I never had the pleasure of Rush, live, but can only imagine.

RUSH Row 1, center, R30 Tour, Sleep Train Amphitheater, Sacramento, Ca! Cost? A lot but who cares. It was freakin' awesome!
Saw them three times and paid twice for “cheap seats” but the third was the best by far. The company I was working for in 2005 had a marketing relationship with Ford Amphitheater in Tampa. The advertising manager popped into my office one day and said, “Hey, I’ve got four tickets to the Rush concert this week and I’m not a huge fan. You want them?” After I got up off the floor, I said YES!!! They were 12th row center. That’s a night I’ll never forget.
The one you have yet to do is their prog MASTERPIECE - La Villa Strangiato
This is actually seven songs here, one from each of their first seven studio albums. Finding My Way from their first album titled Rush, Anthem from Fly By Night, Bastille Day from Caress of Steel, A Passage to Bangkok from 2112, Cygnus X-1 from A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres from Hemispheres, and The Spirit of Radio from Permanent Waves. This is how they started off their R 30 concert. Doesn't get much better than this!!

"Such a big sound from 3 people in the band, wow".. That young lady is a little thing some of us people that got to see them live call TALENT. Todays "artists" don't have this kind of staying power or the kind of back catalogue of songs spanning almost 45 yrs. There will never be 3 more talented players in our life times that could make such great music, for this long a time and still be loved by as many fans from the beginning to the end Sadly, both drummers in this band died before their time. John Rutsey (May 2008) and Neil Peart (Jan 2020). #RIPJohn #RIPNeil We as fans loved you both.
***EDIT*** Just so some of you younger kids know, these guys into their late 50's and early 60's before the band "ended" (in 2015) and got off the road, where still playing almost 3 HRS each live show. That is how much music these 3 guys made together over almost 42 yrs on the road starting way back in 1974. Neil joined in July of '74 when John left the band in March of 1974. These guys released 19 studio albums in total. There was a nearly 5.5 yrs point where the band did not tour or record as Neil's daughter Selena died (traffic accident Aug 1997) and 10 months later his wife Jacqueline Taylor passed away (cancer June 1998), and he travelled North and South America to clear his mind and get right with himself as he told the guys he " was retired". Alex and Geddy were unsure if the band would continue, and let Neil take his time to do what he needed to do.

Rush is best experienced live. They made their mark, and gained the best fans ever, by being a working band.
I went through your Rush catalog and you haven't done the ultimate instrumental: La Villa Stangiato. You should do either the original - official from 1978 or Live Cleveland 2011. Either way - watch both so you can see how perfect they perform it over a 33yr span.

The crazy part: If you saw those 3 guys walking down the street together, they look like 3 guys that work in an auto repair shop. You would never guess they are all GODS of the instruments they play. If you haven't seen the Rush documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage" you should. It's great. So amazing that Geddy and Alex have been friends since elementary school and they were actually in the same homeroom together in Jr high school. Life long friends.

I read where Neil towards the end told his buddy, on the way back from a visit to the DW cave, "I have been listening to some of our songs on these trips and you know we were really, really good"

I saw Rush four times. My brother took me to this small rock bar in Toronto called The Gasworks. This was before Neil Peart was the drummer. They were just kids. Right from the start they were fire. If you love instrumentals this is right up your alley. They were backup band to ZZ Top. Needless to say, that was memorable experience.

Neil Peart was the favourite drummer for many well known drummers. He was consistently ranked in the top drummers. This is one of my favourite bands, along with Disturbed, Slipknot, Black Sabbath, Nightwish, AC/DC... can't go wrong with any one of them.

you want to know a good one to see live? "Mission" from their "Show of Hands" tour in '88. The solo at the end of that song, amazing. Will give you chills. Another great one is "Natural Science" from "Live in Rio" 2002.

There are two, 2 piece bands with big sound that come to mind; The White Stripes (Singer/Guitarist and Drummer) and Royal Blood (Singer/Bassist and drummer) You should definitely check both of them out.

one performance not to be missed even if you heard the recoding version is (Working Man Live Cleveland ). Cleveland was a very important city at the beginning of their journey, A Radio DJ in Cleveland was the first to play Rush on the Radio and brought them more into the spotlight
Clever. The song starts at 9:05, but it sounds like it starts at 9:20. They were adapting subliminal messaging techniques just for the fun of it, from what I just heard. Did I hear it? A number chord changes taken from the middle of the song, and played just before the start of it? Maybe I'm imagining things. They ended the intro with an intro.

The one thing about rush they have gotten better with time..unlike some other big band that have gotten sloppy..not rush they give you there all every concert..rock on
