I first read this book without knowing much about the scp universe, and it blew my mind at the time. It was what led me to reading the wiki, and subsequently falling in love with the scp universe. Thank you for narrating it!
This story is legitimately my favorite SCP story. I've read the entirety of the version posted on the wiki several times. Didn't know there was a book version, though I imagine it's pretty much the same. It's a very good story and I'm very excited to see your take on the whole thing
There's a miniseries done by Andrea Joshua Asnicar here on youtube that's a pretty great watch! I think the casting really nailed Marion. Excited to hear you go through this, Jeff!
I feel like I'm going insane because as I was hearing Jeff read the story, a dreadful deja vu was building up in my mind. I swear I heard or read the story before, but I don't know when or where, or if it even happened at all. Peak anti memetic experience here
Even with the context of something originally made for a forum and later self published, it's kind of surprising to me that there is a book about SCP stuff. It seems like the sort of thing that INSPIRES a lot of original fiction, but doesn't see much actually written within its universe, so to speak. Very interesting.
This was so cool! I can't wait for the next episodes :D And I'm glad I suspected Clay from the start - what kind of PA stays in the room with an O5 and listens in on their discussions?
Antimemetics division is the kinda bit that will pull you into the whole SCP universe/gimmick BECAUSE of how unique and cool it is... unless that's just me lol but genuinely, such a cool concept
I had seen the Antimemetics Division mentioned here and there on the wiki over the years, but had never been interested enough to go hunt down deeper lore on it. Then I got recommended Andrea Asnicar's TH-cam series where he directed a live-action adaptation of the story and ate it up. Not a huge reader these days, sadly, so I didn't go diving into the wiki to learn more. Awesome to be able to experience the original story in some way! Thanks Jeff and Vee!
DELIGHTED that we're jumping right in with a milf. god bless. also -- kudos for keeping your character voices consistent, that can get tricky when you have narration and prose breaking dialogue rather than a script format
I've been an on and off writer on the wiki over last couple years, but antimemetics was easily the singular most influential and inspiring piece of early SCP fiction that made me want to commit go actually get into the SCP multiverse as much and as quickly as I soon did. Its still easily at top of my favorite SCP stuff, but QNTM's short fiction if anything is even better somehow outside SCP material, like seriously buy this guys' recent short story compendium. Yall won't regret it...
I really enjoyed your reading of whatever story it was about colors that kill you. This video was an enjoyable listen as well! I liked the sporadic use of sound effects. Not too many as to be distracting, just enough to emphasize and add to the immersion.
This is one of those things I'd massively appreciate your musings on like you mentioned in the previous video. I read this on the SCP site a couple years ago and I haven't seen much thematic discussion about it, like what people think about the themes and concepts at play (it doesn't need to be anything that deep though, it's just nice to hear what other people think of media too). It's one of those books that just keeps staying on my mind to this day, turning it over in my head every so often.
I started getting into SCPs thanks to you and this antimemetics concept is amazing I'm so in this bookclub, even if it's completely possible I can't hold myself and get ahead I wil stay for the voice acting because it was a lot of fun
Man this was like a mnestic for me, while watching this I was like "wait...I remember this! I totally read this!" hahahaha. Looking forward to part 2! While I read this part of the story I don't think I read much further than this so I am excited to hear it through you! :D
Just came to realisten after the most recent chapters. Listning back to 11:40 literally made me laugh like a crazy person. This is a really well crafted story
Not watching this until the full thing is out but I’m liking and commenting to feed the almighty algorithm because I really enjoy this channel and want it to succeed.
Sam Hughes (qntm) is a superb sci-fi writer. He's mainly known for How To Destroy The Earth, hosted on his website. Went viral back in the day. Great read. The guy comes up with some absolutely fascinating ideas. His weakness is generally dialog, but honestly he's gotten so much better on that over the years, and I read sci-fi for the ideas anyway so I've always loved his stuff.
This is crazy I have been wanting to recommend this one to y’all after scp 055. I thought I did tbh but I can’t find my comments anywhere doing it like i thought I did so that’s fitting
I would love a book club!! You can live stream it and we can have a discussion in real time Or have an aftershow You can do an edited aftershow, picking comments and talking about it. Or do a live aftershow where we discuss the chapter/ video
Hey Jeff, i love your videos so much, I was wondering what Dualtrax song you used for the outro on some of your Jeffiot channel videos? I can't find it :(
I've been noticing the SCP Wiki has been producing a lot more physical media all of a sudden, or at least I've been noticing it all of a sudden. :O And that *rules*.
8:37 I mean... More than that. The 05 council are all also semi-immortal beings that would all qualify as SCPs themselves... if everything about them weren't redacted. lol It's like if your bosses bosses boss hung out with Gods and could literally annihilate civilization by simply casting a vote (it's happened before, if you're new around here please check out SCP-5000. It will branch off into basically all of my favorite scips, including SCP-055, and is a great place to get started on the universe.)
Does this continue on with five five five five five? I liked that story even more it’s so good and it’s a direct continuation of this story. I hope it’s included!!
So, I cant be the only one who read the title as "There is no AntiSemitics division" right? I was curious what the SCP foundation had to do with antisemites, lol.
Every time I try to watch this video, it's just the end card.
It's kind of tempting to mark the whole video as a segment for SponsorBlock to do just that.
No I'm pretty sure your browser just needs updating. I'm definitely watching the video 😂
@@benny_lemon5123 ik this is late but you missed the joke
Im just excited to start my first day working antimemetics
Hey J and V, your playlist goes episode 2, episode 1, episode 3, just checking that no anti-memes are messing with play list orders!
This is RAD and I'm so stoked for more. Been looking for a good fiction book for a while now so gonna do the book club thing and buy it. 😊
I love the whole Antimemetics Division saga it’s such a fun concept to play with
Tfw you gotta cover your whole shift alone / again / because the dept pet ate your co-workers memories

