Fun Fact: People actually DO go out of their way to help and care for each other in disasters (and I would argue walking into this SCP counts as a disaster). Like, by default. It’s a phenomenon called *disaster compassion* and it’s super common and observable in any disaster! See: the way people come together and help each other for natural disasters like hurricanes. The trope of “every man for himself turning on each other violent chaos” is not what people do by default. But they can be pushed to do it - usually because there’s some vocal power claiming and/or threatening violence of some sort. This is a phenomenon called *elite panic* in which powerful/rich/vocal media people stir up threats of things like “looting and violence” that’s “definitely happening”, and encourages people in the disaster to stop focusing on helping others and start policing and threatening and attacking others instead. See: politicians and news media doing exactly this during natural disasters like hurricanes. But people really are kinder and more compassionate than you think, by default. Most people have to be pushed and threatened into turning on each other in that apocalyptic horror way.
It makes sense. We are such social animals that we instinctively pack-bond with stuff that isnt even the same species as us. We surivive far better in groups.
After getting to that part I knew i had to do something like that for it LMAO. For anyone interested about what is being said, its a couple of sections from the "Customer support/Returns" page on the Finnish IKEA website. // V
One of the BEST SCPs out there!! I love hearing how you read these, it makes the story feel new again. This channel has gotten me back into reading them and I thank u for that
So excited to see this one! Also finding out through this episode that TH-cam changed my user and added numbers to the end, I literally never would’ve noticed otherwise lmao
discovering the SCP world thru this channel it's an adventure I was not expecting this year but that I am enyoing in ways I couldn't imagine, this one was so emotional and somehow made the ikea backrooms relatable? I just can't stop recomending this videos
I knew of this one but never actually heard the entry, it’s so surprisingly well written, giving just enough lore and details to make speculating fun, but not so many it becomes boring and has the magic ruined. I particularly liked the hints that other scp organizations in other universes were doing the same thing, and re-listening to it it seems like another group may have been the cause of the increased staff attacks based on the trading timelines and when activity increases. But the tower has so much intrigue and I can’t help but imagining a cult like community forming around this idea of building their way out.
Oh hey, it's the first and for a long time, only SCP I knew. It's really one of those classics that transcends the bounds of the SCP Wiki. And yet, I had pretty much forgotten the Diary part and was thinking for some reason it w as a lot shorter with just the descriptions. Thanks for allowing me to experience it again!
Always here for a jvscp but I also like when you cover the lesser known/ less covered scps and appreciate your affinity for mundane/safe scp articles xx
As someone new to the wiki I appreciate that ya'll are down to cover some classics as well! Recommending SCP-2673. I _especially_ recommend starting with the Containment Maintenance Log before you read the actual file. It does lead to a bigger "shared universe" but it works perfectly well as a standalone.
The little sidetrack thinking about paralel worlds reminded me of the many SCP entries that play with the multiverse idea. I recommend one of my favorites in that department: SCP-2935. Its a great read that realy stuck with me after reading it early after getting into SCP.
For me, I've always liked SCPs but never really dived into it much. So I've never heatd this one before and I'm sure others haven't also. I'd say feel free to cover anyone of the SCPs you like and I'll speak for everyone here, but we're here for your voice man! Whatever you soeak about I listen!
Thanks Jeff! Always loved this one for how it slides effortlessly from a simple premise of "Ikea stores are so confusing, am I right?" into a deep and heartfelt deconstruction of zombie apocalypse / survival fiction. The fact that it tempers the optimism in showing people working together compassionately to survive with the pathos of knowing that the journal author actually escaped and then immediately died? Brilliant. A lot of SCPs I think focus overly on the mystery or the dread, so it's a refreshing change to see one so melancholic.
Love your content! Also I would love to see the End on death hub explored on your channel just as antimemetics division thought it will most certainly require a lot of effort. But that stuff is really good.
I was more familiar with the Grady Hendrix novel but im glad to finally become acquainted with the SCP take on IKEA as well! Its style definitely suits my tastes waaaay more than horrorstör, which was too campy and satirical for me, and really didn't offer much except a couple of laughs. This one really makes me wonder what it WOULD be like being trapped. Thanks for the read!!
I know this one already, and I'm pretty sure that there was more about it. I seem to remember something about a 'town' that was like a dictatorship in there, and about a group of 3 travelling together to find an exit.
You just missed spooky month but I would recommend reading the Anthology 2024 entries which includes 31 entries based around fears, some of them might be a bit heavy for the channel but they are certainly worth the read.
I always felt like this one and SCP-1733 were related somehow. People that should be missing but somehow aren't who may or may not be from parallel realities.
thisis gonna be the one i cant listen to; ive actually had a panic attack in a ikea once because i thought i was stuck in a loop. this is gonna fuck me up too much lolol
does this scp hit different if you've ever actually set foot in an ikea? we don't have 'em around here so my mental image is more "infinite clothing section at wal-mart"
the main floor of an ikea, is kinda weird and there is no windows and the whole start of the floor is fake room layouts that are pretty convincing. they have plenty of maps and arrows on the floor because i think they know its kinda a little unsettling.
This one reminded me of the Maze Runner a bit, with the maze and scary things attacking at night and whatnot. A fun read, but I wouldn't say it was my favourite.. I think it had a bit too many tropes I'd seen in other stories before (though granted, this may have been written before those other stories, so nothing against the story or the writer, it just diminished my experience a bit). Still a great video as always though ❤
In his journal entries the guy who managed to escape says his phone has a "torch." So unless a random British tourist got lost inside, I'd say it probably isn't in America.
@ConnorSimmons1997 Yeah, used to watch a lot of British TV shows so my brain kinda glossed over that lol. Maybe he's a college student looking for some furniture lol.
I haven't watched the video yet but I want you to know I'll watch your videos even if they're about super popular SCP's I already know about

