for the Wacom One, been debating on whether I should get it or not. Thank you, you've really helped me with making my decision easier.
5:11 The way you hold the pen causes me physical pain. great review. its good to see wacom enter the less expensive market. im still sticking to my ugee(its one of the generic chinese brand screen tablets) cause you are either a very large dude or that screen is a pretty small workspace. features and build quality look good. seems like a great tablet if you dont mind a slightly smaller workspace. if you can get over a small work space this looks like the tablet to buy with no competition coming close to it(wacom's drivers never present issues like many alternative companies and thats a big issue with windows 10 automatic updates potentially breaking things).
Yeah I agree, it is nice they are entering the cheaper market. But the 13inch screen is definitely made just for portability. I used to use an Ugee! I am currently running on a Huion however. And if you are looking for something like this at a better price point with a bigger screen and better specs. Try the GT-191_V2 from Huion, 396$ 19.5 inch screen. What is the current Ugee you are using? Is it even better?
Yeah definitely one of their better price per performance ones. If you haven't gotten it yet there is cheaper alternatives with better overall specs(and screens). I definitely suggest looking into them!
Thanks for this, and all your other videos. A similar tablet is Huion's Kamvas 13. They sell a USB-C to USB-C cable that will utilize the full power of your Thunderbolt- enabled USB-C port, enabling only that cable for full function. Some artists like the Huion better, with a laminated screen, two pen buttons, and built in hotkeys. Like this Wacom, it also supports Android. It's also 150 bux less expensive. I own the 2019 Kamvas Pro 13, which is powered by a 12volt wall adapter, but very similar. I love it for 3D work, and wonder how you would rate the Huion compared to the Wacom.
Have you used this tablet with After Effects at all? I'm guessing it works perfectly fine with it since it works smoothly with Maya! With WFH currently I'm struggling a bit on my tiny intuos!
@Mamxiiruu Amazing! I dont have a lot of space because my apartment is very small and the wacom one has the same size as my laptop It fits on my table and it is like real drawing (I plugged it in and started)
Thank you so much for this video. I couldn't believe it. That it brings all of that. I also really wanted to know about the pens. As of late, I have been making the worst possible decision when getting software and computers. I brought a wacom cintique and mom recently broke the digital pen. Now, mom tried to make it up, but we didn't have enough money for the thing that I needed. The Cintique doesn't have the display, which has been throwing me off. As of late, I have been using the sketchbook on my phone.

Just found this channel. Always interested in 3d modeling. Plan on doing some TH-cam tutorials. Anyways is this any better then a Samsung tab s6. I want to draw some pictures in high quality.
I bought one, but I can't navigate through Maya's view port as the pen doesn't have a middle mouse button. And I can't access the menus either, as some menus appear when you use the middle mouse button.
I have some questions on the tablets, this is from a total noob so my questions will probably be funny, but- Is it like a computer where you can download applications? Because I want to get an app called Fire Alpaca and I’m not sure if I can or not.
I have a question that'll probably make or break my decision buying this (and of course I'd use your link) How do you navigate 3D space with the pen if it only has 1 extra button? For Maya you need left, right and middle mouse click to move the camera. I'd assume u can only do left click and have to decide whether u want the extra button to be right or middle.
That's a good question! So while holding alt if you just use the stylus it orbits, and by default the button acts as a right click, so zoom. The only thing missing is middlemouse which is pan, but I'm pretty comfortable in Maya so I didn't even think about this while I was navigating- what I did to simulate the pan motion was just to select parts of the character I wanted to focus on or pan to, and hit F to frame them in the center of the screen, so I could orbit and zoom around them haha
@@SirWade Oh great! That's funny because I thought that's what u did in the video so I just copied how I thought u did it! Thanks for the help!! Love ur vids, saw u at CTN but was too afraid to say hi -- have a good day.

