I think saying the e36 m3 is an “underated” car is quite an understatement. E36s have made a name for themselves for years and are super popular among enthusiasts
The US spec E36 M3 can be made nearly as if not even more powerful as the Euro spec E36 M3 with no more than $3k worth of boltons and a pro tune (included in that $3k). It will also still manage to be more reliable and cheaper than the euro spec. Anyone who hates on the USA E36 M3 is forgetting it was designed for a market that is known to customize their vehicles once the warranty expires.
Great video. I have an e36 M3 Evo saloon, European spec, and I love it. It really is every car you could ever want. Even after 15 years of ownership, I am still not bored with it, it just does everything the way a car should and, as you say in the video, it makes every journey exciting. It thrills me every time I get in it. The only other car I have driven that can do that in the same way is a Subaru Impreza Turbo.
You don’t have any business owning an E36 if you can’t afford 15 to 30K purchase price you can’t afford to unleash it’s real potential so check out a Miata or up your income.
@tonyb9735 totally agree. E46 looked amazing when debut but the unnecessary quad exhaust side vents etc where now other manufacturers are borrowing that look has made it now look cheesy. Whereas e36 is growing like a fine wine, chiseled looks I completely agree.
E36s are the reason imma car guy. Growing up my dad bought a 97 4 door 328i, around 2000 we started modifying it. I remember we had just did the m3 5 speed swap and hks exhaust right before we went to see fast and furious in theaters. Long story short by 07 the car was the first to hit 1000whp and first in the 9s. If it wasn't for that car me and my pops would of never been so close.
The internet made me crazy 8 years ago and I sold my E36 M3 for peanuts. People convinced me the E36 isn’t a real M3. Now the same car sells for €20k more than when I sold it. One of the best cars I ever owned and I still miss it
BMW actually didn't produce more e30 M3 not because they couldn't keep up with production, but because they were sued for claiming it was a limited edition of 10,000 cars and produced more than they claimed in the USA
We have come a long way! Following you from the time when u had 10k subs and look where we are today! I am so happy to see talented team like you people getting success!! Keep it up!! love from India!!
Great video, i wish they were longer tho. Like 13-15 minutes long. Also continue by doing the 3 series line up, with the E46 and so on. Also hop on the 5, 6 and 7 series🥵💕
I like the E36 because it looks nice and it we owned like over 20 of them their really underrated it has everything you want a inline 6 and it comes in a 2 door or 4 door its just like a lexus is300 but that only comes in 4 door
Back in 2005 I almost bought a E 36 M3 1999 blue with the white Vanos interior. The owner talked me out of it because he bought it brand new and I would’ve been the second owner didn’t talk me out of it because he didn’t want to sell it only because I was young and then understand the maintenance. Long story short. I ended up with an I 35 Infiniti. Lol but I love these cars.
I find it hilarious that the most hated m3 series is starting to become the most appreciated, especially in value. Saw someone in a BMW group potentially offer his ‘97 Technoviolet m3/4/5 with nearly 300k kms for $35,000 CAD. Only going to go Higher at this point.
I will always love BMW my first car when I'm 18 or 19 it's going to be a BMW 525i e39 or e60 because family friends have BMW cars in my family I'm in the BMW family tree
Who cares about having so many more future generations of M3 in America afterward? Even the V8 M3 with hydraulic power steering already lacks steering feel, let alone the later ones with electric power assist!
It's all well and good comparing the US spec 3.0 vs the euro spec 3.0 But we also got the 3.2 evo, which is where M division really started upping the ante with NA engines. 200cc saw a 40hp increase. Then the S54 came along and added another 20hp. And then the CSL came along and added another 20hp to that. 3.0 E36 280hp. 3.2 CSL 360hp. 3.0 US spec 240hp But I get why it exists. And tbh, if it didn't and it didn't sell well, maybe the brakes would have been pulled up at M division rather than letting them go ape shit.
Who the hell ever underated the M3?? I guess being 15-19 when this M3 came out I was hanging out more with car enthusiasts and not magazine car critics
I can only afford a 318i auto 🥲. But as long as I got that beautiful E36 body, I am fine even tho it's painfully slow😅. Make it to look like an M3 (minus the badge) is fine by me.

