You can't play in space with Tennessees defense in your Ohio state Backfield.and the quarter back rushing passes scrambling for his life from Tennessees defense hitting him every 3rd down
Good point. I really think sometimes when you have way more talent then the other team you say “we gone beat them playing the way they play”. Maybe they learned that they have a Kstate qb that’s not good so let’s play our style of football.
This dudes a joke and a Little10 homer. Calling Ohio states defense the best in the country is so laughable. When he ends up being wrong about this game he should have to address it with no excuses for how bad Ohio state is.
I’m a Vol fan. Joel is right, like it or not (but for the belief in the stat line of OSU and the opinion of the score). Football is not a complex game. If the Vols can’t run the ball effectively, they will lose. If Ohio state cannot hit big plays down the field, they will lose. OSU doesn’t have better players. The game is about matchups.
having seen the score last night he's a realist not a homer.. vols got shredded.. and are lucky osu used 2nd and 3rd string in the 4th quarter or it would of been 60 to 10
TN fan here. Joel is on par with everything here. Our offensive stats are severely overstated thanks to 3 lower tier teams this year. That being said, Nico has made some noticeable progression since the midway point of the season which is relieving. I still don't feel like he's going to throw for 3 TD's and 300 yards, but I at least feel more confident about him. It could be the infamous 'battered vol syndrome (BVS)', but I don't think we win this game and it's even more likely that we lose by 10+ points. I just haven't seen any signs of flash that make me feel great going into Columbus. This team is different than the '22 team with relation to the fact that we have proven to win close gritty games whereas '22 we either had to score 45 points or we didn't have a chance. All that being said and with my lack of confidence, we are driving up to hopefully support the team to a victory. Go vols!
6:45 in and I have to pause to say this: 1. The major personnel grouping change and progression this season has been "getting big, " I.e., the use and expansion of the 12 personal package. 2. Nico HAS progressed. Rewatch the SEC games in order: the growth is clear.

