It worked! Called LG. They referred me to an "authorized" repair person who when I called said they don't do LG and don't know why LG would refer them. He gave me another "authorized" repair person who when we contacted them had the same answer: "we don't do LG". LG Service is an absolute trainwreck. Went to the store where we purchased in in June, 2018. They do were not helpful. So I turned to TH-cam. Tried to the power off, tilt, reset. Whalaaaaa. So grateful.

The noise filter is mostly there to prevent the "LG direct drive" variable frequency motor controller/drive from back-feeding transients on the power wiring that can nuisance trip smart GFCI breakers who identify the VFD as a ground fault.

I also had a bad power line filter. It was discolored around the fuse , just like the one you showed. It also melted the plastic tray where the fuse is mounted, on the bottom you could see the solder pads had overheated and deformed the plastic also. It looks like the fuse is overheating and the solder pads are too small. After replacing the filter I measured the line current and it was 10.45 A. Well within the ratings of the fuse (15A) . I think they need to address this problem. A short term “power spike” would not cause the plastic to deform

Since I can get intermittent power to the touchpad, would this eliminate the solution mentioned here (blown fuse in noise filter)?. New Problem: While the panel now lights up ... The dishwasher won't fill with water. Error code "IE". We don't think the water inlet valve is faulty (we tested it independently and it had good water flow). So we are perplexed why the dishwasher won't fill with water. More details on "Update 2" below. Any thoughts on what to check next?
    Previously Posted:
I have an LG dishwasher with no power and no lights. It was struck by lightning a few days after purchasing (my relatives gave the dishwasher to me, as they got a new one with the insurance claim). I've replaced the noise filter, main pcb board, light panel board and door latch. Seems to have continuity through both fuses and at the power supply. Still, no power and no lights. When I press the power button, the main pcb board has a red light that lights each time the power button is pressed. At my wits end as to what to check next. Any thoughts?
Update: I reconnected the old PCB board ... still no lights on the front panel, but the drive motor pulsates when I press power. My guess is both PCB boards are faulty. Making progress perhaps.
Update 2: The replacement PCB board from E-bay didn't fix the problem. But, once we disconnected the Drive Motor wiring harness, the power and light panel be came functional - hurray :) Unfortunately, we now have an "IE" error code, indicating a water inlut issue. The water inlet valve isn't being switched on to call for water, so the error code keeps coming on. We determined that the water inlet valve is good, since we tested in with direct connection to the 120v power and water immediately started flowing. We don't know why the dishwasher isn't allowing the water inlet valve to open and allow water to fill. Any idea what's going on?

I just pulled my “noise filter” and have a little more than 2 ohms. I’m guessing that I’ve got a different problem if I’m not getting power. I guess I’m going to open the face like in the beginning of the video.
Update1: mine has the clean face. So it may be slightly different, manufactured in 2009. The fuse on my main panel is good too, and I am getting power to the time LCD and the power button. So I guess it’s worth the $24 it appears I can spend for a control panel someone on eBay has. Got my fingers crossed it saves my dishwasher.

That did not come out correctly, but your answer was cheesy.
At least it was to me as an elderly woman. Lol
I guess I was really asking a rhetorical question because I had already fixed the problem... several times.
I have never called a handyman out when I could do it myself, and this is easy.... just annoying.
I meant to say that I do not know why LG designed their dishwashers that way.
I don't always use my dishwasher, but when I do, I would often open the door to let everything air-dry.
I realized that water was collecting in the outflow pipe, causing it to trip and turn off power.
Now I only put it on normal and let it run, including dry. Problem solved.

@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel oh, I see this is money to support the channel, but it says I could join for $2.99, so why are you bumping it up to 5? Lol