I actually like the E36 M3. That smooth straight-six sound is unbeatable.
It usually understeer and lacks power, for me, it’s a trauma

These m3 are selling for 15-30k now on the market so idk about under 10k. I’m on the market everyday and prices is bonkers
This!
That's when you buy a 325i with the m50 and beat on it
Was about to say this also.
@BigCee955 in Europe is the dream

one of the prettiest cars ever,
if you ask me
I agree. I think it's looks have aged brilliantly, far better than the e46 IMO.
I am biased though, as I have an e36 🙂
@tonyb9735 totally agree. E46 looked amazing when debut but the unnecessary quad exhaust side vents etc where now other manufacturers are borrowing that look has made it now look cheesy. Whereas e36 is growing like a fine wine, chiseled looks I completely agree.
Good Video, Lets do E46 M3 next (and all M3 that follows)
My thought exactly
Yep

Thanks for the "mention" of the "Self recycling Door Panels" on the E36,,, I am doing a nice Upgraded REMO on my Door Panels with " M" stitching,,,

I love my 2004 E46 ❤
A video on the sedans motor capabilities like the m60' 62's e34-e39 before we got the M s62
We have come a long way! Following you from the time when u had 10k subs and look where we are today! I am so happy to see talented team like you people getting success!! Keep it up!! love from India!!
Awesome story. Now, please continue the saga... E46 next please!
After chipping and adding a cold air induction (a real one) front strut brace and bottom brace mine was a serious blast!!
Great video, i wish they were longer tho. Like 13-15 minutes long. Also continue by doing the 3 series line up, with the E46 and so on. Also hop on the 5, 6 and 7 series🥵💕
Fasholy. really underrated staying N/a when competitors chose turbo
Have you seen the amount of M3's in the track these days heck even on formula drifting big events
Thank you for your hard work
I like the E36 because it looks nice and it we owned like over 20 of them their really underrated it has everything you want a inline 6 and it comes in a 2 door or 4 door its just like a lexus is300 but that only comes in 4 door
One of the best cheap project cars 👌🔥
Cheap? There's nothing cheap about used / project E36's. M3's, off all kinds are silly money.

I'm looking at one in a few days its 5 speed manual but not an M but it had M suspension sadly its a 1.9 4 cylinder.
You nearly lost me with that gong.
One of the greatest sports car ever made!!!
Greatest car of all time. I always wonder why it is still considered the low point of M3s by too many
Internet hivemind. Not based on actual ownership experiences
Please show us an E36 M3 for $10k. It won't be easy.
best car ever
❤BMW video

No way you’re getting a e36 m3 for under 10k unless maybe it’s a automatic convertible with 200k miles lol.
It’s my favorite m car ever
I will always love BMW my first car when I'm 18 or 19 it's going to be a BMW 525i e39 or e60 because family friends have BMW cars in my family I'm in the BMW family tree
e36 is the best car of the 90s, simply because of its features and the price right now.
DO BMW E46 M3 GTR PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Who cares about having so many more future generations of M3 in America afterward? Even the V8 M3 with hydraulic power steering already lacks steering feel, let alone the later ones with electric power assist!
Please keep them Miss understood so I can buy more of them
definitely not under 10k anymore
Why is the thumbnail an E46?

Shit they gonna make the e36 goes over the roof again , man i wouldn't be able to buy it as my first car ;-;
I’d like to see the 2013 chevy Camaro 2LT since I’m thinking about buying one

I would like to see some audi a4
"[The e36] was cheaper, nimbler and less expensive."
Anybody else catch that sentence?
E36 is a masterpiece
Why is there an 46 on the thumbmail tho🗿
Who the hell ever underated the M3??

Mercedes built over 19k 190s. Yes. Since 1982.. the m3 came later..
only because the shark was so much of a beast, it was drivers favorite and had nearly the same amount of horses in the racing version

The E36 was always my least favorite M3, but it still holds a special place of the one that made a 5y/o me a lifelong M3 fanatic. 🩵💜❤️
