Regarding the things Eric said around 12:25+ that I couldn't explain, somebody left a comment on my Tumblr post with a lot of helpful info! You can see the post here: www.tumblr.com/detailtilted/744070066543509504/comic-con-2008-enhanced-edition-of-supernatural
The below info is all from them. Regarding #1, I've uploaded a corrected subtitle file to properly show "Raven-Symoné".
    1. What I had incorrectly subtitled as "Raven Snow" was actually "Raven-Symoné", a new character added in Season 6 of The Cosby Show. Eric referenced this again in a 2009 interview here: www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a147268/supernatural-creator-discusses-plot-twist/.
    2. The Hawaiian wedding might be a reference to either Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding (2003) or a trip to Hawaii taken in The Cosby Show.
    3. "We're in London now" may be a reference to the characters going to London on the TV show Friends.
They also mentioned that "shark jumping" is a reference from Fonzie on Happy Days.

Thanks so much for this video, I'm really enjoying watching these early seasons panels.
That Bruce Campbell guy that they wanted to bring in but he declined, he was supposed to be older John Winchester. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was only supposed to be in the flashback scene to 22 years ago in the pilot, and a different one, Bruce Campbell, was approached to play the older (S1) John. Since they were unable to get him, and because he was the only actor they had considered, they were left to come up with a new solution. As Jensen put it, "They kind of threw their hands in the air, and they're like, 'Well, maybe we can gray Jeff up and have him come back and play an older version of himself.'" (from 'Inside of You' Michael Rosenbaum's podcast with Jensen).

Thank you! It always makes me especially happy if people enjoy this particular video because it was the largest amount of work out of all the ones I’ve done so far. 😅
On the video, under Bruce Campbell’s picture, I actually have a blurb saying “Supernatural's producers originally wanted Bruce Campbell to play present-day John Winchester. See video description reference #4.” And then in my excessively long video description under reference 4, there’s a direct link to the part of that Inside of You video where they talked about that. I figure not everyone reads those little sidebar blurbs though - understandably so, since they could be staring at Jared and Jensen instead. 🤣 I had actually hoped the notes would be unobtrusive so people could ignore the ones they weren't interested in.
Until I did the research for this video, I hadn’t known about that. Actually, I have to admit I hadn’t even known who Bruce Campbell was! I’ve learned all sorts of random pop culture things while doing these videos. It’s hard to image someone other than JDM in the role, but I guess we might be saying the same about Campbell if things had gone that way.

Ha, and then when I checked my video description to make sure the link was really there, I noticed I had a typo saying he was asked to play “present-day John Campbell”. Thank goodness that same typo wasn’t in my video itself, because I couldn’t change that! But I CAN (and did) fix my video description. I’m glad you brought it up!

@rose_mnor No worries, I definitely don't expect many people to notice or read all that! The "Video Reference Notes" section is the only part that contains additional info to supplement the video's sidebar info. All the rest of those links are credits for the many resources I used when creating the video.

Wow! 19 videos! Kudos to your patience. I really love the talking head bubbles. Also, thanks for adding all the references. As a non American, I can infer that they're making pop culture references but it's good to actually know what they are talking about 💜
It was an entertaining panel as usual but Eric had to handle most questions because they were about S4 and only Eric was authorized to answer 😄 which he did with great flair. But the usual shenanigans from J2 were slightly subdued. Jared in particular was uncharacteristically quieter 😂 My favourite moment is Jensen talking about two cowboys and the audience erupting into laughter 😉😀

Haha, thank you so much! I saw your comments come in while I was working and it was a big bright spot in what was otherwise a hectic day. 😀 I was especially happy to get your comment on this particular video because it was so challenging for me. It’s the only one so far that nearly burned me out, but I was happy in the end with what I learned while doing it. I’m relieved that you liked the talking head sometimes-bubbles! 😅
I agree, the cowboy part was hilarious! I missed the higher level of J2 shenanigans in this one, but I did gain a better appreciation for just how funny Eric and Ben could both be.

@@DetailTilted Oh for sure Eric and Ben have amazing sense of humour. I'm also kind of in love with Ben's accent. And his laugh 🥰😁 I love his interviews on Spn Then and Now. He has some wonderfully deep observations.

You saw well - information from that time: When Jensen and Jared come out onstage, fans notice they don't even look at each other or acknowledge each other's presence. As the panel goes on, it's interesting to watch them slowly interact (mostly silently) over the course of the panel. Jensen especially seems to walk out with a resolve that Jared quickly works all panel to break down. It's an unusual panel in that most of the antics are actually more created by Kripke than J2. Most of their shared looks and laugh together are over jokes from Kripke and the other writers.
*Rumorhasit: The guys had a small fight earlier that day.
There is a video from this con - about 7 parts and there people wrote in the comments - what is happening with our boys. I'm glad it never happened again

@evavseteckova8546 When I saw some of those comments on the original videos, I felt like fans may have been reading too much into things. They could have been correct of course -- any two people who spend that much time around each other are bound to have some arguments -- but I think sometimes fans overanalyze their behavior and make everything about their relationship instead of remembering that they’re real people with a wide variety of external factors that can affect them, just like anyone else. It’s like when a friend immediately jumps to the conclusion that you must be mad at them when really you’re just tired, or you've just realized you forgot to buy eggs at the grocery store and you're trying to figure out how you'll fit in another grocery store trip, or you're still thinking about a problem at work, or something else that has nothing to do with them. Or maybe nothing’s wrong at all and you have no idea why on earth they think you’re mad at them.
Jensen sounded congested at times, so I think he might have been a little sick. They also could have intentionally been more restrained because they were conscious that they weren’t the only ones on stage. They may not have wanted to draw too much attention away from the writers, who were rarely seen by the fans - especially since so many of the questions were things only the writers could really answer. They may also have been feeling a little intimidated, or like they needed to be on their best behavior, with Eric’s bosses in the room and/or with Comic-Con being such a major event. It was Jared's first time there, and only Jensen's second, and their first time being there together.

Coming back to add - I laughed out loud at the "wheels bearing fruit" image! Not bad photoshop at all. It was wonderful and kinda complemented Ben's whacky comment! 😄

Hot guys. Lol so was the "two cowboys" an unintentional reference to Brokeback Mountain, hence the audience losing it and Jensen saying he walked right into that one? 😂

    • @DetailTilted
      @DetailTilted  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Haha, I was never quite sure if people were laughing because they thought it had Brokeback Mountain implications or if they were laughing because they thought his analogy was a bit of a stretch. But since we both thought of Brokeback, I bet it's likely that's what a lot of the other fans were thinking too. 🤣

If you have any old convention videos you’d be willing to contribute to this project, please e-mail me at DetailTilted@gmail.com. If you know anyone who might have some, I’d also greatly appreciate it if you could let them know about my search. Even if your videos are on TH-cam, I’d rather get my hands on the original files if you still have them. The originals are much more likely to upscale well. If I use your videos, I’ll of course credit you. Also, if I can get your videos to upscale (I can’t always), then I’d be happy to send the upscaled versions back to you for your collection. Thank you!
