Hey guys! So we decided to re-upload this video after uploading on Sunday! We appreciate everyone’s comments on that video, no matter whether you agreed or disagreed, but we felt that the video didn’t come across in the way it was intended. These videos are always intended to be educational and entertaining, but there were certain parts of the video that distracted from this! We appreciate everyone’s feedback both ways always, and in our 5+ years of doing this we’ve never deleted comments or videos, no matter the outcome, but we also have to be aware of both people featured in our videos and how it may affect them! We also just wanted to give some context to the video - the consultation for this video was around 30 minutes long, and edited down for the purposes of a cleaner, flowing video. The way the original video was edited maybe didn’t get this across enough. There was also plenty of banter within this that also didn’t get included as it was too personal for the channel! We always try to include as much as possible without editing, but an hour and 35 minute video with a 30 minute+ consultation with a lot of back and forth unfortunately needs to be edited down! So in this case, without full context we felt it was best to remove certain parts that didn’t give the full picture as we felt that was the fairest for everyone featured in the video! Thank you as always for all of your feedback and comments. Really means a lot to us!
I did not comment on the old video but i felt you did a great job discussing what was wanted and not really sure why other people would critic it. Ill watch through again and get that view counted again :D Great content on this channel!
You can be the sweetest most lovely peach in the world and there’s always gonna be somebody that doesn’t like peaches and they shouldn’t be tasting here. Bravo on your work and the channel from one professional to another
I was the person who had the hair cut in this video and can clear up a few things,, first it was a free cut but by the time I took two days off work traveled from Manchester to London inc overnight stay it cost me at least £400.. the reason I applied is because i really didn’t know what to do,, I do a lot of work on cars and the hair was In The way,, I think there is a disconnect between regal gentlemen an Dan the hairdresser,, I thought they were the same so when I messaged I assumed they worked together, I went in with a complete open mind and explained on the form I sent I had no idea what I wanted to do! I have no idea if this got to Dan.. I haven’t seen the old video but I have no complaints about the service and after what was the only hair consultation I have ever had was absolutely made up with the cut!! ( by the way the wife hoped it would be shorter but loved it!!!) Had I known dan works in Liverpool I would have booked there and intend on doing for my next cut,,
I think it looks short enough and you still had styling options which is a plus. In my opinion as a woman who cuts her own hair and my son's occasionally (Sometimes cutting too much hair off) 😒 It's nice to see the stylist here didn't go scissor happy and I agree with him that not knowing what the end product will be is very scary .👍🏻Best of luck to what hairstyle you do next in the future.
If I’m honest, your original haircut suited you miles better. The difference is night and day. You have lovely flowing hair and it really sits well. All that was necessary, in my opinion, was a minor tidy up if anything plus a beard trim. I feel the puffy beard was the main issue. A puffy beard plus the long hair was a bit too much to process. A nice beard trim, say a stubble or just above plus your previous hairstyle would have you looking a million bucks. I don’t feel the new one compliments you or your facial structure at all.
I think you look really great with your new haircut! The most important thing is that you're happy with it :) and if you are, don't let people convince you it's not good just because they have their own taste.
I’m only at 8:51... I am absolutely so impressed with how this barber is considering his client. Genuine and honest consultation - his heart is so into it! Love it! 😬👍❤️🇨🇦
This man reminds me of Oliver Reed with his luxurious hair. Its refreshing to see the level of care Guy gives his clients. Great cut that maintains length and style at the same time.
When a guy comes to you for a haircut I don't know how they could go to anyone else in the future. Dan, you're that GOOD! His haircut and beard look great.
I didn't see the first video. As a woman, when I look at the before and after, I love the haircut because he still has lots of hair but it's not messy looking and "uncut". The beard looks great too. Not too long and a mustache that let's you see his nice mouth. I hope the customer likes it, because I think he looks great.
Idk if I’m the only one , but I truly enjoy the calming feeling you get when someone is giving you a haircut/taking care of you. Even more so when you have a good relationship with your barber.
The shorter and tidier beard plus this awesome haircut makes this man look younger and his face slimmer. Great result as always! And I agree - he should stick with longer hair. It suits him.
