With low local dimming the dark areas were very elevated and grey in colour. With normal local dimming set the dark areas were almost black. The difference was drastic and I just couldn’t stand the elevated blacks of low local dimming.
He uses movie mode for day and filmmaker mode foe night yes it needs to be changed manually between those to mode. I did not understand the reason for this situation. Everything is fine. I do not face any problem from both devices, and I did not know where the cause of the problem came from. From the game or TV, please help, thank you
Hey man, i think you are seeing the display goes black and came back again only when you are starting the game right? That’s because when you are on the home menu the xbox display an sdr image, when you start a game and it supports hdr the image switch to hdr and thats what you are seeing

do you experience flickering in some scenes with white background ? like snow place, when i watch nhl a get flashbangs like hell...i hope its with this fw and not hw issue ffs :(
If you are the one that asked this on AVS, I answered there. But basically all HDR movies are in bt2020 but don't take advantage of the space beyond P3 that often. The bt2020 setting on Samsung oversaturates all colors while the P3 setting is more accurate.

@@Uuuung thanks.
@classy I just bought 65 inch QN90B and without updating it, it has 1420 firmware on it (out of the box). They say it's the worst firmware. Are 1420 and 1430 so different? What are the differences. If 1430 is better, do you happen to know if I can still update my tv from 1420 to 1430 via USB? Lastly, how do I find 1430 on the web as I live in the UK.
Plz settings for firmware update 1602 thx
I can’t change the gamma at all. Any idea why ?
You cant changw gamma without having ce on or turning of game hdr
@@DevilishTaysorry what is ce ?

Does anyone here feel like the hdr is too dim? The RTings recommended settings suggested to turn on the contrast enhancer to make the image brighter and it works but also crush shadow details, imo it’s almost not worth it to have hdr on with such a dim image, is this how hdr works or is the tv bad for that? It’s my first full hdr capable tv and I’m kinda underwhelmed
HDR is not meant to be bright. It's meant to have more dynamic range and detail in dark areas and bright highlights.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations oh i see, thanks for your reply, i guess I’m just too used to bright images from non hdr tvs
Hello... can this settings work on samsung QN85B ?
When i do 19 clicks on the second screen it does not go invisible like urs do you know why? Im on 1430
It's tone mapping a bit still, doesn't really matter.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations so i should still use 19? Have to go up to 31 clicks for it to go invisible
@@DevilishTay yes, too high can over brighten shadows in some games.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations do you know why some youtubers say to go till its fully invisible?
@@DevilishTay they probably don't realize it's not going to help anything, and can over brighten things. Also with the local dimming can cause the highlights to overshoot and clip before being pulled down to show the details.
Wondering if there is a reason you left 2 point calibration Offsets all zero on all HDR modes? And for Game HDR do you have colour gamut to dci-p3 or bt.2020?
Hey friend thanks for your help. Can you tell me why i can still see the suns when i apply your recommendations on the ps5 hdr settings?? Is it normal?? Qn90b user here.
Wow thank you so much.. Helps alot
what are the settings for firmware 1310?
Just picked up this tv today and first impressions are it’s fantastic. What does it mean when you are setting up SDR settings and the other acronyms pls? (Sorry for the new girl question) 😂
All content will be either SDR (standard dynamic range) or HDR (high dynamic range). When looking at content on Netflix for example, look at the little tags in the description for it to say "HD" "4K" "HDR10" etc. If it doesn't say HDR/Dolby Vision etc then it is in SDR.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations thank you. I watched the video back a couple of times and I figured out what you were doing. Super helpful appreciate you.
Waiting for new setting after updating firmware version.
Watch the video ! This is for 1430 and above. 1520 is an update to the smart hub
@@Paulj9-k1b after I followed your settings on my QN90B it's looks greyish and color not punchier. From side angle view color is washed out and looks greyish and white.
What should I change in that case? TIA✌🏻
@user-yb5fq6hx1m .. Classy settings not mine. Work fine for me , though I turn up the st2084 slider for hdr content
@@Paulj9-k1b in my panel it's looks more grain when I playing HDR 4k Netflix contains.
Thanks for the videos Classy. Classy please advise which tech upscales better out of lcd/led or oled. Thanks.
classy, with brightness 50 in SDR do I have to change something in the 2-point white balance?
Hi,
I was a bit apprehensive looking at all the changes you suggested, but after 1430 firmware update, I couldn't find any good settings anymore... surely for hdr gaming with ps5! And thank god, you are SPOT ON!
Could you please make an updated video for QN90B when next firmware goes out? Hopefully they will fix hdr...
Do you have any specific graphic settings for Nintendo Switch? With your sd gaming settings, I find the picture too dark for the usually colourful picture of the switch, and too bright with game mode on (next zelda will arrive soon and I want to enjoy it to the fullest)...
Thx again for the help!
Would also like that but i dont think classy reads youtube comments

Hello, I recently bought the same TV as yours, qn95b 75" while playing the Xbox Series X Modern Warfare 2. I noticed a black screen that appeared for a few moments and then disappeared. I did not understand the reason for this situation. Everything is fine. I do not face any problem from both devices, and I did not know where the cause of the problem came from. From the game or TV, please help, thank you
Could be because of faulty HDMI cable or by not enabling input signal plus.
Hey man, i think you are seeing the display goes black and came back again only when you are starting the game right?
That’s because when you are on the home menu the xbox display an sdr image, when you start a game and it supports hdr the image switch to hdr and thats what you are seeing
Colour space in HDR gaming is set to BT.2020 or DCI-P3?
My calibrator says bt 2020 for hdr content and dci-p3 for sdr
Could these settings be applied to the s95b?
To adjust HDR on PS5, do I have to set 19 times up in the three screens or the last one is totally dark (minimum)?
Last on is all the way dark
@@ClassyTechCalibrations so first and second are 19 times up and the last one is all dark, right?
@@gcareis yup
for Game SDR is not local Dimming Low too dark? My SDR games on PS5 look dark and gloomy, whereas with Local Dimming Standard everything looks more cheerful
Anybody tried firmware 1503 yet?
do you experience flickering in some scenes with white background ? like snow place, when i watch nhl a get flashbangs like hell...i hope its with this fw and not hw issue ffs :(
thank for the setting you are very kind
Do you also use bt 2020? Or do you leave it at dci p3
It doesn't make much difference on the QN models
You recommend DCI-P3 color space what about movies with BT2020 colors like Matrix?
If you are the one that asked this on AVS, I answered there. But basically all HDR movies are in bt2020 but don't take advantage of the space beyond P3 that often. The bt2020 setting on Samsung oversaturates all colors while the P3 setting is more accurate.
SO IS FILM MODE AUTO OR OFF?
Anyone know why my settings keep changing
New firmware versions have appeared.

I've been having a lot of problems with inverse ghosting with games in shaded places it ghosts reds over the image, have you noticed that? would there be any way to solve it?
I put some videos on my channel demonstrating this
No, that's an issue with LCD technology.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations
I have the QN90B 43 inch model, this ghost in the image is bothering me too much, I'm even thinking of returning the device, is the panel on the 65 model different?
@@DanPenteado you would have to get an OLED to not have to deal with that.