Hi Wade, I bought recently this tablet but I need help on using it for maya. With my old tablet I had Middle and right Click on both pen buttons. But I've notice that without the express keys accessory and having only one button in this pen you always get one of these click outside of the configuration for moving in maya. Is there any workaround for this in maya beside from buying another accesory?
My wacom one tablet never turned on, I mean it did work just the screen never Turned On so I never had any idea where or what I was drawing, I have no clue how to fix the issue.
How easy is it to connect to your desktop. I would assume the HDMI would need to connect to your graphic card. So if you graphic card does not have HDMI then it would not be worth considering buying it.
I've never tried the Gaomon tablets, but it's a fair question! Personally I've never used the shortcut buttons on any tablet I've ever owned - I can never get them into my workflow for some reason! So I prefer the clean design and the option to use the remote, but if you do need the hotkeys I can see why that's a drawback. Wacom's tablet drivers and software is really solid and works with just about any device though, which is super nice. Beyond that it's just preference and reliability :)
@@thecartooncynic What sort of advantages does the Wacom pen have over Gaomon's at that price point? (I'm not arguing for or against, especially since I already have a tablet I'm satisfied with. I bet your desktop settings are set to expand instead of mirror or duplicate! Go to your display settings and click the “mirror display” check box. Right now the tablet is acting as your second monitor. But you can set it to copy the main monitor if you’d prefer. A shortcut to this setting on a Windows pc would be windows key + P I think
Hi there...I'm gonna buy that Wacom One by the way.Does it support phones with usb type c cable??? Can you recommend some app that support Wacom One for me? Appreciate it if you can help me out 😁
Should I get this or stick with my mouse? I kinda want it for Zbrush, where I add small details to stuff I already modeled in Maya. Usually I use just my mouse. I have ZERO 2D artistic sense, I can't even draw a straight line. Maybe getting this won't even be an improvement for me from my mouse : /. Anyone with experience can give me advice? : ( ty
My son uses blender and keyboard / mouse. He asked for a Wacom Pro tablet and I said give me other options for lower cost. He sent this video to me. I like this price point but he points out this is advertised for beginners. Would it be a waste of time? S/W app he used btw is Blender. Interest is 3D. Thanks!
Hey man, um my dad is a professional artist on paper but he is a professional artist on paper but he always tell me that he wants to buy some time a digital drawing tablet. He is having his birthday next month and i was thinking about getting him one. I have been looking for days only to see those 700 and 3000 dollars tablets. I always knew that wacom is has the best products out there but our budget is not such high. I am thinking about getting him the wacom one 13 bc it is wacom first and secondly i cant go higher 'money'. In your opinion will he be able to make professional work with that? Beacuse anyways we cant afford a more expensive tablet. Thank you for your time !!
I think that would work just fine! If you want to find something in a smaller budget as well, XP-Pen tablets are solid alternatives and you can get a larger tablet for a bit less as well! I generally recommend both Wacom and XP-Pen depending on your needs :)
Is that scene at 8:03 from the announcement that the sequel to Breath of the Wild was in development? Do you somehow have the original file or is it fan made?
What was your pen configuration for using Maya? I'm used to the three clicks configuration but if this pen has only one side button i don't know how does it work
0:56 "This video is not Sponsored, but it is Sponsored." ok mate I died lol Luckily as far as I'm aware Wacom doesn't have a history of trying to get good reviews out of TH-cam artists, mainly due to the monopoly they have on the digitial art market already unlike other brands.
It's not sponsored, but I feel it's important to be honest with you guys by sharing that I didn't go out and buy the tablet myself - and despite that I do my best to give an objective review, free of any pressure or expectation from Wacom :)
sadly you forgot to mention that the pen comes without a second button - without a middle mouse button - and I can't imagine working in Maya without it ;) But I believe I could buy a new pen for $50 which is compatible with it and has the second button.
Please excuse my ignorance, I know absolutely nothing about animation..Im shopping for my 8yr old who is using DreamPro animator on a Nabi big tab. He makes short cartoons. Does this tablet have the capability to do that? There's so much to consider Im feeling lost 😕
I don't think so, the Nabi big tab looks like an Android tablet, which is more like a phone than a computer. As far as Android device compatibility, I checked Wacom's website and I didn't see any Navi tabs so I don't think so.
with non display tablet. U mean to say u have to guess where mouse cursor will appear / land. but with mouse we don't guess right. why with pen tablet we have to guess and just not use as a mouse. I mean cursor is visible all the time and we know that we in the corner of the screen or center so why guessing work? actually never used pen tablets so want to clear this!

Right now the tablet is acting as your second monitor. But you can set it to copy the main monitor if you’d prefer. A shortcut to this setting on a Windows pc would be windows key + P I think
Oh you’re on Mac. Go to system preferences and click display, and the options to mirror, instead of extend, should be there
Wade: "My drawings are gonna be BASIC."
Me: wAhT.
Wow.. great review!
what is the name of the button near your keyboard?? and what's the function of that thing?
Hi there...I'm gonna buy that Wacom One by the way.Does it support phones with usb type c cable???
Can you recommend some app that support Wacom One for me?
Appreciate it if you can help me out 😁
I think it does .. go check on Amazon.
Thanks!
This would be a great option for Blender :) I use a tablet for 3D, and Blender has drawing tools that the Wacom One can use perfectly
I made that; I have a video showing how I did it and everything :) th-cam.com/video/l1BVOxZFNJM/w-d-xo.html
@@SirWade Thanks!
What was your pen configuration for using Maya? I'm used to the three clicks configuration but if this pen has only one side button i don't know how does it work
Well my old 13HD just broke so it looks like this is my next tablet
0:56 "This video is not Sponsored, but it is Sponsored." ok mate I died lol
Luckily as far as I'm aware Wacom doesn't have a history of trying to get good reviews out of TH-cam artists, mainly due to the monopoly they have on the digitial art market already unlike other brands.
It's not sponsored, but I feel it's important to be honest with you guys by sharing that I didn't go out and buy the tablet myself - and despite that I do my best to give an objective review, free of any pressure or expectation from Wacom :)
Yep...
I like it cause it has the 3D thing but I'm more into 2D but I cant do movement so that's so cool
sadly you forgot to mention that the pen comes without a second button - without a middle mouse button - and I can't imagine working in Maya without it ;) But I believe I could buy a new pen for $50 which is compatible with it and has the second button.
I didn’t forget, I do talk about the pen, how it compares with the other Wacom pens, and compatibility
If i use tablet..i need use pc too..or not..or only use tablet to sculpt 3d..?
Please excuse my ignorance, I know absolutely nothing about animation..Im shopping for my 8yr old who is using DreamPro animator on a Nabi big tab. He makes short cartoons. Does this tablet have the capability to do that? There's so much to consider Im feeling lost 😕
I don't think so, the Nabi big tab looks like an Android tablet, which is more like a phone than a computer. As far as Android device compatibility, I checked Wacom's website and I didn't see any Navi tabs so I don't think so.
"You may be wondering why am chosing you things i am not good that, well, yolo right?" Bruh
Keepin' it real
with non display tablet.
The HUION Kamvas 22 Plus looks cool 140% srgb plus it's cheap
Will this work in After Effects? Need to use the tablet for both 3D animation in Blender/Mays and video VFX.
Of course! Your computer sees it as a mouse / monitor combo, so it works in literally anything
You, sir, look like Buzz Lightyear.
holy hell how'd he successfully cosplay the wacom box!
Best tablet for 3d drawings?
