We were ready to scrap out dishwasher and then I took your directions and slammed the fuse off of our concrete step and we are now running some dishes in the dishwasher. Thanks a million
This is the first time I've worked on a major appliance, but I figured it's broken so why not try? I've never even used a multimeter and had to go buy one and then watch another video to learn how to use it for continuity testing. I already had some Torx screwdrivers and your instructions and camera work were perfect! My dishwasher is not a Whirlpool, but it's nearly the same and so I didn't have to remove the black cover over the fuse section. I did have to bang the fuse on my garage floor and, wow, like magic, continuity! I'm running a load of dishes right now and my spouse is very impressed - as are my girlfriends who are scared to try things like this. A big THANKS to guys like you who help us women (and men) learn new skills here on TH-cam! Thanks also for saving my household money and possibly months of waiting for a new dishwasher with how everything is being delayed due to the cargo ships.
If I could give this guy 100 thumbs up I would. We need more TH-cam content like this. Not people trying to become instafamous. Great content, keep it up. You are a lifesaver!!!
I thought I was going to be without a dishwasher until I could order the fuse, and then I happened to see your vid. I must admit, I had no confidence that slamming the fuse on the floor was going to do anything but give me a little discharge, but dang, it worked like a charm! Thanks so much!
Great video.... Changed the fuse and it worked perfectly the first time, then it blew again the next time we used it... guess I have other issues that are causing it to blow .. ugh. Thanks for the video. Your instructions were very easy to follow and explained very well.
I've given up finding a thermal fuse in my model Kenmore Elite 665.12783k311. It doesn't exist. I've taken it completely apart. Good luck getting it back together!
I did replace the fuse after the old kicked off again, but the new fuse lasted about a week before it kicked. Problem not solved yet, but I can pull that top panel and slap that fuse and put it back together faster each time, now. Down to about five minutes.

Very nicely done. My model is different and the fuse is different but your clear description and explanation is great. I was able to repair mine because of your video. Thank you.
This is a good video, but unfortunately my Frigidaire which is maybe 5 years old, doesn't have a fuse up inside this control panel. I'm trying to figure out where it is cuz it must have one
Please explain how and WHY banging the fuse resets it!? I’m an appliance technician and have never done this so I’m very interested. After you bang it, how long does this type of “fix” last? WHY does it even work on the first place? Please advise! Thank you for the tip!
Nice trick about resetting the fuse. Are you sure it's actually still a fuse and not just a completed circuit? If it's permanently connected then that could be a fire hazard.
I had the uncommon problem the latch has two arcade button switches and one was sticking in so I worked it loose and is fixed until I get a new one, im sure it will stick again eventually.
Always cool to learn something... Lights came on, which another might say is concerning. Best to turn off power for most of us. Please pardon if I missed that being said.
I just bought a brand new whirlpool dish washer. Hooked it up, used a new power cord. When I plug it in the control panel flickers for 3 seconds then all power is off again. When lights do come on, it's like half light up almost like a brown out I have no idea what to do other then return it to lowes for a replacement. Any ideas? WDF520PADM is the model
After having no power to the dishwasher, I replaced the thermal fuse and wiring. Once complete, the power came back and when I started the dishwasher cycle water started to flow as it normally does. After 10 seconds it stopped. The lights are still on, but it seems like its stuck. I canceled and started a new cycle. Same thing, it starts like normal, water starts flowing in, and then after 10 seconds it stops. I can hear the control panel inside clicking. Any thoughts?
I know this is an older video. Ive got a black whirlpool dishwasher. From around late 2017 is when we bought our house and replaced the dishwasher. We only used it about 1 time per week. It died about 6 months ago. Its one that has the buttons hidden under the counter once its closed. There is zero light or power going to this thing. Will this video fall in my lane? Thanks in advance.
Can the fuse intermittently stop working? My power intermittently goes out on my ge. Usually unplugging it for an hour it'll fix it temporarily. I replaced the control board. Still the same. A month later and the unplug trick isn't working anymore.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance It doesn't power on. Circuit breaker turned off when this happened. I turned it back on, but no power to the DW. (No lights) Bosch model SHE43RL5UC/64
@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I'm having the same issue with my fridigaire. Doesn't seem to have one in the door portion. The model I'm working with is FFBD2406NS11B. I bought a whirlpool from Lowe’s 8 weeks ago. One day it had no power. I called whirlpool because it’s still under warranty. A guy came out and said it was an electrical issue in the house.
I seem to have this exact problem with my 3yr old GE dishwasher. My door has no screws, however, although it appears the cover to the panel might pop off from the outside/front. I'm afraid to try to force it without confirmation--does anyone know for sure?
After resetting the fuse and turning it on. The washer is coming up with 2 minutes on the board. After the two minutes are up, I'm stuck right at the beginning, no power.
Mine is odd. It no longer lights up after washing to show it’s done, all lights off. So I have to go flip the control panel in the garage to get it working again. Last night it took me 15 times of flipping the fuse box to get the lights to come back on. I actually hear it trying to do something after I flip the fuse box each time… HELP!

Hopefully you got this fixed. If not, check that all wires have good inulation on them, and that no bare metal connections are happening
Good 👍.. What could be the issue if sometimes no power then after few hours back to normal ?
Which dishwasher do you have?
Instead of hitting the fuse with a hammer, I hit the dishwasher with a sledgehammer, repeatedly. I feel much better.
Yep, that works too😂😂😂😂