I agree completely, people who are saying he looked better before are tripping 👀😂. And besides that, now he has it well proportionally cut, so it is going get longer and closer to hos original length, but now it's gonna look even better, because it has been proportioned. Amd the beard 💯 needed work, I'd go even shorter honestly, but definitely much nicer ☺️
Some barbers will give you a 3 on top and a 1 at sides, and wave you on your way. The short cuts are usually my least favourite vids on this channel. But when dan was washing his head AFTER cutting to go back and catch the long hairs, it was genuinely educational Another from the absolute GOAT.
I don’t know maybe somethings wrong with me. I didn’t see anything wrong with the video. But I loved his haircut. You were absolutely right he would not have looked good with short hair and it’s not so long that it looks messy beautiful job Dan!
WOW! I loved that he attended to your beard first, what a good job that was! You had thick lovely hair, but when the Real Gentlemen cuts hair, it's always divine, and in your case it is no different- he took your hair and made it look gorgeous! Lots of shiny thick but well cut hair falling ever so lovely/handsome! I bet your family is quite pleased, you look a star! So glad you came to get your haircut here, he does the best work!
Fabulous look for him. I have such respect for how you work with clients to understand what they would like and then mesh it with your honesty, knowledge and expertise. When done you have given them what works for and them and looks fabulous for their hair type, facial structure, etc. His final spin in the chair really showcased a great cut and beard trim on a handsome guy!
Ive been doing mens hair for over 33 years in North London. Ive now got guys coming in having watched this channel asking for consultations like you give. This is all I've wanted over the years, real barber/mens hair consultations and the chance to skin fade. Ive actually applied on your website to have a cut and video with you as would be nice to have a chin wag about the industry and not a member of staff cut my hair!
lovely cut! suits him great! love how you talk with him for 10 minutes to really know what he wants exactly. its always a hard one when theyh come in saying 'it's all your's, do what you want with it' because i see things different them you do, and then they blame you for a bad cut they didn't want
Hate to be negative, really enjoy these, but Beardbrand got into making long compilations and reuploading a lot and it's not...not irritating. I understand why some might not have liked the consultation but, as someone who's grown my hair to no particular end and now wants telling what to do, I found it really useful. Initially, I found it quite disconcerting, bit it needed saying and I'm glad you put it out.
Really appreciate your feedback, Alec! No worries at all. Thank you! We decided to remove that part on this occasion just for fairness, and you probably will never see another re-upload from us! But for this one we just wanted to get it out. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Always appreciate it!
@@IWTBF I don't really know because I don't pay much attention to the comments. I can make an educated guess but, while I'm not the boss of you and don't like to gatekeep, I don't think Dan and colleagues really want to dwell on it. Apologies Regal Gents, I commented before thinking about what might have happened.
@@IWTBFDan was REALLY rude to a client during the consultation session. It was very unpleasant to see and a lot of people disapproved of his behavior. The outcome was obviously unexpected and they edited the video, removed all the comments and uploaded it again.
I thought the long hair suited him, but he clearly wanted it shorter--but could not articulate how short or what style. You did a great job of giving him a tidier look but keeping some length. I think the cut suits him well.
In the original, it was a classic case of someone wanting a makeover without coming to the appointment with a single idea or image of what they might like. Dan explained that this was incredibly difficult for him, even as a professional. Some might have interpreted this as him telling off the client when in actuality he was quite restrained and only stating the obvious.
@@NicksGarageUk Not sure why people keep mentioning the cut was free. That shouldn't matter one way or the other. It's also fair if you want to come in for a consultation. If Dan didn't feel comfortable with the lack of direction he could have declined the cut. He didn't. So I assume it's all good. The result was excellent. Congrats on a great cut.
I can imagine the difficulty on both sides as what look to create. It's great to see a beard trim with the cut, because that ties in the whole look. It was a great cut. I can't see him with short hair. If he had brought pictures that he thought he liked it would help.
The key to having a happy customer is to be able to understand and or clarify their vision, which can also clarify what the customer wants. "Tidy," "long," "short," "classy," etc. are all words that are individual interpretations, making it SO important to get subjective terminology. ❤
From one barber to another when my clients are this vague i always say what percentage of the hair/beard do you want gone,,,,or left and I'll hold the hair and they'll say only a 3rd or whatever so that kinda helps &i always start a fraction longer and give room for leeway. I get alot of Indian guys in and they always say MEDIUM...thats it hehe ....so the percentage gauge always helps me
Gonna have to agree with Dan, dude should stick with long hair. Definitely seems like it’s what HE wants and not what anyone else wants for him. He should be happy with what he gets and not conform to what others want for him. It’s his hair. Grow it out!
