Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to share this with me. I love seeing these type of messages and glad to know this was right on time for what you might have been going through. Thank you so much brother and your feedback means everything.
Oh man, thanks so much for this video. I’ve been copy sequences to create variations and then arranging them in Song Mode for the longest. It never occurred to me to just lengthen a sequence and create the variations in Grid Mode. As soon as you did that, I said aloud to myself, “Jay, you’re an idiot!” 😅 Nah, but for real, this video was very informative and helpful, just like all your videos. I’ll def also look into the course. Cheers, Malo! ✊🏾
So helpful- best MPC videos online hands down. Question: when exporting programs like you show at the end here, there’s no way to separate pads in the program is there? To separate Kick, Snare, etc.? I guess I could just record directly out and into a daw with each track soloed - but obviously not ideal. Or I just make sure I like my drum mix in the MPC before exporting.
Hey brother, thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and also tapping in right here. There’s actual multiple ways you can tackle this down but the easiest way if you want to separate each pad into its own separate track would be by pressing the “explode” button where you will see your program options page. Once you press that button, it will separate each pad to its own track for a easier way to individually separate these. Another way if you have the MPC Live or X is by using the outputs located on the back of the machine and assigning each pad to the individual physical outputs. Sorry for the long message, but I hope this is helpful.
Respect to u and your super channel. Learning so much from you and the way you explain it and also how you help us all in exploring different methods. Your ability to show us how engage with you and our MPC is a real pleasure and is a credit to you. Peace fella 😊

This is what I do. I create sequences then stitch them together in song mode then add and remove drums or melody for variety while adding in different fx in between. Lastly I’ll add hp/lo pass filters, tape stop through automation. But that’s a whole different step.
Nice class, I was searching for how to convert to sequence like when you turn the whole thing into a sequence by pressing that convert to sequence button why would you want to do that?
Good info. 🤙 I always wondered if people approached beat building the way I do. Like you said 1 sequence with all your variations. Then I usually create the 2nd sequence I call mutes Then I go into track mute and usually do 32 bars and start recording the beat live and then lay it out the way it sounds good to me. Theres also control Z if your using the software to delete if you mess up while your recording but we all know we never do that its perfect from the beginning. Im guessing they changed the export wording from exoplode to separate programs.
