Winter can be brutal for skin, so I teamed up with CeraVe to give you some of my personal and professional tips for combatting this winter.
Cold winter air, means less humidity. Heated indoor air means less humidity indoors, also. Less humidity means dry (or drier) skin.
These are my professional tips for combatting winter air:
    1. Morning cleanse may be optional. Night cleanse is still important.
    2. Apply CeraVe Healing Ointment AM & PM as the last step of your routine.
    3. Shower in cooler water.
    4. Exfoliate more… or less.
    5. Layer light hydration serums under Healing Ointment.
    6. Apply CeraVe Healing Ointment to areas affected by dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis.
    7. Apply CeraVe Healing Ointment to areas affected by extreme dryness, cracking, peeling, redness and irritation.
    8. Use a humidifier.
    9. Continue to wear SPF!
    F O L L O W M E!
I love to connect on my other socials :)

Y’all the healing ointment is the truth. At the beginning of Winter I had a rash start from my forehead down to my chest. My skin hurt using any product. Using CeraVe ointment really relieved my skin and keep it moisturized. I still use a little amount at the very end of my skincare routine. Love all the way for Minnesota ❄️

Yeah I literally just bought some Vaseline to use as an occlusive for winter (even though winter is barely winter here in the Bay Area, but I'm from Michigan and have normal to dry skin so combating winter dryness is a habit). It definitely took me back to being a kid and my mom slathering my face in Vaseline before letting me play out in the snow 😂 but it works!

Yeah I agree it's too sketchy. If you're wanting the healing ointment specifically it's rly just fancy vaseline. I used it for a year before switching to vaseline and tbh I like it better bc the ointment wasn't occlusive enough for my desert climate. But for most people it works just fine, my barrier was just severely compromised lol

@@AB-ez1eh I agree! I just switched from cerave to aquaphor and I’ve already seen a bigger difference in my skin after using aquaphor for 1 day then I did when I used cerave for 4 months - aquaphor is much more occlusive

I have very very oily skin which is only very oily in the winter time. In the winter time, I only put SPF 30 on in the morning whereas in the summer I apply SPF every 2-3 hours or before I go outside anywhere. I use cleanser, toner, acid, hydrating serum, moisturiser and oils as my part of my daily routine however, in the winter, when I wake up in the morning, I have to put regular vaseline ON TOP of my oils to stop my face from becoming dry. But the vaseline has very little effect and I end up putting more vaseline all over my face when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet.
I decided to buy a humidifier the other day as I read online it can stop your skin from becoming as dry, so I am glad you have stated that it could help my skin. You said to increase exfoliation in the winter but I decrease the amount of times I exfoliate because my skin becomes much drier in the winter as opposed to the summer.
Great video as always and very informative!!!!

Thanks for this❤ I have little experience with the winter weather because I primarily live in the tropics. In Ghana, my skin is normal, even during Harmattan. Recently visited the USA, and this winter weather caught me off-guard. I'm breaking out and having dry flaky patches on the backs of my hands and around my lips. My face hurts when I go outside for 2 minutes. And yes, I forgot to pack my sunscreen when visiting the US, because I figured, "It's winter. The African sun never fazed me, so the American sun is a piece of cake." 😂 Boy, was I wrong.
I'll use your tips🙏 What you said about not showering with hot water made sense. But I'll miss hot baths. They were the highlight of my day, especially on freezing nights 😭

Please please please do a video on caring for the skin of our lady parts. I have friends who have started their own businesses with skin care products that include soaps, scrubs, washes, bath bombs, and lady part treatments. I like to be able to shop using the knowledge I have of what is and isn’t safe for my skin. I don’t want to buy for example sugar scrubs/serums/balms for my vaginal area if it will irritate my skin or throw off my ph balance. I keep things very simple in that area. But tips on keeping the skin ingrown free, exfoliated and moisturized would be so appreciated 🖤

Do you layer the healing ointment under or over the SPF?

    • @carterwhite9578
      @carterwhite9578 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

SPF is always last and you can put on the healing ointment right before! I personally don't love wearing the healing ointment during the day bc I feel like the mineral oil breaks down my SPF faster. (but if I'm spending time outside in sub zero temperatures I will wear both)

hey ! new to your channel and I am a new esthetician as well. Love your content but I did have an esty question.
I noticed your skin care routine and how you use a mix of brands. can you go in to depth a little bit about mixing different skin care brands together. I was taught in school to stick with the same brands due to the consistent ph levels they provide.

Luv this!!! Can you recommend a non fragranced serum/hydrator for the body as my skin is dehydrated and no matter how much i moisturize as soon as I finish showering my skin still appears dull.

I’m usually ashy so lately I’ve been using more hydrating serums, and I just brought out my humidifier to use. I use the healing ointment a lot at night but didn’t even think to use it during the day - I’m assuming I’d put it on after my sunscreen?

I use the healing ointment every night but was worried that it would decrease the effectiveness of my SPF if worn during the day. Are you saying I can wear the ointment in the day time on top of my SPF? Also currently taking Accutane