Fr, and long hair generally looks better than short hair; depends on the person tho. We have no right to be obligated to cut our hair short because someone told us to.
I know I'm months behind, but you look great! This cut does wonders for you, so handsome! I'm really glad you're planning on booking another appointment with Dan in the future.
I'm just starting to watch this video. But wanted to say after the few years of watching, this is the first beard I've seen being done to any extent. To be honest many times I wish beards were shorter.
I think that most men suit longer hair as long as it's well cared for. I thought the client looked super cute with his new cut and trimmed beard. I found the barber hard to take my eyes off... he's not only super handsome, but friendly, caring and very talented!!! I'm still trying to figure out the scissor over comb technique... do you take the same amount off each time? Would love a video showing this and explaining it for those of us who cut hair for friends and family, but aren't even close to being a professional. Anyways... this is the second vid of yours I've watched and I really loved it.
I see both sides of it… I’ve always thought that a barber or hairstylist would love the freedom to do whatever they want, so I imagine the client thought he was being easy going… however I see Dans side as well, ultimately he wants the client to be happy so it’s probably better if they do some research and come to him with a specific idea in mind.
Thought the shape created by the cut was excellent. The before/after shot substantiates this point. Your care in determining what the client and wife wanted given the scars on the back of his head is a complement to your precision of cutting the hair sectionally. The use of the razor or sharp scissors to texture isn’t a tool I use because it creates in my opinion frizz. In terms of the clients hair type, you could get away with the technique. Anyway, excellent cut and style!
Looks great! (I was loving the back of his hair before it was cut...beautiful natural wave/texture ). But what I really want to know is what was his wife's reaction?
Was just looking through the comments to see if anyone else thought this. “As long as you’re happy, man?” And he looks down and just mutters “Sorted.” 🫤
I did something similar before ... I had really nice long blonde hair but I got fed up of it went to the salon one day and said cut it to my shoulders they tried to convince me not to do it but I was fed up of that hair lol
Nick, I agree with Dan, you have fantastic hair and in my opinion you shouldn't wear it too short. You were right to have confidence in Dan's judgement. Taking into consideration how extremely difficult it must be for a barber to know what to advise, when the customer himself doesn't know what he wants. The result of your new hair/beard cut, makes you look younger also. Dan, I am fascinated by your expertise in cutting hair - you are very talented. I have been binge watching your channel for 3 days to date. You have a charismatic personality, which must be appreciated by your clients. I intend to keep watching future episodes. Maureen from Paris, France.
8:21 It is funny how when this happens the client with long good hair wants it cut off. then the client that wants more hair well you gotta wait 3/4 months m8

8:21 It is funny how when this happens the client with long good hair wants it cut off. then the client that wants more hair well you gotta wait 3/4 months m8
He looks very handsome!! ❤
I briefly dated a guy with a beard once. It was like kissing a hedge. Never again. Lol
scissors sound like pac man... chomp chomp chomp lol
I thought today was the Talking hairloss episode, not re-upload minus the consultation mate! XD
Might be a mistake!
Talking hair loss is next week! Bi-weekly!
I wouldn't of uploaded someone who just wanted to be on camera again Dan@@RegalGentleman
I think his hair style before the cut flattered his face much more. And looked better after the beard was trimmed but before the hair cut.
At one point i thought you was gonna give him a mullet lol, tidy job nice one.....
Looks fabulous on him!
Love the classic cut and beard trim.
I tried to access the first video but it wouldn’t load ? What did I miss?
What a transformation! It looks ace!
I liked the long hair, he still looks good with the hair cut. Trimming the beard was what was really needed.
Up, keep that hair length. Looks fantastic.
Wow I love how this looks - great job, once again!!!
His face looked immediately thinner. I think it was a great cut.
he looks great with longer hair
His wife won't recognize him. Much better and neater than when he walked in the salon. Another great haircut, Dan.
Love your videos...
Loved the cut and clean up....
I would have put a little product in his hair at the end...for separation and an easy look...
Should've gave him a 5:00 shadow, with a shorter cut/fade.
Beautiful well done 😊
Happy Thanksgiving.
That looks great!
Perfect took it down a little but still left it long enough to keep him and the wife happy.I think the wives just want tidiness .
Really nice. He looks so good.
Definitely he has great texture.