Safety in numbers :)
It truly depends
i like the detail of having finnish speech playing in the background when talking about only hearing nonsense on the phone lol
After getting to that part I knew i had to do something like that for it LMAO. For anyone interested about what is being said, its a couple of sections from the "Customer support/Returns" page on the Finnish IKEA website.

SCPs like this are great for growing the channel. Pop one up every now and then!
Classic. The "CCTV" camera was a great touch!
Oh man TWO ooky spooky videos from Jeff, you'd like to see it
I'm stoked, infinite IKEA is one of my absolute favorites. I was wondering if you'd do this one.
Thanks you guys!

Weekly ask for SCP-610 "The Flesh That Hates"! Thanks for all the awesome content!

I really love your work, definitely the best SCP channel on youtube!
Omg here I am trying to go to sleep at 4 am insomnia and my main man comes in clutch with the ikea scp!
Love your content!
Also I would love to see the End on death hub explored on your channel just as antimemetics division thought it will most certainly require a lot of effort. But that stuff is really good.
Woot! I've been waiting for you to do the Ikea scp! It's one of my favs!
Thank you for feeling cheeky and reading this one!
I like the Key ones, and also that one Water Nymph is pretty cute.
The best part of coming home from a long day of work 🙂

The setting for Horrorstör is extraordinarily close to where I grew up.
Commenting for the algorithm
Thanks for another great video!~ I enjoy your narration :)

Weekly ask for 1730 and 2935, some of my favourites, also, engament bump!
SCP-2124 is short and has an interesting twist
thisis gonna be the one i cant listen to; ive actually had a panic attack in a ikea once because i thought i was stuck in a loop. this is gonna fuck me up too much lolol

Oh cool !!! I love 3008, learnt from it bc of the roblox game based on it :D
great video as always! love your content guys! hope more people discover it
Thank you so much
Goated scp
so good :D
nice
Hear me out. 3008 is in Texas. Because everything is bigger in Texas.
I've heard good things about The Flesh That Hates, it'd be cool if you checked that out :)
He got pretty lucky. Maybe you should read the one with the statue that follows people.
