- Sit back and join us as we follow the Empress on her way back to Calgary! We will follow the train along the Shreveport Subdivision to Heavener, Oklahoma. Paired along with that footage, you will see footage aboard the RCP and a look behind the scenes in the Shreveport Yard. Huge thanks to CPKC for inviting us aboard and putting on such an historic event!
Notice: We had permission from CPKC to film within the yard and wore the proper PPE while doing so.

Huge thanks to CPKC for giving some of us the opportunity to ride aboard the RCP as well as allowing us to gather footage inside the Shreveport Yard! Wishing the steam crew and staff safe travels back home to Calgary!
AMAZING video!
I could listen to that 6 chime for hours
If I only had one chance in my life to ride a class one railroad business train, it would be this one! I’m beyond jealous!
Good Job. 👍🏼
Great video! Defiantly wishing I could chase the northbound leg
Very cool.
Thank you for the information, excellent catching all the trains, I like them, they're awesome, @MattTheUPRailfan2006, thank you very much and have a wonderful weekend.
You came out victorious, friend.👍🏼🚂📸☝🏽
Fantastic video and share. Enjoyed watching and have a great upcoming weekend. Steve
Well done....excellent video....thank you.....👍🇨🇦🇨🇦 from British Columbia
A sweet video. I can promise you that before I was fortunate enough to meet you in person at the Shreveport Railroad Museum event a month or so back, I would never have willingly sat through--and truly enjoyed--a 25-minute video about a train. You have done a beautiful job. Your love and passion for these machines truly shines through. Onward young man!
This may be y’all’s best work. Congrats.
Nice
This footage is amazing! 2816 is really a marvel and is very impressive. Personally I really hope CPKC doesn’t retire 2816 after the tour, because ignoring some real controversy and craziness in central Mexico, The tour was a real success, and it seems like the crews are taking amazing care of the engine,so it likely will be in good shape! And maybe if that Harrison guy didn’t get in charge, 2816 would have [maybe] been joined by G5a 1201. Hopefully CPKC can keep 2816 running (and PLEASE someday team up with 261 again), and continue with their original plans to evaluate 1201. That aside, this is absolutely amazing footage and deserves a award! Keep up the good work!
And I wish 2816 comes to Portland Oregon and team up sometimes with sp 4449 so 4449 can have auxiliary water tender back with 4449!
Excellent as always!
great thanks for the ride
Super nice done video, love the CP 1401, thumbs up :)
13:23 It is really quite cool to see the visible shift when the 2816 starts, as most steam locomotives do. Glad you caught this!
Awesome chase Bishop!
That was nice of CPKC letting you ride the RCP with #2816. The Selkirk dome car was especially beautiful, and I can imagine it in SP Daylight colors...
Speaking of the Selkirk name, I am reminded of the fact that its also the designation CP had for its 2-10-4s, instead of the normal Texas designation.
I also forgot, I had to chuckle about the history of the Glacier dining car. If that car has a spirit, it would be fairly embarrassed that its working now for the rival of the railroad it originally worked for!
Superb, as always!
I went out to heavener and page to film the empress and got the ouachita mountains in the background btw let me know when you’re gonna be up here this fall
8:43 is where me and my group were on that photo line during the June 15th chase! I was standing in between Dylan and Aidan
No ditch lights today!
Steam* whistle. Which sounds a little off to me. What an honor to ride on this magnificent train , sad so many are glued to their phone 😕
I think it has two, one push button electronically controlled just on/off, and one to a second whistle operated by a cord.
Awesome video and clean footage man! What camera do you use?
I was able to watch this train pass in my town both directions. What is the car behind the engines that sounds like a motor running and it has an exhaust pipe out the top?
That would be the tender. Steam is used to keep the heavy oil from gelling in cold weather, and the pipe exhausts the used steam.
Where is the Belle house in relation to the engine shops at Deramus?
The two tracks just south of the engine shops. On Google earth, you can see it between the shops and the car repair facility.
@@LouisianaRailProductions cool. It's been too long since I drove by Deramus.
👍😀😀😀😀😀🚂🇬🇧
IDK If you potentially runs 2816 w/ 100% or below used cooking oil. bc sustainable and stuff...
What is the wheel arrangement?
Hudson type, meaning a 4-6-4.
35 mph