I think the publication of such a book was always just a matter of time
There's been a manga series for quite some time.
This was so cool! I can't wait for the next episodes :D And I'm glad I suspected Clay from the start - what kind of PA stays in the room with an O5 and listens in on their discussions?
I haven't dug too deep into the wiki yet but the memetics and anti-memetics have been some of my favorites. Very happy you guys are covering these
Antimemetics division is the kinda bit that will pull you into the whole SCP universe/gimmick BECAUSE of how unique and cool it is... unless that's just me lol but genuinely, such a cool concept

LETS GOOOOOOO I've never seen anyone cover this story, so to see you cover it is outstanding
I've watched the TH-cam miniseries about this saga and I've been eager to pick up the book! Way to go Jeff!
DELIGHTED that we're jumping right in with a milf. god bless.

I LOOOVE SCP-55 and am excited to read along with you! I didn't even know this book existed[or perhaps i did.... and simply forgot]
I started getting into SCPs thanks to you and this antimemetics concept is amazing I'm so in this bookclub, even if it's completely possible I can't hold myself and get ahead I wil stay for the voice acting because it was a lot of fun
You NEED to cover all SCPs made by dado
Man this was like a mnestic for me, while watching this I was like "wait...I remember this! I totally read this!" hahahaha.
Looking forward to part 2! While I read this part of the story I don't think I read much further than this so I am excited to hear it through you! :D
I'm so pumped for this series. I wanted to get this book but I'm broke, and I haven't managed to get into the SCP site but I love your videos on them
Hearing we get a chapter of story time every other week is amazing, please keep up the awesome work J and V!
Even with this being Jeff's first day, he did a fantastic read of the first chapter!
I like
Just came to realisten after the most recent chapters. Listning back to 11:40 literally made me laugh like a crazy person. This is a really well crafted story

YESSS LET'S GO!!!! I have not been this pumped since Allison Pregler did the Tyra Banks book!!!!!!!!
This is my single favourite SCP story ever, I'll eagerly wait your next videos on it!
Huge fan of this story I hope this video finds someone who hasn't experienced it yet and goes out and buys it

I remember the first time I read this on the wiki I loved it! Glad see that they made a book!
An incredible narration of an incredible book. Looking forward to other chapters!
This is crazy I have been wanting to recommend this one to y’all after scp 055. I thought I did tbh but I can’t find my comments anywhere doing it like i thought I did so that’s fitting

I would love a book club!!
You can live stream it and we can have a discussion in real time
Or have an aftershow
You can do an edited aftershow, picking comments and talking about it.
Or do a live aftershow where we discuss the chapter/ video
Hey Jeff, i love your videos so much, I was wondering what Dualtrax song you used for the outro on some of your Jeffiot channel videos? I can't find it :(

Did not know there was a book! There is no anti memtics division is a classic!
So I definitely had heard all of that text before, hope people haven't been stealing this guys paid literature. Hope I can pick it up soon!
Hey, I watched a series of short films based on this book some time ago! It's great!

I misread the title as "there is no Arithmetics division" and was very confused until like 10 minutes in
QNTM has come a long way for sure
youtube says i've already watched this video but i have no memory of it...

Hey, _this_ word is actually pronounced like _that_ !
So, I cant be the only one who read the title as "There is no AntiSemitics division" right? I was curious what the SCP foundation had to do with antisemites, lol.
Thank you younger, Swedish Dennis Rader. As usual, another fantastic video.
Hey did you know scp is pronounced "i see u pee"?
