We demanded him back so much that a big part of us also don't forgive the absence of Cas from the last two episodes. Not to mention that nail...
He was extremely annoyed because Sera decided to cut Misha from the show in season 7. He knew it was gonna be a bad decision because Cas is a fan favorite, he had a lot lot more to offer, and it was very unfair and plus Misha is one of his best friends. And he was right, the result was so bad that the show almost got canceled and Sera had to bring Castiel back. Jensen's "yeah" is him just encouraging the question about Cas because he wants to hear Sera fumble. You can see both him and Ben Edlund being visibly annoyed when Sera was answering that question.
She deserved better than to be killed off in the first 3 minutes of the episode. She had the potential to finally be Sam's love interest that also understands the hunting life.
