Whoever mixed this track is absolutely amazing, you can hear all parts so well without the instrumentals or vocals battling each other. Especially the bass, it's nice to hear the bass groove layered in so nicely.
i got my preorder vinyl yesterday and i listened to the whole album about 5 times and i can genuinely say that it’s one of the best metal albums i’ve heard in years. the mix, and vocals, the riffs, the BASS good lord that bass is amazing. all around 11/10 album love it
Bro that pillow analogy made me spit my drink out from laughing so hard. That was so hilarious and accurate 😂. Edit: Kardashev is my favorite band for real. Love you guys. Bought the digital discography about 2 or 3 years ago (+ physical copy of Liminal),and love every single second of y'alls albums. Not bringing it up for any other reason than just me saying I love you guys.
Have you ever heard of the band Stormlord? They've been around forever, but their vocalist Cristiano Borchi is phenomenal and never really gets any credit. He has a unique style (his highs in particular sound like no one else) with fantastic power (absolutely cavernous lows) and range. If you're interested, I'd recommend checking out the song "Emet" from the album "Mare Nostrum", as that's when he was in his prime, imo.
I agree with you about Johnny. He is one of the best vocalist of our time. There's another song same album. The sun gave me ashes, so I sought out the moon. You gotta check that out vocally! Its so fucking cool.
This is gonna sound kind of weird, but would it make sense to say that Johnny Davy kind of has an... Arnold quality to how he says things? The way he twists the words as he's saying them?
As a prog fan and someone who loves Death Metal/Deathcore, this album for sure has the chance to be near the top of my AOTY list. All three songs they have released has been fantastic. I loved Sun Eater, and man Moon Healer is looking like it's gonna be even better.
@@EMBALMENGRAVE_OFFICIAL hahaha thank you. Prog has been my "In" to a lot of genres. Mastodon is my favorite band of all time and the reason why I love the bands I do today. From Prog I got into Tech Death (JFAC, The Faceless), took a delve in to Black Metal via Agalloch, then metalcore and Deathcore with Spiritbox and Shadow of Intent respectively. Delved into Stoner, Doom, every sub-genre of metal I have atleast one song on my playlist. But i always start from the Progressive aspects of the genre.
yo mark you should listen immortal disfigurement - dragged through the inferno fun to listen and maybe challanging to analyze i can't even tell if he uses false chord or fry screams on few parts
I think they are singers and they sing. But its a niche. Like hip hop. Its still singing. Is throat singing is singing ? I rhink so lol . But there is a place for debate and it questioned ourself about what singing really means. Your example of "try not to sing" was amazing by the way xd
I like & appreciate the new JFAC music but I still prefer the 2015-era JFAC like "Entombment of a Machine". Maybe I like the unsettling orchestration in all the "choppy" stops & starts, changes & rests. That shit is fkng awesome imo.

If they can deliver with the same quality as the singles, we’ll have one of the greatest metal albums of the past 10 years on our hands
Every song is of equal quality. I love it so much. I’m really happy I preordered the CD because Moon Healer is without a doubt album of the year.
@@Colby_Purrins801 dude it’s soooo good. Very very happy with how it turned out, other bands got a lot of work to do if they wanna too this
I would love to see you interview Jonny Davy.

Job For A Cowboy is top tier Death Metal, listing to Moon Healer made me want to fucking cry with joy. Such a heavy hitter.
@@nicknorthcutt7680 I did cry lolol!! Literally couldn't hold it in. So in love with Moon Healer
I think harsh metal vocals are definitely singing. If the vocalist is using his voice as instrumentation in the band, then it's singing.
Agreed 100%. Though sometimes approaching it as if its emotional talking can help us break some bad habits we may have
Nick Schendzielos has been their bassist since 2011 & he’s also a member of nuclear power trio
His work in Havok and Chephelic Carnage is also unreal
I hope you do a full Moon Healer review. These songs deserve it!
Mark: this song should be longer.
Song: but I am already over
i was in hysterics during the aladdin bit lol. so funny but also a perfect example that really got the info across
I need more Metaladdin !!! 🖤🖤🖤

When i first started listening to them people described him as a drunk scooby doo and it made perfect sense
12:41
this is why unhinged performances work so well
6:10 we all shuddered with you hahaha

I didn’t understand Nik’s “Windows-core” reference in the original video’s comments until that computer crashing analogy at the end here.
I would love to hear you break down and thoughts on the band “Thrown”, I am a huge fan of their song Guilt.
thrown is amazing! my favorites are on the verge and guilt too
Love to see a reaction to the new With Blood Comes Cleansing vocalist Robert. They just redid Euangelion with him. It’s nasty.
You're thinking of Nick Schendzielos :) of Cephalic Carnage, Havok and Nuclear Power Trio fame :)
This album is going to be so good
yo mark you should check out "Extol 3". It's a call of duty montage with 4 of kardashev's songs in it! Really cool to see your songs edited to
I'd love to hear your breakdown of a song that I think uses multiple techniques. Diamonds to dust Corpus Christi.

It’s possible Davy might be top 3 metal vocalist
You can't get the kind of balls Davey has on his vocals without being a bad mf

JFAC's sound on this track is very influenced by dissonant black metal... They have that cool Svartidaudi venomous aura, I love it.

extol 3
Fourfteen 😂
I love this, but I still miss the "Doom" era
Doom era with johnnys current vocal style would be insane
