Hows your tiles holding up with densshield? Is that silicone you put around the shower valve? I see online people say nothing sticks to the silicone. I am trying to do the same thing with this dense shield. I put silicone were the denseshield meet. And also on the screws. I’m debating whether I should take it off now.
Hi Jason, It's Jerry. I watched this Tile Backer Board Installation video . I will do it exactly same yours. I have couple of questions. Could you pleases tell me what kind the screws, mash tape and mud using for Densshield board ? thanks!
Okay I got a question. I have old less 1/13" uneven oak floors. I wanna lay tile down dont want to tear up the floor, do you think I could lay down water proof dmx, and tile over it?
thinking about using denshied on my next custom shower? any issues with it so far? did you caulk all your screw holes? I read you arent supposed to let the screws go through the acrylic surface to keep the water proof seal.
SHARKBITES???? REALLY? TYPICAL HANDY ANDY . CAST IRON? LOL. NO IT IS COPPER. YOU ARE SEALING THE THE TEMP. VALVE COVER. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS HACK !!!!! JUST ABOUT 90 % OF THIS VIDEO IS VERY VERY WRONG. I HAVE BEEN DOING BATHROOMS FOR 20 YRS...
he looked to be counter sinking the screws which is a no no with denshield. He put his sticky mesh tape over thinset unnecessarily...very strange...denshield doesnt expand so you dont need expansion gaps. I would avoid shark bites.
I have installed hundreds of shark bites and never had any issues with them. No call backs and no leaks on checks. What is the 90% that is wrong with this video? Maybe with your 20 years, you can educate these viewers instead of being a baseless criticizer.
@@jasonspicer5738 The Sharkbites, countersinking screws, backboard on surface of pan instead of flange, vapour barrier behind denshield. I couildnt watch anymore!

Looks great
You don't need a vapor barrier when you are using a water proofing backerboard. That is your vapor barrier. This looked like a home owner dyi job.

Are these 24 O.C. studs? Or has to be 16 O.C.?
What thin set did you use?
Why did you counter sink your fasteners? That voids the warranty... it breaks the plane of water resistance.
Does densshield waterproof? I read the information of the product, it’s water resistant
yes...it has a built in membrane
:) Thanks.

@@aplliedweaponology also didn't appear to put screws every 6" as per instructions. Sharkbites I'll disagree with you, but otherwise on point.
