I first knew about this engine when I saw Rocky Mountain Express as a kid, and now, this engine is one of my favorites. I hope to see the Empress in person one day. Also I love how you refer to CPKC as CPKFC
Another excellent video! I got to be among the few back in 2010 for CP's 125 anniversary to ride the empress from Calgary to Revelstoke. Best trip I ever got to be apart of. Its great to see CP's steam program back in full swing. Got to see her set off in Calgary a few days ago. She look fantastic!
Caught 2816 in Shreveport, managed to pace her for about a half mile, I caught her a grand total of 4 times at different times, once on Friday and 3 times when she moved on Saturday, on Saturday at one of the crossings she blew her 6 chime, and the other she used her 5 chime air whistle, thought it was pretty cool I got to hear both
0:48 Fun fact 2816's commuter service in mtl is on the same line I take and get this, the cars she is pulling, were retired, in 2005, with even the then new f59phi pulling em. How insane is that?
0:19 If you're going to list the locomotive's tractive effort and the related geometry, you need *all* the related geometry for it. Driving wheel diameter, cylinder size (and number) and the boiler pressure. That's 275 psi in this case.
2816 was also featured in "The Treasure Train" as a locomotive owned by the emperor of peru that would eventually he restored and driven by a group of children. For some odd reason, Pere Marquette 1225 is on the cover of the movie, except it was renumbered to 2816 and had the lettering on its tender removed.
CP 2816 and n&w 611 they both had many excursions and traveled long distances they both had many fan favorites. Honestly, I think everyone likes Hudsons and streamlined steam locomotives after all.
my childhood brain slightly melted when my phone rang at the bunk house saying I got the steam train home as an engineer (when they were doing test runs)
Unfortunately 2816's Mexico Trip has some Tragedy First the unit stuck and killed a 20 year old Woman and as of now her headlight and numberboard were damaged after some dumb people threw rocks at the engine. Both were in Mexico
And how exactly can you get in trouble with youtube for using real life footage considering that you can't get in trouble for using real life footage of trainz from what I know 🤔.
One is owned by a class 1, the other is owned by the Province (only leased to the WCRA and the city of Squamish). One is in good condition, the other requires millions of dollars to get it running, one is running freely, the other is basically landlocked thanks to CN being CN
Cpkcs' 2816 in Mexico was heat

Welcome back,Cowl Unit Production!
BRO IS BACK!
Love that clip with SSR at the end
The legend is back, and if you hear closely, you'll hear him say CPKFC on 3:49 😆 🤣
I had saw their Canadian Pacific 2816 back two days ago at the CPKC headquarters in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
My favorite steam locomotive of all time.
CP, if you’re seeing this, put Maroon/Grays behind it on her excursion
They are putting maroon lightweights behind her
They put a pair of F units behind 2816 (Edit: They are 2 CPR FP9A locomotives)
*cpkc*
@rambling_railfan foam level: *MAXIMUM*
And stop using that damn air whistle all the time
Nice touch adding the meet with the South Simcoe Railway at the end. That little line needs all the screen time it can get.
Saw the empress in Calgary and she was beautiful if anyone is able to go see her I wholeheartedly recommend it
I just saw her recently and she does not disappoint you. It was a really fun chase.
The legend is back!
The legend has returned
The Man the Myth The LEGEND HAS RETURN!
Always liked that Tuscan Red, and grey paint scheme.
at least you talk about 2816 in a great way it is my cpkfc steam locomotive and I can't wait I see it In person
Nice work as always, hope to see you at the South Simcoe sometime!

The GOAT returns!!!

Halton the goat returns

If you could, I'd love to see a video on Southern Pacific 2873, the last surviving kodachrome painted locomotive
Welcome back

Driving wheel diameter, cylinder size (and number) and the boiler pressure.
That's 275 psi in this case.
Ah, forgot about adding in the boiler pressure until i realized it when uploaded. 😅
So cool!
Welcome back.
"please bring 2816 to toronto" GET THIS MAN A TRUE
2816 was also featured in "The Treasure Train" as a locomotive owned by the emperor of peru that would eventually he restored and driven by a group of children. "hopefully some of y'all can get to see this beautiful machine" *cries in filipino style*

Amazing video! Did you know that Steamtown was located in New Hampshire for awhile before being moved to Vermont?
3:49 4:57 Did I just hear CPKFC?
CP 2816 and n&w 611 they both had many excursions and traveled long distances they both had many fan favorites. Honestly, I think everyone likes Hudsons and streamlined steam locomotives after all.
Welcome Back Cowl Unit Productions
my childhood brain slightly melted when my phone rang at the bunk house saying I got the steam train home as an engineer (when they were doing test runs)
2:23 *THE MILWAUKEE ROAD*
Will 2816 come down to Southern California?
It'll pass by Laredo,TX (near me) on May 28th, 2024 for about 4 or 5 hours.
I went to see the 2816 train and it was cool
I have a model of 2816 but it’s on work in progress for rolling line
Hey welcum back
The rent a girlfriend op caught me so off guard at the beginning
MY QUEEEEEEEN!!!!
Hunter Harrison destroyed every railway he touched. CN is still recovering from him.
I saw 2816 in Portage
So the question then is, does she have a future after this tour?
Unfortunately 2816's Mexico Trip has some Tragedy
First the unit stuck and killed a 20 year old Woman
and as of now her headlight and numberboard were damaged after some dumb people threw rocks at the engine.
Both were in Mexico
Bet ya'll didn't know it's tender is from H1c 2822
Hes fucking back
would be cool if you could turn up your voice in the mix, can barely hear you at certain points
3:48
"CPKFC"
3:48 cpkFc 😅
My OCD is asking why the data is in imperial except for how many miles the engine racked in revenue service 💀
Hey buddy it’s been awhile
I hope she visits us in her birthplace of montréal
I honestly didn't know that 2816 had smoke deflectors
3:47 CP KFC 😂
CPKFC>>>> 3:49 nice
3:49 "CPKFC"💀
And how exactly can you get in trouble with youtube for using real life footage considering that you can't get in trouble for using real life footage of trainz from what I know 🤔.
What really sucks is that CP decided to ONLY operate it on WEEKDAYS!!!! I’ll be in school then 😭
Cp 2816 in Mexico is not going good
Does Mexico not have rail safety rules like the rest of the world?
@@Dr.DisneyWell 2816 just killed a woman after that dumbass starting to throw rocks at 2816 which damage 2816 parts
If 2816 was Restored,Why Can’t 2860 be Restored as Well?
One is owned by a class 1, the other is owned by the Province (only leased to the WCRA and the city of Squamish). One is in good condition, the other requires millions of dollars to get it running, one is running freely, the other is basically landlocked thanks to CN being CN
in short, it's a train that moves
