    As someone who has owned a 20l in ballistic nylon since 2013, its aged remarkably well. Only thing thats happened is the suede bottom got a bit dirty, and a couple of the zipper pulls broke (but zipper still fully functional, and pulls can be replaced). I think I paid 450 or 500 back then (retail), and they can be had on sale now for around 600 usd, which imo is a good deal for a 10-15+ year investment. I laughed at your comments about wired headphones to an amp, I actually carry a portable dac/amp and use wireless hifi iems, but only store in that pouch, and do not use headphone through hole. I can also resell my bag for 150-200 no problem, and put the funds towards a newer bag, so it becomes an even better "investment". I do prefer ballistic nylon to the more recent cordura theyve been using. It has a silkier hand and seems to be impervious to damage. This is what I read about the difference:
    "Ballistic is typically the heavier of the two fabrics and it generally has the superior tensile and tear strength. For reasons unknown, CORDURA Classic typically has greater abrasion resistance. The generally accepted theory is that the air textured yarn has more bulk, which helps spread the wear. The air texturing also creates a canvas-like look and feel, the downside being that the slight pile does tend to collect dust and lint. In contrast, Ballistic nylon has quite a smooth hand feel and gloss finish."
    So in general it seems that theyve switched over to cordura because it can be colored, and it may offer better abrasion resistance (but worse tear and tensile strength). Curious how the cordura will wear with time.

      This is an incredibly detailed comment! Thanks for your perspective. I plan to have this bag for as long as possible so hearing that yours has lasted that long is great.

    Awesome review, on the off chance I thought I would check TH-cam for anything about this bag before I ordered one and found your channel.
    Just ordered myself the light blue one tonight 😎

      Thank you very much! I really was lucky to find it discounted in this colour, definitely one of the best colours they've done in a while.

    Thanks for doing this video! Had no idea that side was for carrying umbrellas. Sad that it can’t carry a water bottle.

    mine is 8 years old now, and the only issue I had was the zipper pulls broke on two zips. I replaced with original RiRi ones and boom as good as new.

    Mate! I bought the black one from flannels for the sale price. Wanted the olive one but it was full price and I couldn't justify that price. I have the same issue with the laptop compartment stitching and yes it p*ssed me off royally but wasn't prepared to return it.

      Hahaha we're truly kindred spirits going through the same struggle, I didn't return mine either in the end.

    Hi bro, do you think it can fit the new M series 16inch Macbook Pro ?

    • @jackapots
      @jackapots  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it definitely can, I use one of those in the video at 2:10 you can see it inside a black sleeve and it also fits into the sleeve inside the bag with a little effort (although the stitching being imperfect on that sleeve led to me never using it personally). You could probably fit an even bigger laptop than that.

    These bags are made in China - still great quality but be careful with the zipper guard things, seem to be the quickest to Frey/go.
