I sample my records with a SL1200 Mk2 w/ Stanton 881 MkII-S cartridge and found out that the pre-amps of the Live 2 lacks low end and switched to the phono stage of my vintage 1978 Onkyo A-10 amplifier instead and the difference in low end is remarkable. I bought the Live 2 for it’s added phono input but I’m a little disappointed. It’s not bad don’t get me wrong, but it worth while to invest in a high quality pre-amp for sampling via the main inputs. Just my 2 cents.
What was engraved in them was analog recording studios. 🤷🏾♂️
I love finding gems in vinyl. The store I buy my records at has a turntable and headphones to listen before you buy. I love finding some fire and then getting home to find more gems!
That third sample was used on a dope joint from the late 90s, Joey Chavez and Defari - Develop Tools. Have two copies of the vinyl, the other joints on it are also straight bangers. Joey Chavez is extremely underrated as a producer, he did some much shit for Dilated Peoples, Swollen Members etc.

I love this! I think it's important to listen to the originals as well. You had Henry Mancini's "Charade" there-great music from a bygone time! I believe every time you use and remix something, you should also pay respect to the original source. Great work!

Love your style of buying vinyl, I see people use their phones . For me I look at what instruments might have been used and I look at the record too see how much and many grooves it might have wich sometimes means intros / interludes / outros with instruments without drums which means loops. Sometimes even the cover gets me😂. So I sometimes buy ones that I don’t even need lmao… hella clean chops tho my boi!🦾🥶🔊

I simply dig from any where I can listen, TH-cam, iTunes, stores, whenever I hear something that catches my interest I will Shazam it and then look it up to see if I can find that record on Discogs.com and order it. You could just stream these on TH-cam most of the time, but I am a vinyl connoisseur and enjoy collecting records whenever I can. Lol. Truly a vinyl junky lol 😂

Hey, is there a way or a video explaining how to import stems from another DAW, like Reasonstudio, which I use? I'd like to track my stems into the rest of my beat in the MPC or import older beats into the MPC for mixing. Is this possible?

Probably the most trusted is the Technics 1200. Used by DJs and beat makers throughout the years. There are plenty of cheaper options though.

I know you use multiple devices, so are you in controller mode and saving to your machine?
Yes, in this video, I’m using the MPC and controller mode saving these program chops directly into the SSD drive. I have installed on the MPC.
@malobeats oh okay. Should have used computer instead of machine. Was thinking putting it in a central location that was accessible from another MPC in controller mode would be the way.

If you listen to records on your phone in a store, what's the point of buying records when you can sample them straight from TH-cam?
Try it. You will answer your own question. The stuff on line is stripped to the max before the quality is noticeable. Then compressed. You can hear and see the difference in the wav file
Are the samples cleared?
Most likely not. He's sampling from vinyl. So, I would assume it's not cleared yet. You would need to clear the samples afterwards or when someone is purchasing the beat. Sometimes the artist take upon that responsibility or the label.

Great content as always. I have the same MPC Live 2 Retro edition. It will not connect to WiFi no matter what I do. I have tried everything I’ve read on the forums. Switched between different firmwares and nothing works. I’ve open it to see if something might be physically wrong but everything looks to be in good shape. Have you experienced this? If so how did you fix it. Keeping up the great work. 🫡👊🏾
If you use a router: try to change the downgrade the frequency a.k.a generation settings like 802.11n (2.4, 5 GHz) - 802.11ac (5GHz) or 802.11ax (6GHz). Those are the older ones and usually are compatible with newer devices. Or else it could be your internal wifi antenna is disconnected… HTH.
