Just purchased the 2021 QX50 Luxe after having the same car (BMW128i-manual) for 15 years. Thus just learning about the tech features. Three comments - 1. Interior cabin is very quiet - cannot hear outside noise - you did not mention that. 2. Just drove 95 miles and quite surprised at 35.4 mpg average. 3. You and every other tester complains about the two screen display - which I love. My son has a Ford Raptor with a very large 1 screen display. The two screen display (for me) is better. The upper screen is for Android Auto (wireless adaptor) stuff and lower screen is for the rest - like climate control, siriusxm station that is playing. I just do not see the big deal to critize the screen layouts - as said I find very functional. I love the car.
Basically a nice, well equipped SUV. Appears to need some design and product development work to bring it up to date and make it competitive. Think this would be a "hard sell" in dealer inventory. Nice, pretty much charming car, though. You pointed out the high and low points well..usual very good review! Unlikely that we will see many of these on the road!
Lexus has a cvt in the NX hybrid, whether its better than the one in the QX50? by saying Infinitis cvt is bad for a luxury model while Lexus isn't. dosen't make since
Have been driving cvts since 2009, not a problem but it is a little different although they tune the CVT to feel like a regular transmission. You can still tell it’s a CVT though.

Totally agree with you. Thanks for tuning in as always.
This dual screen showed with this model refresh in 2019.
Agree the CVT transmission is a NON starter for me.

Once you have a vehicle with a CVT, you are scorned for life, and will never have another! It feels like your driving a car with a rubber band!

You wil probably have to get used to it... EVEYONE is using them in EVERYTHING now...I dont like but but hey, what can you do?
