Great vid and editing. Almost looks like you had to pull back the turn on the Riva Sponsons as you were turning into the buoy. I have a GTX 300 with the Sponsons on the 4th position. Just love how they respond.
Yes. Some turns there I did have to back off just a little bit. Got a lot of bite into the water for sure. By the way, thank you for the compliment. Appreciate the feedback!
I have mine on hole four, also. Made a big difference just moving it from hole three to hole four. I've love how it handles, and tracks, in rough water. I also added the Riva Intake Grate. GTX 230. Interesting video. Different perspective.
Excellent camerawork with the drone and great comparison videos. I think the stock ones are fine for many riders, but the adjustability of the Riva sponsons are fantastic. Middle setting is what I generally ride on for longer touring riders, 4th setting is good for for harder turning but it can make the ski bite and then let loose pretty hard and 5th setting is absurd. Basically don't ever put it there. 2nd setting is fun for playing around with it, which can be really fun on these big skis when they lose traction out back.
Hey there, thank you very much for the comment. Absolutely love the sponsons. I have not tried any other settings just yet as these are brand new for me. I will be putting them in the 4th setting. Thanks for commenting. Much appreciated.
I’ve had my Riva sponsons in a box staring at me for a year. I’m not sure if I want them on. I like the rear washing out a little. I’ve accidentally thrown my wife off the ski in a sharp turn with stock sponsons, I can’t imagine the Riva sponsons. If I’m not racing around buoys I’m not sure why I want the hard bite. I’m up in the air on it now.
Good point. Don’t forget, you can adjust the sponsons higher out of the water so you get more of that washing out in the tail of the ski. We don’t race either. It just gives us a better straight line in the water when in the ocean or in some chop. But again, the cool thing about the RIVA is that they are fully adjustable.
