Lyrics
I have a picture pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me and we're laughing, we're loving it all
Look at our life now, we're tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears and we cry until dawn
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start

Absolutely we did ☝️🎶🎼🎵
I love this song I’m was born 1982
Thank goodness we were witnesses to this awesome era 🫶🏿
Indeed, now just made, pushed & over produced Satanic BS throughout all the music industry with auto tune!

The 80s were just magical, phenomenal and unforgettable. 💯💯💯
I’d do anything to go back 😢

Certainly produced MANY phenomenally creative sounds. The last decade to do so (IMO).
Yes indeed
We didn't know it, we were too busy living it, enjoying it. We were so lucky weren't we...
Doesn't this song make you feel so good inside and sad at the same time because you can't go back to the 80s?
Yes 🥰 😢 ma'am
it does, indeed.
Yep. Id like to go back😭💔👣🙏
Yeah 😢 The best time of my life ❤. Would love to go back.

YES! God, those were the days.
I had an office tape recorder playing this, 4 "c" sized batteries, oh man those were the times.😊
Was on a red-eye from SFO to Orlando FL to go to Navy boot camp on December 18, 1983, had a back row of seats all to myself. Fell asleep during flight with headphones on my ears, connected to plane's audio system. Hold Me Now along with a few other songs were in a continuous playing loop over a few hours I was asleep and this song is thankfully Ingrained in my head for life. Beautiful song along with Spandau Ballet's "True", and Simply Red's "Holding Back the Years". Good to see more of you out there appreciate the music.
Me and my brother owned a gym back in the 80’s this song was always on. MTV. He died last month. I played this song while taking his ashes out to sea 🌊. Rip bro 😎. See u down the road.

“Searching for some perfect world, we know we'll never find.” still holds true over 40 years later.
Agreed! >"
There is an atmosphere about this song that even as a kid got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. This is a really classic track. It has stood the test of time.
I didn't have any hairs on the back of my neck in those days. That shows the magic of this song.
I always liked this song!
one of the best parts of being a kid in the 80s was growing up to appreciate all the phenomenal music we were exposed to. as a 10 year old I didn't really understand music, but as an adult musician I look back to those years and realize I was around for some of the best music ever written
96 baby over here and this song is still a banger.
Anytime you hear a "call back" (repeat or sing next line) on the chorus it gets ppls attention. Especially a falsetto like Frankie Valli then most everyone gets goosebumps or chills.
Still listen to Hold Me Now even in 2024

The 80 were a blast all kinds of music 💪
I was 12 when this song was released in North America. I’m still enjoying it in 2024. A more happy, undeveloped time. The 80s was a fun time.
Mee tooo! I was a super super Thompson Twins fan
Nice one! ☺️Their music was an anthem for the 80s. Like a lot of bands that made music then. It really defied a decade, in a happy way. To me the 80s felt like it was summer all the time😌☀️☀️
I agree so much, song are getting boring lately
Back in those days. Music was still meant for freedom! Look at the 60s, 70s. The 80s was a natural progression from something beautiful, into something more beautiful! There was so many interesting styles in the 80s. From punk to new wave to reggae and so on.✌️
My uncle died last month. Every time he picked me up from soccer games, he’d blast good 80’s music. This was his favorite, and listening to it now just brings sorrow. I still can’t believe he’s gone
By celebrating his influence on you by playing songs he liked, you may find joy in that grief. Joy for his life and the ripples he cast.
I’ve lost everything but my son… I used to play this to him and dance in our back garden at our old house… he was about 3 then and that was about 10 years ago… THIS, and Starship, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now…
He was such a fat, chubby, cuddly, happy baby and, somehow, these two songs bring us together throughout all we have lost.
Side note: my friend used to play and tour with The Thompson Twins on drums!😊
When they are still in your Heart
They are never totally gone...
Great tune 80s superb decade here's to your uncle ❤
So sorry for your loss, may this song bring back good memories
Just got out of heart surgery 2 days ago and im singing this in my room
May you have a very speedy recovery!

Best of luck man.....
An 80s masterpiece
J'm an Italian fan 58 years old and j have a big dream for me It's criminal that a band like them isn't playing their Art anymore J'd like to suggest a maybe utopistic proposal: why all' the fans that still love them so much and we'll always do won't all make a petition a collection of signatures and send to all' of them asking to reform their fantastic band?Maybe it's a crazy idea but why we don't try and proove Them how much we still love Them j really hope someone will join my idea

I lived through the 80s with my sisters. What a great time! Driving around town with the top down listening to great music. Both sisters are gone and I just lost my dad. Now, the music that I love, makes me cry. 😢
I was in middle school when this came out. I heard it on the radio and made my parents sit in the car with me in the garage until it was done. The production, arrangement, songwriting -- all gorgeous. I decided at that moment I would be a professional musician and music producer. And that's what I am. I'll always be grateful to Tom Bailey and crew for that moment, and this song, in my life.
Amazing moment… sometimes that’s all it takes 😊❤
Just want to say that I subscribed to your channel just because of your antidote
Was in middle school, too, when it came out. Remember listening to it on my portable cassette player.
I mean it's ok, wouldn't say its near the best of the 80s
I hope u have listened 2 Japan & there songs, especially the album tin drum, will blow ure socks of, u will not b dissappointed, the production, arrangement, the togetherness in harmony is perfection

We had the best music ever. 70s & 80s will never be matched. We had it all.

I'm 54. Grew up in 80s. But I'll let 90s sneak into our little club. I know R&B broke through, but it was tame. It was small enough to let pop & rock lead.
I'm old as hell, having lived through the '60s. Damn good music in that decade. The music of the 1980s, along with the great music videos, pretty well matched it. Amazing stuff. Which decade is better? Doesn't matter. You love what you love.

The music today will never compare to the 80s.❤
Damned right! How many songs written today could ever be regarded as a classic?
WAP is definitely a classic. For different reasons though. . .
There's no more creativity in music anymore. It's always the same. The voices all sound the same and just can't capture the magic of the decades of old. Though contradictory to that statement there are a lot of amazing synth wave of today I discovered a lot of them through this retro wave wallpapers app on my phone that plays retro style synthwave music, my all time favorite would be this song called Still Haunting Me by Magic Dance. I highly recommend it, it needs to be heard. But in general the standard popular music is today just has no magic anymore.
I doubt it cuz I never heard of it and I heard all songs that are classic.@@DazmoTube
@@GeddyLeeBell There is as much great music today as ever. You forgot or never heard the less popular songs on less successful albums from decades ago -- songs that got little to no radio play. Today, you can find almost anything online if you're willing to listen.

I had tickets to see The Police following their Synchronicity album. It was at the Hollywood Park race track (terrible venue) and there were several opening bands that were very big in the new wave genre. Berlin, The Fix, Thompson Twins then The Police. I was more of a rocker and was there for the Police. I must say that Berlin and The Fixx were ok, but The Thompson Twins absolutely killed it. I was shocked. I had heard a couple of their songs on MTV, but they really had a great sound and energy live. Every time I hear them I think of that day.
