Knocked loose is on he modern example of just pure uncompromising hardcore rage. They have better songwriting than just riff salad beatdown bands, and actually have hooks and catchy aspects. Mean ass breakdowns for aged deathcore fans, the creepy korn guitar stuff for the former nu-metal kids. And also, Brian Garris’ voice is way more listenable since it’s more “real” sounding than just the normal beatdown fat guy vocals. For some reason, they are popular too and they achieved a pretty good score on billboard and stuff. Go knocked loose.

Bryan Garris is a really weird case. His screaming pitch is a lot higher than his natural speaking voice. Like a lot of vocalists from the modern hardcore scene he doesn't really care about technique. He said he just does what feels natural but never learned to scream. He's pretty safe and comfortable in what he does, his voice has gotten a lot better since KL started

    • @ooddododd8101

@@ooddododd8101 it's possible but I doubt it. I've seen KL a couple of times and watched a lot of live videos and his voice never sounds strained. He's just really naturally good at one type of scream that fits with his vocal anatomy

It sounds similar to the staple metalcore/post-hardcore Mids that vocalists like Mike Hranica, Caleb Shomo, Jon Mess, and Brendan Murphy do.

The most accurate description of Knocked Loose I’ve ever heard in my life

Bro, what...? You actually hadn't heard them....? I just saw them live at Knotfest Iowa. Bro, you need to hear their new EP. I don't care if you do a reaction vid to it or not; from me to you, human to human, metal fan to metal fan, person to person - go listen to it sometime. It's a short EP, just listen to it all in one go [if you can xp]. Trust and believe. Get the lyrics up if you need 'em. And just let it wash over you, bay-beh
    Sooooooooooooooooo good

Also, pretty sure you need to hear BIlly No Mates//Counting Worms to earn your hardcore kid badge. Like it's far from the only requirement; but I'm pretty sure that's mandatory listening

I'm a devout deathcore fan, "elitist" maybe, I dabble in metalcore semi-often, but rarely hardcore, but the EP is disgustingly good, is my favorite release of 2021, of all genres.

His voice, is very high pitch, i´m not used to, but the the sound is amazing, so is voice to, now love it!

Oh my God, I absolutely LOVED this reaction. I love Knocked Loose, and Bryan's vocals are just so unique. Glad you gave the boys in KL some much needed love (always love seeing you bring the sword out lmao). I actually have a recommendation for you. I would love it if you checked out Shawn Plummer's (prev. The Screamo Negro) dual vocal cover of Crooked by Dead Vectors. He does it with a friend of his named Braeden Cononie and their vocals are INSANE. Shawn was actually one of the reasons I started screaming, so seeing you react to his vocals would be an absolute DREAM. Keep up the good work y'all, you guys are awesome! 🤘🤘🤘

Just saw them in Louisville (hometown for them) and they did 1.5 hour set. Him and the band sounded amazing the entire time. So one would assume he must have good vocal health. At least I hope so we can keep getting amazing music out of them.

My theory is that he is doing a sort of falsetto belt with enough airflow that it causes the surrounding tissue to vibrate (think "shout" scream, but with a falsetto voice). That's at least what makes sense when you consider that his speaking voice is much deeper than his screams, and in a really early KL record, he had a scream that sounded more like his normal speaking voice.

I know you try to keep new stuff on the shelf for future videos, but I cannot overstate how good their new EP is. Also the rest of A Different Shade of Blue and everything else they’ve put out is phenomenal and deserves a listen if you don’t plan on turning them into future reactions. Also would love to see a Dying Wish reaction on the future, Emma’s vocals are insane.

It's crazy, I watch so many daily new live Knocked Loose videos and Bryan literally doesn't sound any different live. Man does it every night and doesn't miss a beat. One of my favourite bands to see live - I saw them in Toronto and it was BRUTAL in the best way.

My man, this isn’t even the heaviest song in their repertoire! However, it’s essentially splitting hairs, because all their songs emanate hostility, pain, power, just sheer ferocity.
Here are some recommendations per their last few albums though, if I may.
“Oblivion’s Peak” from the album “Laugh Tracks”
“Forget Your Name” from the album “A Different Shade of Blue” (features Keith Buckley)
“God Knows” from their new EP “A Tear in the Fabric of Life”
Again, all of their stuff slaps, but if you wanna avoid upholstering your chair and just finish it completely, these 3 tracks will get you there lol.

@@KardavoxAcademy Admittedly, only God Knows has a music video, which I know you lean more towards (understandably). To fix that, swap out Oblivion’s Peak for the The Rain, and Forget Your Name for …And Still I Wander South. Both have music videos and are still quite the thunderous experience lol.
