Old times? What makes you think all people want to live the same way or thinks that it somehow entirely revolutionary to discard traditionalism? Is it, perhaps, bias encouraged by the culture you came from? Of course it is natural to want what you want and what you find familiar, but to assume others consider it "old and new" and to be shocked and assume someone is "pretending to go back in time", when historically speaking, traditionalism has been the norm for the greater part of history than these new ideas of what a relationship should and should not be like. By the way, traditionalism is not old as in outdated; it's just not expected as a norm anymore - that does not mean "The new way of living" is superior to traditional ways of living, or that they can't be combined, or that people don't want to be a house wife anymore. I find it so awkward when people say "old days", what is that supposed to mean when it is basically under a century ago, and in some places, decades? That we are somehow the historical epitome of enlightenment? I've gotten the impression that it is somehow negatively viewed to be traditional in some way? Is the underlying connotation of "old" supposed to be negative? It is a genuine question.
