I don’t get how glass in animated movies is both very strong (When needed) and weak (When needed for the plot.). You know, now that I think of it, the whole monkey thingy knocking Max off was the most unneeded piece of plot. It was probably to make more dramatic.

When I watched it, was all the Goddamn side quests. Example, we don't learn much about the main vilain and what turned him into being a vilain. And it all got rushed together in the end.

In the first movie she used a dog walker while she was at work to come and get the dogs lol. But the funny thing is that they have kid leaches so she could have had one on her son to make sure he didn't get too far. I have children and when they are that young they can bolt at a moment's notice so you have to take a hand or have them on a leash.