News Flash, Joel! Howard and Chip threw the ball over 30 times in the Michigan game! OSU just got beat at their own game. Plain and simple! Keep burying your head in that sand! 🤣 GBO!!!🍊
Tennessees defense plays against tempo day in day out and they tackle in space better than any team in the country. Pace and space is probably their best option but wont get them past the 24 point range
@matthewcarlton5693 Tennessee has 2 wins over teams above .500 one of em is 7-5. They allowed Georgia who has a much worse offense than us to score 31 pts. They also haven't scored more than 25 pts on a single p4 team with a winning record. Nothing at all delusional about it. Who do you think OSU is?
Like most years, Ohio State built their "elite" ranking mostly beating up on scrubs. Statistically, having the number 1 defense when you play terrible teams is not an accomplishment. The only respectable offenses they faced all year were Penn State, Oregon, and Indiana - all of which happen to be among the games in which they gave up the most points. Ohio State doesn't have an elite defense, they have a good defense who played teams like Marshall, Iowa, and Purdue that padded their stats.
I don’t think anyone actually thinks they’re the #1 defense. They allow way too many penalties which affect stats. Especially on the deep ball holding/pi situation they have. But they definitely have a better defense than Tennessee.
To me it's pretty simple. Will Howard is NOT the guy everyone thinks he is. I don't see a world where he rebounds from that abysmal game against Michigan and beats a much more talented team like Tennessee. Vols over the Buckeyes 27-17.
I am a buckeye fan I never care that much if we beat Michigan if we don't need to that game doesn't mean that much to me when we lost I was kind of happy because now we are well rested and and we can get back to football
@5wi5h614 I'm not trying to imply that OSU doesn't have a great defense. In fact they may very well have the best defense, but rankings can be very skewed. A Tennessee team, who was not as good as this team, put 35 pts on the so called #1 defensive team in the country.
Everyone doubts Ohio State, not this time. Stop hating on them. They will show up and beat the pants off Tennessee. And every hater will be silenced. Stop the hate on OSU and Ryan Day.
The fact the they had a players only meeting after the game, is just cracks in their foundation as a team. NFL players know they don’t work, they see it as a sign that more pain will come. Buckeyes wouldn’t make it pass the second round.
I think Georgia s defense is better than OSUs. OSU D didnt play the same level of talent league wide as Georgia did. Georgia s corners are better. You are wrong about that Joel. It could break a lot of ways. But OSU has some holes in that offensive line and Nico is looking a little different and he has more targets than you covered.
@ not true. They lost many games to the likes of South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida. 0-2 Georgia, 0-1-1 Auburn,0-2 Florida,0-2 South Carolina, 0-1 Tennessee, They are even 1-1 against Vandy. And, if you want to throw in the ACC, they are 1-4 against Clemson, and 0-3 against Florida State.
He brings up Tennessee’s offense not looking good against Georgia but fails to bring up OSU’s #1 defense giving up 500 yards against Oregon and making Nebraska and Michigan look like top 25 teams 🤣
Howard need to hold the ball hard secure the ball when running and throw the ball to our buckeyes, and defense not all run to the Tennesse QB,thay way they not open space for RB to run free
What. Who dud you beat Penn st 0 top 25 win s Indiana shouldn't be ranked over 100 strength of schedule. I'll give you Oregon. It was a great team. We beat 1 as well in Bama, who could beat anyone. We were driving 6 min to go to tie Georgia on the road, and drops killed us. So to act like we played nobody is dumb. Gators played a tougher schedule than top 3 big ten teams combined.
All that nil money and lose to Tennessee would be ridiculous. Michigan beating them and yes im a UM fan. Its not surprising because of how intense of a rivalry it is. GOMICHIGAN baby!!
They won't be able to run the ball effectively...which is a shame with that backfield....so they're gonna throw to Smith and Egbuka....so its all on Vols D-line pressure and Will Howard......how Howard goes...thats the way the Bucks go.....
It's funny cause it's gonna be really cold at night here in ohio...Tennessee 35 degree is nothing like ohio states 15 degree with the wind it gonna feel like it 5 degree so their running back already has a fumble problem so with it being that cold hit the ball every chance you get
Tennessee cannot match up to OSU’s talent. Totally outclassed. TN also cannot win road games. I’m heading up there Saturday. Gonna be a long drive back
Does this dude even watch college football or does he just watch sport center the next day, UT has been going 12 personal the last several games, but he says they don’t change and can’t go big. And saying OSU defense is better than UGA, just proves he is a homer. They might be but there is no way to prove that, OSU schedule is no we’re close to what UGA played. OSU would be 9-3 at best with UGA schedule

