Poppy is so cool. Her enthusiasm with metal is so real, and this cannot be said about all pop/rap artists that have been influenced by metal. This is the first video I see from you, so Idk how any of this works, but I'd love to hear your thoughts about Banshee. She's an independent alternative artist and her musical roots are in metal. Lamb of God and Arch Enemy are her biggest inspirations, she used Melissa Cross's videos to learn how to scream and her music, which she describes as "fairy metal" is a combination of black metal, trap, witch house and hyperpop. I think she's gonna be the inspiration for many female metal vocalists in the future and that she has had and continues to have a true impact on the underground metal scene. For context, I just turned 32 and have been a metalhead since I was 11. I live in Finland.

I cannot wait for this album, and I love the analysis.
that technique you mentioned around 16:30 where she drops the grittiness off at the end of a scream is really neat, and the singer for Silent Planet does it a LOT.
Yeah Garrett is an absolute master of blending in the whimper of his voice with his frys, his ability to add and remove distortion at will is masterful. Brian from Currents does it a lot too but with a false chord/hybrid technique.
I think im the only person who isn’t a fan of poppy..I saw this and thought eyeroll...but I was super surprised. I like how she compliments Bryan. She really showed out and killed it. Im freaking beyond excited for their new album.
Poppy is my favourite artist and she is good for music in general.
this is about to be one of the greatest records of the year
Aw, the shout out to the Elotes man. Glad you experienced some latin flavor in both music and food in your life. That was definitely a reggaeton beat. 🙌
Honestly never got the hate for Bryan's voice, he sounds like with roots above Mike Hranica of TDWP
Its god awful. It sounds like spongebob squarepants
I didn't like it at first. It's very abrasive. I really like his screams now, but I understand how someone might not enjoy it.
Next Kardashev Album needs a Poppy Collab!!
Haha, that'd be dope!
Best cameo in a song ever. Pearler of a track. That scream from Poppy at the end. 😮 Visceral.
this was an interesting listen. you got a new followower
You're the only one I've seen pick up that small whine at the end of Poppy's longer sustained scream. I heard it on the first listen and was like, "ffffffffffuh....😮". You got a new subscriber my dude. 👍👍
Hell yeah, I'm glad you noticed it too!
i think it would be very worth it to check out more poppy, for example her song "spit" is also on the heavier side
HAHA im from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and when i heard that breakdown i went craazy had ur same reaction just started to “perriar” with confusion and a face like it smelled like my work boots it was hard tho worked so welll🔥🔥 and then they downed the tempo to the same beat but reversed 🤢🤢🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 loved it and loved seeing u dancing! HAHA❤
Haha!
Poppy is going to be our metal goddess
Really good video btw
Thanks!
Poppy is latina so makes sense to have that little latin drum 🤠
Sounds like a cool recommendation, I'll have to check her out!
Best song of the year so far 🔥🔥🔥
i love knocked loose!! and poppy is my favorite!! she’s generally post-genre so perhaps that would explain the breakdown 😝
Also 16:24 is 100% Mike Hranica’s style. At least in the old days I’ve always loved it
