In this DIY video, I demonstrate how to repair chips in your phone screen using common household materials. All you need to fix your phone screen:
Isopropyl Alcohol
Super Glue (CA Glue)
In just a few short minutes you can easily repair your front glass and ensure that those cracks don't get any larger.

@@pawpatrolsworstenemy2257 I actually wound up painting over it with clear nrail polish. I have used nail polish way more so I found it easier. Crack is smooth but still visible. I didn't like working with glue so much
@@pawpatrolsworstenemy2257 I found it way easier to use clear nail polish. Crack feels smooth and won´t cut anyone but you can still see it. I painted a couple of coats and then scraped residual off with a razor blade.

@@roechan.6558 Yes it works. Just paint it with clear nail polish. Apply a coat, let it dry, apply a coat, let it dry, apply a coat, let it dry til crack is all the way covered. Then scrape excess paint off with a razorblade. Want to buy my old phone? It comes with free services through Textnow.com it is unlimited talk/text . It cracked and I painted it to repair it. It works fine. I just don´t like the crack.

I used Superglue & blade taken from inside a plastic lady's razor.
It smooths out the cracks so touchscreen is smooth.
My left ear enjoyed this.

Any thoughts on the oil residue left from the isotope alcohol having an effect either aiding or complicating the super glue application?
I haven't seen any issues from alcohol residue. But I try to ensure that it is completely dry before applying the glue.

Don't forget to tilt the phone back and forth when applied superglue so that you don't damage the LED..

Hey new viewer here- with a cracked screen I'm apparently in the right place. I've wondered about all of these methods and was so glad to have found a tester in you. My only issue is that you don't seem to show the phone/device ON after fixing. I would love to see this, bc my only hestiation in performing one of your methods is that my visual quality (i.e. pixels, brightness etc) will be hindered. Similar to water damage. I'm so concerned that "texture fixing" will result in pixel meltdown...
You commentes 5 years ago, but for anyone else wondering, you should still have another layered, it should be glass,digitizer,LCD,so just thinking, glue should never contact the lcs directly.

Strong glue you have to take off while removing a phone screen, so superglue should not cause a problem at all!

You want to take a little bit of a paper towel and wipe in a round motion the end of the super glue tube so the glue doesn't glue closed the cap on...before placing the cap back on.

I use the super glue to fix cuts on my skin. It works great and by the time the glue wears out, the cut has healed 🙂

Bentley Rhodes it works. I got a new phone since this video, so I can't do another video with it. You can clean the glue off with acetone if you try it and don't like it

Just wondering how long the screen lasted on the nail polish video. And for another maybe one of these days try rearview mirror adhesive... Cheap and attaches to glass well. If it works let me know. Also on some small fracture repairs on fiberglass I hear up the fiberglass cracks before applying glue and it sucks the glue down into the cracks 😃 just some ideas going to try the nail polish with heat this weekend and I'll let you know how it goes .
john pabst can't wait to hear it. That heat idea sounds good. I'll have to try it. I'm planning to use a vacuum to suck the air out of the cracks in a video soon too.
This seems way more sufficient then the tooth paste method, witch their are more vids of.

I would add the you could use accelerator on the super glue Nd also, with a buffing polish you could get the glue glass like

Can you do this if the crack is more like a pin hole? I can see it goes all the way thru.
It's worth a try. If you don't like the result, a little acetone will easily remove the adhesive.
Hey if you want to prevent that from happening again use clear nail polish for a screen protector

I have also sub though when I drop my iPhone whilst cycling, I had to have the screen replaced. It’s good to know I can do this myself. Also that alcohol cleaner is just what I need for all my devices. I don’t use a screen protector for my iPad Pro 10.5

I bought myself a new phone for my birthday which is on Saturday. I haven't had it 2 full days & I cracked my screen. I was getting outta the car & my ankle was caught on a cord on the floor, So I went strait to my face w/the phone in hand. The screens cracked now (mostly in the bottom corner & around the perimeter a bit. I just don't want it to break more. So I'm gonna give this a try in the morning & let ya know how it goes

@@srm158 I didn't try it on that particular phone cuz it was a little more far gone than I realized...However, I tried it on the one I was replacing. Luckily that screen wasn't as bad. I tried that method on it and I think it worked pretty well. I mean you can still see that it's cracked, but it made it smooth again and durable. I couldn't care less what it looks like...honestly I wasn't expecting it to do anything for its durability. I just wanted it smooth because I play games on it all the time. so Ty 😸

My phone has a deep hole on the screen, because it dropped on a small rock or something like that. I filled it with super glue. I hope that works. I made this to prevent myself from cutting myself. I hope it works at least until black friday sales.

so super glue and hand sanitizer have to things in common they burn in when you breathe and irritates your eyes to and nose but are safe in contact with skin.

Careful with this hack if the super glue isn’t completely in the crack my daughter did this with her tablet and when it was done she kinda laid on it and started bleeding a lot (she is ok now )

How does the metal scraping not damage the screen?
there is a thing called the hardness scale which determines what can scratch what.
it goes from a 1-10 i believe
1 being talc and 10 being diamond
basically anything with a higher hardness can scratch something with a lower hardness. ex: an 8 can be scratched by a 9.
an 8 cannot scratch a 9
a razor blade has a lower hardness than the glass for the screen, but a higher hardness than the glue. so it can scratch away the glue but not the glass
also don't quote me! this is off the top of my head! I could be wrong too

mike who cheese hairy in my case yes if you look at an iphone xr you can see the black border around the screen, and thats what i cracked, it didn’t crack the actuall part you use. Because of this i used superglue on it to fill it in used 1000grit sandpaper to sand it flush and ran the black paint pen over it to make it black and you can barely tell.

My question is this is a small crack. I have a much larger crack along the bottom of my screen that's most often used. It is more severe then what's shown in this video. No, the epoxy won't ruin your device. Just make sure you don't get it in any of the physical buttons.

I've got the glue the paste the tape all at the ready it's space age v stone age time.
That was torturously slow but ultimately useful
protip--if a video is too slow, just change the playback speed in the settings to be faster. I do this all the time (now normal talking speed seems slow to be but hey, it's efficient)