Nebraska didn’t nearly beat anybody. The game was never in doubt
Have some faith buckeye fans! Not supposed to be easy.
Soft is as Soft does. You punch these guys in the face and they fold like a house of cards. Tennessee will not. OSU is soft, because all they do is make excuses. Soft. Vols are going to beat them because OSU does not believe.
Wait until you figure out that OSU has a better defense than Arkansas. TN fans will be right back to watching the end of the playoffs at home. Just like PSU!
How many osu games have you seen start to finish? every osu fan will tell you the play calling was different Tenn isnt as good as what people thinks.
@@5wi5h614 Tennessee has a better defense than Michigan… what’s your point?
pretty confident for a team that hasn't beat a top 10 road team since GWB's second term
@@andrewwalsh4252 TN fans overlooking OSU just because TN get's beat up in the SEC.
Tenn dominates line of scrimmage. 31-20 TENN.
Buckeye here, my Volunteer buddy loves ya Joel. There are dozens!
Why would two experienced coaches have to learn such an obvious lesson? Would someone with a Ph.D. in math forget that 2+2 = 4? And if he did forget, would he remember within a few minutes?
Thank you for your sanity.
If Day’s game plan for every game looked like his playoff game plan, this “fire ryan day” talk would be obsolete. Buckeyes would also more than likely score 60/game.
In all actually, I hope all this chatter turns Day into Victor Von Doom. People want to talk about “gamesmanship” and “purity” F that. Leave the field scorched, so bad that media and fan base are talking about “Geez…who hurt this guy? “Was he not hugged as a child?”, “This, bludgeoning opponents is not what college football about” (Save for a few mutually respected coaches 😂)
did bro not see what Michigan did to Ohio State? UT is better than Michigan and is built to beat a team like Ohio State
Ryan Day is going to approach the Tenn game with the George Costanza play book. He is going to do the exact opposite of every single thing that his instinct tells him to do. 🤡😂🤣
😂 that'd be funny. If he does the exact opposite of the last game they'll win by 40.
@@takforce06 but CAN he? Some people are just born losers, step on the rake to the face when the spotlight is on them. Gonna be an interesting run and will make this series fun to watch for non-OSU fans.
Ohio St may win but their not scoring 31
The Bucknuts are done! If you pay $20 million to the portal with top recruits, you better win it all! You have to beat the best if you wannabe the best!
Losing to Oregon 32-31 and rival Michigan 13-10 is not acceptable at all! So what if they made the playoffs? You can't win against Tennessee if you play like that!
😆😆😆😆😆😆
Tennessee's top 10 road loss record since 2007, i.e. a lot of losses to the eventual national champ on the road. dont forget that when you see the stat. Vols d gonna feast on an immobile howard, dude will be trying to run for his life.
Ive seen them learn lessons. Yet, they have done the same thing against michigan 4 years in a row.
You can't play in space with Tennessees defense in your Ohio state Backfield.and the quarter back rushing passes scrambling for his life from Tennessees defense hitting him every 3rd down
The problem is, there won’t be many third downs. Ohio will get the first down on 1 or 2 all night
Tennessees defense is the best OSU has seen too Joel. You gonna take OSUs qb over Nico? Not smart Joel not smart. Better than that come on.
😂😂😂😂😂 Best they seen lol Henderson just scored again
This is a real chance for Tennessee to make a huge statement for their program for the first time in a long time. Really looking forward to this one.
1:50 Why would they even need to be taught this lesson? How could they not foresee that coming?
Good point. I really think sometimes when you have way more talent then the other team you say “we gone beat them playing the way they play”. Maybe they learned that they have a Kstate qb that’s not good so let’s play our style of football.
I feel like Ryan knows how to say all the great things, but the uncertainty of which Chip Kelly's play calling and which Will Howard will show up.
But they do have better players lol
@ at some positions yes, not all. It’s fairly evenly matched
You wonder why Tenn fans don’t like you or the show its because you’re a big ten homer and doubt the Vols every game.
No, he is RYAN DAY homer. Ask Michigan fans. He and his sidekick Urkel Johnson slobber all over OSU and Day every game.
having seen the score last night he's a realist not a homer.. vols got shredded.. and are lucky osu used 2nd and 3rd string in the 4th quarter or it would of been 60 to 10
This is tough because I want OSU to lose but I want Ryan Day to keep his job

Will spill the pill Howard will make a deadly mistake, Vols win.
Go vols!
Day coaches scared, Vols run them out of the Shoe
Many valid points but if had to choose between that defense and Georgia defense, I am all over GA.
6:45 in and I have to pause to say this:
1. The major personnel grouping change and progression this season has been "getting big, " I.e., the use and expansion of the 12 personal package.
2. Nico HAS progressed. Rewatch the SEC games in order: the growth is clear.
This guy gets it. Klatt doesn't watch the Vols.
OSU defense is not better than GA lol. The flaw in your logic, your bias, is that playing in the big 10 equates to the SEC, and it doesnt.
Lmao
Ohio state is 1 and done, Tennessee will end their season and possibly Ryan days job.
WHOOOOOOOOPS. More like they gave inflated Tennessee fans a reality check.
ouch.. 42-17 says the vols were in over their head vs osu..
What makes me laugh is reading and listening to all you Guru’s if I didn’t know any better Ohio st went winless this year and there program may fold after this season 😂🤣😂🤣c’mon there in the playoffs Really people
Ohio.State is going to.smack tenessee. Tenessee is a poor mans mix of Iowa and Indiana. The Bucks will be fine.

Hey there bud UT smacked a better Iowa team 35-0 last year and this is a better UT team. So OSU may indeed win but I can promise you we are a good bit above what you mentioned
@@Tango_Yankee7 no.. the vols were not..

CJ Stroud was the QB who put up 48 on Utah & 42 on UGA, big difference between he and will howard.
You would be crazy to not learn from what happened against Michigan.
You’d also be crazy to try and do what OSU did against Michigan in the first place…
News Flash, Joel! Howard and Chip threw the ball over 30 times in the Michigan game! OSU just got beat at their own game. Plain and simple!
Keep burying your head in that sand! 🤣
GBO!!!🍊
that inflated due to them throwing every down at the end of each half when they had to.
But no pass over 20 yards. That was the mistake
Tennessees defense plays against tempo day in day out and they tackle in space better than any team in the country. Pace and space is probably their best option but wont get them past the 24 point range
Buckeyes are toast. It's going to be one of those hide the women and children games. I am absolutely dreading this.
🤣🤣I’ll come back to this after the game
Ohio State wins big!
Ohio state is gonna win and probably win big
@@jeffreyprice9790 That seems delusional. We do not even have a kicker. A kicker is helpful if this is a defensive game.
Yeah, they also said it would be crazy for Michigan to beat Ohio State this year. Well it happened! Don't under estimate Tennessee. Go Tennessee!!!
Tennessee is not Michigan, this is not a rivalary game.
We will see!
0:36 if they KNOW why tf would it take an L for them to understand how simple the game of football is….Tennessee by 10 🤷🏾♂️
To me it's pretty simple. Will Howard is NOT the guy everyone thinks he is. I don't see a world where he rebounds from that abysmal game against Michigan and beats a much more talented team like Tennessee. Vols over the Buckeyes 27-17.
Agreed Buckeyes are toast. This is my first time in 51 years that I have been actually dreading a game. UT fans will enjoy themselves.

@5wi5h614
So OSU's defense isn't ranked by the same system that ranked Iowa's last year?
@5wi5h614
I'm not trying to imply that OSU doesn't have a great defense. In fact they may very well have the best defense, but rankings can be very skewed. A Tennessee team, who was not as good as this team, put 35 pts on the so called #1 defensive team in the country.
@ how’d that transitive property work?
Everyone doubts Ohio State, not this time. Stop hating on them. They will show up and beat the pants off Tennessee. And every hater will be silenced. Stop the hate on OSU and Ryan Day.
Yes, they'll bounce back. I just hope my ducks can survive. After an OSU revenge game, I think they're okay.
The fact the they had a players only meeting after the game, is just cracks in their foundation as a team. NFL players know they don’t work, they see it as a sign that more pain will come. Buckeyes wouldn’t make it pass the second round.
We know you don’t like the SEC, but you can at least try to hide your bias
I think Georgia s defense is better than OSUs. OSU D didnt play the same level of talent league wide as Georgia did. Georgia s corners are better. You are wrong about that Joel.
It could break a lot of ways. But OSU has some holes in that offensive line and Nico is looking a little different and he has more targets than you covered.
Go Bucks!!!
Someone please address Ohio States ABYSMAL record against the SEC. It’s pathetic.
normally, when Ohio State has to play the SEC, it’s usually against what would be the national champion. Like Alabama or Georgia for example

It might be as bad as 35-14
You got 2 teams Joel. OSU and Oregon dont kid yourself with those stats. Indiana free ride. PSU free ride. 8 teams with a losing record.

48-7 Ohio State. Not gonna be close. If you turn off the media and watch the games Ohio State is better on the field.
